Lucian gave my live purpose, and has restored my hope for humanity. I hope for a world with no religion, a peaceful place with great minds working for the betterment of humankind, and not serving for false idols.

I'm an atheist...but I'm very much on board with the mission of TST. It's utterly non-theistic(at least TST is) but....promotes positive ethics and goals.
They also value community and ritual and art and symbolism....which I value quite a bit myself.
I am an atheist....and a humanist....and secular....but Satanism is an important and ethical counter-myth that can do real work in our society.
I love how they lean in to the symbolism theocrats have always thrust upon them. They took that narrative...and now make people THINK about it, rather than just have a gut-level histrionic reaction. I genuinely find TST to be a valuable instrument in making the world a better place.
I totally get why some atheists would balk at all this. But.....when I was young I was utterly tied-up in end-times evangelical hysteria. So, for me personally, the mythology of Satan and everything tangential to that....is a potent and beautiful mythos to fight back against theocratic power. It subverts the very idea of Satan and reclaims valid ethics and priorities that have long been "satanized."

Hey I'm a Christian that believes that there should be a separation between church and state and I love what he is doing. I am a member of the Temple and support its cause. I still don't have the guts to wear a TST t-shirt yet but I'm getting close. It just incenses me that I don't feel free to do that, I don't feel I'm safe.
I just donated money to this organization by buying one of their mugs. They are doing the lord's work, so to speak.

The funnest thing to say to the religious when they ask about your religion is to say, "Well, I'm not religious, but if I was I would probably join The Satanic Temple as they best represent my morals and values." Good times. Then if they have not already run away in abject terror, I like to mention that The Satanic Temple is the only religious group I've donated a large sum of money to, that Satan is cooler than Je$u$, and that ShopSatan is a thing. ShopSatan! I LOVE THAT THAT'S SHOPSATAN IS A THING! I'm a big fan of an organization like The Satanic Temple that does such important and work in such a courageous and thoughtful manner.

It's not like any other religion actually has a god or higher power that they actually worship, so, maybe it could be said that technically THEY are not a religion, or that technically, no religion actually exists, just a lot of mistaken people (except for The Satanic Temple which knows there is no higher power to worship). Maybe, then, The Satanic Temple, and maybe some atheistic Eastern religions, are the only "true" religions.

I agree with a lot of what he says but I'm struggling with TST's position on forcing people to provide services for causes they don't believe in. I'm of the opinion that the Government beyond taxation and some environmental and safety regulations shouldn't be compelling people to perform actions. They can make laws to tell us what we can't do but it crosses a line when they say you have to do something or say something. Frankly I'm surprised that TST has taken the position where the government can force us to follow a set of morals....it's a slippery slope.... That said, if I was a baker I'd bake a cake for a gay wedding without a second thought and I think it's grotesque that any baker wouldn't. But we shouldn't force them to do it. Just my opinion.
