Do you think Five Guys is too expensive for the amount of food/quality?
YES WAY OVERPRICED
But it tastes good!
@@Cocoatreat We will have to agree to disagree
@@clachapelle i live near mcdonalds, Burger King, and 5 guys……and trust me…..i have not been in Burger King in over 15 years……i have been to mcdonalds about 3 times in the last 10 years……i go to 5 guys at least 3-4 times per month……it consistently tastes great …..never had a bad experience…so far…. You get what you pay for…. Taking care of their employees is a plus….and i will support them…….i think I’ll get one right now!
Yes it’s about 33% more expensive than it should be but I do admit it tastes good.
Me and my friend used to go to Five Guys like once a week like 10 years ago. I remember a burger, fires and drink used to cost like $8. Now that same combo cost over $18. Nah, I'm good lol.
Bro what? Even in 2012, that costed me $15 lol
Back in 2007 to 2010 i would go everyday during my school lunch for like 7 to 10 usd
Now it's 18 dollars without the drink.
I agree $20 for a fry drink and a double burger I'm done
The food is good quality, but the $20 price for 1 burger, 1 drink and 1 small fry is ridiculous. I was okay with it when it used to be $12, but $20 isn't nearly worth it. Maybe it's just my area, although the competitors are thriving with much lower prices and great quality
I agree, great food, but way to expensive. In on Tennessee, and as you stated a few years ago, price not that bad. But now bring your check book!!
Wait till u hear bout this thing called “inflation”
@@bubble4448 Competitors are still keeping their prices well below $20 for the same meals, even when our shipments increase their prices for us. Good businesses know how to keep prices competitive while adjusting for inflation. In the end, $20 for a burger meal isn't going to last. I can't say which competitor I woke for, though realistically speaking no one's gonna go for a $20 meal when they can get it for $11.
I guarantee you think it’s ok to pay half of what you did for a McDonald’s meal that’s frozen garbage.
@@PyrosRubberDuck my point is the price you pay for 5guys today is the exact same as you did in 2015 when adjusted for inflation.
Literally payed 18 bucks for a double cheeseburger and small fries……..no drink……….. never again. Scam artists. Now we know why shaq is making so much money owning five guys restaurants
I quit eating 5 guys after I spent 20 dollars for a burger, small fries and a small drink
Five Guys free toppings is like buying $80,000 pencil that comes with a free BMW.
Try taking a family there... when they’re out of business they can blame their own greediness
Exactly!
The reason it's sooooo astronomical expensive is cause there are people out there willing to shell out the money.
They want $10.50 for a double hamburger when other fresh burger places like Culver's charges only $6 for a double cheeseburger. Their menu prices are simply too high compared to everyone else. Five Guys is too greedy on their profit margins and this will cause them to lose business.
Still doesn't explain why they charge nearly $6 for a tiny grilled cheese sandwich which is the size of something you'd find on a children's menu.
Because you can add all the toppings?
@@lameowizardOMG! All the toppings 😂
Ask your law makers. They make the policies, businesses do what they have to do to stay i. Business just as you’d be faced to do if you owned a business.
In Houston,Tx, just yesterday, wee paid $35.67 for two double cheeseburgers, one regular fry and two drinks that calculates to $17 + each.
Cannot believe I watched a 12 minutes long ad for 5 Guys!
This site is not accurate, almost all their videos are basically ads.
5 Guys is expensive for one reason only. They have 10 employees in that tiny kitchen to man 1 flat top and 1 fryer. Prep is done before open and there are minimal dishes (trays don't count). Don't get me wrong, I'm all for having extra help on hand but to expect the customers to eat that cost is reprehensible.
I think charging more to pay more people isn't really 'reprehensible'. Really if anyone is reprehensible its McDonald's who started using ordering screens so they could fire staff. So burgers cost 2% less made corporate 3% more and thousands are out of work. Doesn't sound good to me.
@@markr2616 When's the last time you were inside a McDonald's? There are always multiple people standing around the front counter., including a manager and cashier. Having an order screen and/or app like most fast food places do now, doesn't mean they're firing hard working people who want jobs. In fact, they're paying their employees more than ever.
@@augmentdj5451 Well don't take my word for it. See for yourself. Research McDonald's self service kiosks. You will see they were introduced nationwide in 2016 because workers were asking for higher wages.
The high price aside, the burgers are just thrown together so there falling apart when you open it up and it's impossible not to make a mess wile you're eating it.
That's why we go to In & Out
I was craving 5 guys before it was a restaurant.
💀💀💀
Giggidy
Gross.
6:06 Wait, cheese and bacon can be added without extra charge? The menu has those additions as being more expensive. Has this changed?
Five Guy's cost model makes sense. Spoilage and other waste are expensive.
But there is no way I would pay a premium price to help finance it.
@RickReviews That is the TRUTH . They're so synthetic it's ridiculous. The cheese won't melt. I've seen a test done and the cheese will soften and droop, but it will not drip .
Correction- peanuts aren't nuts they are legumes. Tree but allergies are not the same.
This is the real truth they are overselling what a burger actually cost you can go to the market and buy your own patties your own veggies for the same price you pay for one burger you can make five burgers
In-N-Out Burger only uses the freshest ingredients, hand cut fries and they have NO freezers as well, but are much less expensive than Five Guys ! I like FG’s, don’t get me wrong, I just visit INO more often due to the cost. 😎🍔
Just today in houston, texas insolent $20.59 on 1 cheese burger, medium 16 oz drink, and 1 small fries. $3 for a 16 oz drink and $5 for small fries. I could get 2 large combo meals at whataburger for same price. Wtf Five Guys??
Five Guys are definitely not worth the hype or the extreme price. I'd rather go to Carl's Jr. and get a Double Western Bacon Burger if I'm going to pay $10 for a Cheeseburger. In-N-Out sell fresh never frozen ingredients and fresh cut fries yet somehow manage to keep the price affordable.
Thanks. I wonder if the beef and vegetables are organic or not.
double cheeseburger before the pandemic was 11 dollars after tax here in CA, beyond ridiculous. Thats no fries, no drink. Good luck taking your family of four out without spending literally 70 dollars.
Time to leave CA.
in melbourne australia, i pay $6 for (a bacon double cheese + a chicken burger + a small fries + a small drink) in Mcdonalds, a FIVE GUYS double cheese burger only is $20. You do the math - the burger itself is even more expensive than a piece of angus rib-eye
I tried the double cheeseburger and fries. I didn't like either. Maybe I will try it again. Idk. Any suggestions about trying something else?
I bought a CampChef 3burner stove that came with a 1 burner griddle. Roasted mini potatoes, my own burgers with as many toppings as I want. Smashburgers are delicious. I am not sure where I can go out to eat that I couldn’t make just as tasty at home.
2nd! Love this channel.
I admit they tasted good but damn my money say no more lol 😂
Honestly 15-20 for a full lunch or dinner is expensive when talking about a quality burger minus premium items
Sadly I have not eaten at Five Guys despite having one local. Lot of people say the burgers are very good. I'm gonna have to make the order soon!
In my opinion, Freddy's Frozen Custard has much better burgers and they are 1/3 the price.
Go right now ! You'll never eat at McD's or any of those others. There is NO comparison .
@@brianwalker3171 never heard of them
They're nothing special
@@axiomist4488 Go to in n out. Youll never eat another overpriced 5 guys again!
I'd like to try them. I don't think there's one here in San Diego- yet. Considering what the usual chains, like Jack in the Box, Carl's Jr, Burger King and such cost now, Five Guys can't be that bad on cost. And, from what I've heard, their only direct competitor quality-wise is In-n-Out.
There are a few in San Diego....just google it... we go to the one in hillcrest, i love the food there....
@@stustuart7323 You're right, I could look it up. Hillcrest isn't terribly far from me (dividing line of San Diego/ Lemon Grove). I used to go to the Corvette Diner on occasion, so....
@@billh230 haven't been to the Corvette in ages....my husband and I used to go there....will have to check it out......assuming it's still there!
@@billh230 There is one in El Cajon at the mall. Never been there, but plan to check it out.
@@barneyevans6940 Nice. Thank you. Must be squeaky new- I didn't even see on their locations map. Located where the Sears was?
It's one of my favorites, but that was partially because of the prices they used to have for the quality. I can't afford twice the amount for something when wages haven't doubled.
Doesn’t in and out serve everything fresh? Even in and out don’t have freezers
I haven’t been to five guys in yeeeeeaaarrrs. They don’t really have locations near me
I guess this is probably one of the two burger places i go to in miami……..the first time i tried it was when i was at LGA airport……the burgers are consistent! I go there because its close to me…..i also like burger fi ….. i go to 5 guys probably 80% of the time…and now that i see the ingredients and that they take care of their employees… i love that!! Thank you 5 guys!!! I always knew you were special!!
They have the best burger in the world but the price is absolutely way to high
Even in the Cresent City, New Orleans, Louisiana with MULTIPLE FOOD CHOICES, we have two Five Guys locations.
This is why I eat at cookout u can get a whole meal and extras for 7-9 dollars you get a burger nuggets fries milkshake quesadilla or chilly dog
I rather have a Big Mac meal at 1/3 the price. Also nothing beats McDonald's fries...
A big mack meal is almost the same price and McDonald's food is straight garbage
@@dirtditch3 Same price? Where do you live man. Lol.
@@Kaijuus I live In new jersey and a big mack is 13 $s

It’s fast food, not a real sit down restaurant - that would be the only regular time I’d spend like $20 on a burger meal… when I tell you my jaw DROPPED the last time I visited, I swear - and I wanted the LITTLE burger, still like $18 if I wanted a COMBO. Highway robbery
I always order the single-patty "Little Hamburger"; I don't need the extra calories of the second patty. And I don't mind paying their prices; they're worth it.
No they’re not
Yes they are
Yeah, I believe that the 'regular' at Five Guys is a double. I need to remember to get the little hamburger.
they are only worth it like twice a year
Nah.
alternate title: Why Five Guys is Awesome
You get what you pay for at Five Guys.
>expensive
>bland
>awesome
lol
Nah,bruh I remember as a senior in ha.13 bucks used to be good for a burger and fries.Shake shake is better now, just wish they had more locations
Free advertising. Don't bother
I always order a small burger.
Because the regular burger is too much for me.
As for the fries. If I order a small fries with my burger, I struggle to finish it.
Excellent quality, the best in the business.
You must weigh like 90 pounds.
@@dirtditch3 Nope
I took a group of folks out today shopping. Afterwards we decided to go to five guys for lunch. After walking in and looking at the menu prices we decided to walk out and go to the sub shop next door. I admit it's been a long time since I've been to one of their restaurants but 12.00 for a cheeseburger only is crazy. I mean come on. It's just a hamburger. It's not rocket science or gourmet food. Totally ridiculous. I can go to my local grocer and get fresh extra lean ground beef, brioche buns, fresh toppings and make homemade potato wedges and feed a family of 5 for allot less than I would pay for two meals there
They went down in quality and service over the years , at least here in Utah...
My five guys i work at in illinois is consistent. Our district manager is ALWAYS around and does not mess around when it comes to attendance. 3 strikes and your fired, hes a perfectionist and it actually made our crew really reliable. My point is a good crew is dedicated to the brand and corporate five guys tend to be better than franchise ran five guys.
I guess I’m different because that’s exactly what I expect to be paying for when I go to eat. Kudos to them for actually charging people fo getting something.
Do the workers get paid good?
Prices just went up quite a bit in LA
Every time we push for lower prices we only get smaller portions, overwhelming pressure on employees or lower quality..... then Walmart was born LOL
Yeah so why is it so expensive now?? I still dont understand how a regular cheese burger, small fry and regular drink can cost over $20. You'll need a different excuse
They claim because "We use Premium Ingredients", i call bullshit Peanut Oil isn't premium, organic Avocado Oil or Olive Oil is, and they should use organic hormone free burgers too if they insist on charging those prices.
In n out tastes just as good for less than half the price
Not nearly as good but definitely a better value.
I love the hot dogs and Cajun fries but it’s a rip off they need to give you a ton more to make it worth the price! Hot dog is average sized and 10 bucks!
I went once and won’t go back for the price it’s NOT worth it.
Same here. Greasy, limp fries, getting a ton of them means nothing, when they suck. Loud, way overcrowded, with the crew constantly shouting and screaming at each other, it was like eating in a mosh pit. Granted, it was within the first month of its opening, but I'm not about to go back, to see if it improved.
@@markcollins2666 I understand my complaint was the cost I about had a coronary fore it to be a burger joint lol
@@jeffsmith-ze6wb,for the price, you can go to somewhere civilized, with a liquor license, TV's and you can hear yourself think!
@@markcollins2666 I have to agree with you.
@@jeffsmith-ze6wb, I just had such a bullshit experience there. And now I hear that this location is gone, in downtown Boston, where they should have known that they would never make enough, to pay the rent.
They are still over priced and In and Out is way better with a much better quality.
We went to get some burgers and the kid was rude and $60 for 5 burgers? No thanks
Anyone try The Habit? Great Burgers and Fries.
Just a reminder folks. 2 orders of In and out burgers is equivalent to 1 five guys burger.
Five guys used to be reasonably priced a decade ago. Just slightly more expensive than In n out and others. And I’m pretty sure they had the same standards back then too. So i’m not buying the quality and freshness of ingredients excuse to up their prices. They just got greedy. Last year alone I had five guys in Miami, Vienna, and Dubai. It’s overpriced everywhere!
Five guys prices are outrageous. Stopped going there years ago.
Cause it's fresher than typical fast food.
Since I only there maybe twice a month, the cost isn't an issue
I stopped by 5 guys and burger, fries, drink was over $20.. ridiculous. I went to In-N-Out instead, same quality in my opinion, double-double, fries and shake was $11
I really don't get the hype around Five Guys.
In the UK you can get a Burger just as fresh and chips are expected to be fresh and cheap so hearing an American fast food place charging restaurant prices for something that we can get already get that is fresher is just puzzling to us
Great burger and fries, but I can go to In and Out for half the cost. Haven't been to 5 guys in almost a year...
The cost and all those premium ingredients, and they can't spring for salt and pepper?
Always had great experiences at Five Guys except for one outside of Memphis, Tenn., where we went to a Five Guys and the order wasn’t done right, food was greasy & have not eaten there since then however after watching this video will give them another try.
I LOVE 5 GUYS.I HAD IT 2 WEEKS AGO&''MIND BLOWNED''I WANTS THOSE FRESH FRIES&BURGERS
Very good taste it is worth it
In reality we are only paying an extra $3-$6 compared to the same burger from other fast food locations like McDonald's. For those $3-$6 you get your burger cooked right in front of you, never frozen meat and made to order burgers so no meat warmer meaning the meat stops cooking which leave the inside of the patty juicy and pink.
I ate there today and the burger tasted very similar to burger king whopper. Not worth $11 for just a burger.
@@sparda9060 not even close first of all its way more meat maybe 2 or 3 times more. Plus I enjoy watching my food be made fresh. Burger King will have your burger under a heat lamp for an hour or have the cooked patty in a warmer so they can build the burger faster.
This video was brought to u buy the corporate heads at Five Guys
In n out manages to use fresh ingredients and it costs 1/3 as much as 5guys.
Smaller meals and limited toppings. Not as good.
It's not no reason other than greed and price gouging that five guys is so expensive I would never go there ever they have the same burger meat the same buns the same lettuce the same tomatoes as In-N-Out Burger five should be canceled
At least the quality of the food at five guys continues to be good, unlike at McDonald’s
Yaknow who also is consistent, fresh, and delicious but also doesn't charge an arm and a leg? In n Out
I also really like how five guys wraps their burgers in foil. It keeps the burgers hot and fresh and looks like a big hostess dingdong 😂
You mean smushed, deformed and soggy... yes, that's what the foil does. :)
@@b-l1969 I'm no it dont
I’ve been eating there 10 years. Their prices are no insanely high.
I ate there one time. Nastiest thing I ever tried to eat. Never again.
I work at a five guys and they are my family
Worst fries I ever had at Athens GA store.
me and my daughter, $40... the food wasn't $40 good, $15 at best
Paid meal on shift and 50% otherwise. Any fast food chain/restaurant should allow their employees at least one meal on their shifts. Of course for those that will say what if the employee orders the most expensive item in regular restaurants....give them a menu of the most popular menu items ordered.
@Mike S I posted this on a Costco video, they don't give any food allowance there. I was told "do you think Costco workers actually go hungry?" Personally, I am sure some go home to families they can't feed the way they'd like. I worked at a chinese restaurant as a teen. We'd be able to hit the buffet up and even ask for something off the menu at our shift end. It was a great benefit at that age.
I tried “Five Guys” once…….. Once !!!! Never again !!! Dry and tasteless - the next day I went to In-N-Out and have been a loyal customer with the “In-N-Out Urge” ever since !!!
Your lies are pathetic
finally it took up until 2022
Went there yesterday, Little Bacon Cheese Burger with all the way toppings, regular fries and drink. Came out to $24 which I think is pretty high. The burger is ok, love the fries which I feel they are very generous with. I notice I fill up quickly too and I had to force most of it down. I go there rarely though and I was just not in the mood to cook on a Saturday evening.
So where do you live? I would like to check that number based on your area/zip code. A "little Burger is only 7.09. I juat MAXED OUT ALL POSSIBLE TOPPINGS. $12.69 befoe tax. Nice try, liar...
$24? It’s $15 or so here 😂
@@philstuf he meant the entire meal with fries and drink. In texas its cost $11 for double cheese burger not including the $5 fries and $3 drink.
you geta lot of fries and free peanuts. But the burgers are super expensive and small (unless you pay way too much!). In N Out burgers are super small but they are way cheap. you can get many burgers at In N Out for one burger at 5 Guys. Every time I have gone to 5 Guys the burger has been over fried. Not horrible but not very good. Couple that with paying way too much and there is no reason to go there. But some are willing to pay way too much so they stay in business.
In and out is over rated FG the GOAT
In n out does all this too at a fraction of the price. Five Guys is a total ripoff
Burger, fries, drink, $20…lol never went back. It will be out of business soon
The price is the fault o the policy makers not the businesses.
Ummm...because there's one born every minute??
I cant eat there to kill for burgers juat because of the oil
I thought it was because they sprinkle them with gold dust
I get better burgers at Bad Daddy's. Haven't eaten Five Guys in years and if I do I eat their hot dogs because they taste better in my opinion
Best burger in the business
The burgers are OK but the Hot Dog is pure SHYT!
I’d rather spend $20 at 5 Guys getting a better quality of food and ingredients than the $20 you pay at the places that don’t put quality or ingredients first.
Profits are ^
😀 😃 🙂 👍
Generous portions my *ss. THey actually give less fries than theyre supposed to and the container is made small on purpose. Fresh ingredients is debatable and varies by location - also, you'd be dumb to not to already default it into consideration, and honestly the rest seems to be the obvious. absolute clickbait imo, dont waste ur time
That little cup is smaller than the small size paper pouch that McDonalds put their fries in lol five guy is a joke. I wasted $20.59 for a double cheese burger that tasted homemade from frozen patties at grocery store that's drenched in grease with smashed up soggy buns and soft fries. Oh and a small drink that costs $3.
