I was 29 when this came out. Long Out of College. Trying to work. Found a job on a Govt. contract with a bunch of other college kids. Reagan Era. I remember riding to to work on the back of motorcycle at about 70 mph listening to this on headphones with a co worker who gave me ride because I'd had a DUI about 4 months prior.
Its easy....Hey Ho ho New Sensation...To a roadside...A Hillbillysong....I said a New Sensation..
Oooo.....oooo.....New Sensation....Hell Yeah! Tra-la-la--la.... Unbelievable Great!
Why wasn’t this a single? I just ran back into this song after a previous life of coming of age, working in a record store in the mid 80’s. I must have recorded it to tape in my lean days. The bass line is so damn slippery! The lyrics…brilliant.
LOU REED IS THE MAN
That bass....perfect.
Thanks sal economos !

For the record Fernando I like your riff better than Prakash. But you both are great. You ever get to jam with Dicky and Steve?
@@fernandosaunders5661 In my mind of the coolest bass lines ever written. Together with the lyrics of the songs I just want to sit in my car and start driving. Thank you so much for this!!
that is fretless right? so few play it seems
The bass is the balls on this one..
La basse! La basse! La basse! Trop bon Fernando Saunders. J'ai adoré Lou Reed hélas il est parti. Robert Quine aussi. Ces types devraient jamais partir.😒😒😪😪
RIP Robert Quine.
Here Lou applies the less is more theory to his music…Effectively and efficiently done…
I was 21 and when I found this song...it was my running song...I was in bliss
You have good taste.

My favorite song of his entire solo career. The words are so perfect I regret he mangles them a bit. But he's having fun and seeing Lou Reed enjoying his new sensations as he glides into his 40's is infectious.

I was at this show,It was great. My friend Jim Caroll closed the show for Lou.If it wasn't for Jim I wouldn't have known about'
it.It was worth the trip to Passaic.May both Lou & Jim R.I.P.
great guitar solo at the end..... missing from the recorded version
This is the best version of this song, live. I can’t listen to it enough
EVERY DAY AT LEAST REPLAY 4 OR5 TIMES
GREAT YEAR 1984. MUSIC IS BETTER THAN GOOD...
Man fretless bass is so badass
Stay to the end for some rare Lou lead guitar work
Quine... Could have been so hot!
The F A N T A S T I C Fernando Saunders on bass
Ferdy Katchadourian what a player!!!
Fernando Saunders I don’t know that I can think of a more exciting fretless bass line that yours in this song. You sir are outstanding
@@MusicFed yes one of my favorite 👍
@@MusicFed Thank you again :) www.fernandosaunders.com
@@fernandosaunders5661 What a pleasure it is to find you here online. I've loved your playing since the mid-80's. This album and The Blue Mask are my favorites. Your bass playing is often the most appealing and interesting part of the song.
Love that squiggly wiggly bass line
For half a second I thought your avatar was the motorcycle helmet from the cover of Legendary Hearts.😄
@@dixonpinfold2582 ha it's got that horizontal lines vibe to it but nope just a lamp in my thinking room. I love Bottoming Out and Rooftop Garden (the whole album really).
Maravilhozo
The coolest bass ever
Hello everyone from Russia, no more words, that's great!
Musical genius. Right here
I feel in love with motorcycles because of this song. Been riding 20+ years now!
Every performance its a different bike tho 😅
After 36 years still likes this song a lot !
Thank you Lou.
🙏💯MUSIC GENIUS:LOU REED!!💯💯💯👍
Love this song. Amazing talent in one room here. A frett less bass. You have to sbe good!
They all like there having a good time.
Keeping the beat...LENNY FERRARI!
Bass is the barometer of the song. Keeps the song atmospherically in line…Lou Reed does atmosphere well!
Bobby Quine!!!
Let's see, you got Hunter S. Thompson on guitar there, Vinny "The Blade" on drums, Slim on bass, and of course the ever popular Mr New York His own self, Mr Lou Reed. They sound great!
Beautiful song. I miss Lou in the world. The bass line makes me happy.
thank you too in 2020
This is the perfection.
C'était sa meilleur formation. Et c'était le meilleur.

👉👍LOU REED ISTHE MAN☝
The GPZ section has some of the most compelling Lou Reed lyrics. Love this tune
Yeah, as a former GPz rider, I love this song. Not keen on the change to a Harley on this version 😄
A classic album
La basse de Fernando SAUNDERS magnifique.👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Epic head turn at 4:26
Tremendous bass support!
Man, this song hits me right in the feels. Love it. Lou was and will forever remain a fuckin genius.
❤❤❤
ギター🎸、超カッコ良かったっすぅ❗😏☕️🌃❤️🎶✴️👍
🤠🥸🤓👉👌👍
you can say that again 😎 very cool
Sounds like a very good garage band. And that's quite all right with me.
What a great version. This whole gig is so darn brilliant. Miss Lou.
love Lou reed! Still the best. R.I.P.
Lou is a God! And what about the bass lines? AWE!
Thank you guys :) www.fernandosaunders.net
You rule Fernando! Big hug from a Brazilian fan!
Great tune, weird how the words were changed from the studio version. On the studio version he says love that gpz so much I could kiss her, on this live version he says harley. I heard an interview where he discusses loving his kawasaki gpz 900 so much, just saying. I'm sure he had many bikes
In 1982 this was my theme song for running
Did you have a time travel machine? This song came out in 1984 😉
Great Lou,rip man
I ♡ that GPZ so much, I could kiss her.
Circo massimo fui presente davvero tosto lou.

Grande Lou Reed Forever....!! 🤘🏻😎
Still relevant
Real art is and will always be ;-)
_Que bajo tan genial el de Fercho Sanders. Puto reloj._
Great times
Nice! Definitely, excellent base. Lou Reed plays pretty good guitar on this. Quine solo could have been louder. Upbeat song.
Amen to y ou

Keep scrolling and you'll find the best music! Timeless in 2023! The " Human Tuinal' phrase caught me off guard, brought me back to early 70's when Tuinals, barbiturates, downers were a thing... very strong sedative...
Long Live Rock & Roll!! ✌️💗
te extraÑamos LOU REED!!!!!!!!
Great ❤️
I just love this song, RIP Lou!!! this guy most have been a motorcyclist because of the way he described the GPz.
GPz ?
@@gontierfrancois8115 The GPZ was a cool and fast Kawasaki motorcycle from the 80s
This is not a popular opinion. At all. But I think New Sensations is Lou's best record. I find that it displays every facet of his personality.
Maestro!!
How dare you!.....
The first Velvet Underground album with the cover by Andy Warhol is the greatest album of all time.....
Although it's not technically a Lou Reed SOLO record so I will give you that...
Perhaps that is why the album is called
NEW sensations....?
Forgive me... sometimes I'm just like a

And vocals.
So bad : When i saw ya, Lou, in Concarneau (France), you were totally drunk & stoned... But, no trouble : You'll stay in my heart FOR EVER !!! (Maybe the wild west Wind, maybe... mushrooms ?)
so is quine tuned a whole step down?
I wonder how that will play out in a court?
