  • Hi all. If your Arrma 3s Granite, Typhon, Big Rock, Senton, Vorteks, Infraction or Ventetta has a noisy gearbox then this is the video for you! If your issue ends up being the spur gear then there is another video about that here • Arrma 3s BLX Spur Gear...
    If you have a 4s car then the procedure will be similar but there are different part numbers. Many thanks indeed for watching. Please like and comment :-)

    Wow Pete, I'm impressed by your super fast screwing!!! 🤣🤣But seriously, great information here and good advice about how to maintain your Arrma! Not surprising the wear you get from such a high performance RC. All good as new again and ready for some more awesome bashing sessions! I might have said this before but I'm really impressed by the modular way that Arrma put their cars together, great designs indeed. All the best mate and I hope your weekend was a good one! 😎👌👍

      Oh yes I'm famously quick at screwing 🤣 These do really well considering that they get hammered quite often for an hour or more at a time. Oh yes I do like that these are easy to work on and really I'm planning to run them forever if I can. Hopefully you'll get to experience these at some point. I do love my little Tamiyas and Kyoshos but sometimes it's good to have trucks to really go nuts with. Cheers for watching as I know the information contained is of no help to you unless you end up buying one of these. Cheers for now 😁👍

      Hiya Rob. Oh yeah by the time I opened it up I'd done various test drives to get a little video of the problem so it was indeed knackered at that point. Yes, really well designed these so you don't usually have to take everything apart to do some maintenance. Cheers for watching mate 😁👍

    Hi there Pete, a super instalment of some essential maintenance of the awesome Arrma’s. Now, do you remember that cheap brushless set that I purchased from Banggood, that had loads of ‘cogging’ well, I’ve got myself a HobbyWing BL ESC that I’m going to attempt to install in my test car (yes the Typhon Mega) I’m going to see if the HobbyWing improves the ‘cogging affect’ or whether it’s the motor itself. I’m hoping to tinker a bit later in the late Spring, early Summer, as I’ve got my revised Left Hip replacement date in the mid of May 2023, so might have some time to grab some hand tools and have a play 😊😊best wishes to you and the family 😊😊

    • @PeteWylieRC
      @PeteWylieRC  Рік тому +1

      Hiya John. I reckon that the Hobbywing esc should work well as I've never had an issue with their stuff. These cars definitely need a bit of speed to get the best out of them. Hope your hip op goes well and you get hopped up too! I'm sure you'll be sprinting around after your cars in no time. Many thanks indeed for watching and your kind comments my friend. Best wishes to you 😁

    Pete you should get your replacement parts from Jennys RC, and they are significantly cheaper than retail, you just have to wait a week or so for delivery

      @Pete Wylie RC it's where I get all my spares from, they buy ready to runs and strip the down, so brand new parts dirt cheap👍👍

    this happened after a few years? Or... More recent. I've had my Big rock for 2 months and this just happened yesterday. But it also happened the day I upgraded my battery. I been running a 5000 Mah 50C 11.1V but I threw in a 8000 Mah 100C 11.1V after bout 10 mins, it began crunching gears after punching. I was running on 100% to see the battery life, and it clearly outlasted my rear diff gears. I ordered new ones, metal for like 36$ for the pair. This is my first serious rc repair besides having the wheels fall off (2 separate occasions before I thread locked them)

    • @PeteWylieRC
      @PeteWylieRC  7 місяців тому

      Oh right I wonder if your clutch is a bit tight so the gears stripped before the clutch slipped? These 3s cars are my go to bashers and I do get months or years of use before those gears go which is surprising given how quick they are. Yes the metal ones like in the 4s cars should be better. Thanks for watching the video and your feedback 👍👍

  • @eekrc
    @eekrc Рік тому

    Hey Pete...great video! I just bought a Granite...I'll be upgrading it on my channel using a hobbywing max10 sct esc and motor. Do you recommend keeping a spare ring gear? How often have you replaced gears in your 3s Arrma RCs?

    • @PeteWylieRC
      @PeteWylieRC  Рік тому +1

      Hi there. Ah cool, I love the Granite and the max 10 is a great brushless set. Well this is the first time I've had to do these gears in the Big Rock in 2 years of ownership. It depends how often you run it I guess. The spur gear wears out in a few months usually so it's good to have one of those in your spares. Many thanks for watching and enjoy your Granite 😁👍

    • @PeteWylieRC
      @PeteWylieRC  Рік тому

      The ones on the input gear are AR610001 and the ones on the diff outer are AR610007. You can find the part numbers on the Arrma site www.arrma-rc.com/en/interactive-exploded-view?pid=ARA4312V3
