If it were a class, the class could be called Guardian simply because they have no class. There class item would not exist and there armor would be a sort of mix between all of them, but with more protective plating so that it’s more in line with a mortal. They would also get, at least in my design, a bonus to all weapon stats, mobility, resilience, recovery, and a minor boost to perks so that it’s out right better at base. (Gameplay wise you still have access to revives, but non of the light or dark ability’s. If an exotic has a non light or dark ability, say healing that’s not based on any one class, that counts as it’s own separate ability and is fair game.
Since you’re redoing beyond light, I don’t think you need to use salvation’s grip against eramis’s lieutenants. There are legendary stasis kinetic and heavy weapons as well as exotics like Ager’s scepter and cryostesia. You’re already suffering, you don’t need to be doing damage with a utility weapon on top of being lightless.

@@RyleeReloaded It was good, also to avoid breaking your ankles on places that aren't solid ground you can block with your eager edge sword to block MOST fall damage, you can also swipe with your sword when falling to reset your momentum.
Everytime I hear the Europa theme I cry a little inside. It's such a beautiful composition and there's just something about it that just hits so hard 🤧
You may not see this but use your sword swing to slow your fall rate when doing big falls like that, make sure to hug a wall before you do so Eagers doesn't hurl you into the distance and/or try guarding at the last moment. Eagers only wall-splats if you put it away while flying. Just some tips I picked up while doing my own lightless fun runs, hope this helps if you see it.

Idea for lightless guardians: We know using stasis is possible for lightless guardians, but make stasis super hard to charge up. Instead of stasis or light abilities, use real grenades, use an axe instead of knife, fist, or magic, and make every class use a roll instead dodge, barrier, or well. For healing, med kit. And jumping and climbing is more realistic. Scaling cliffs and every class has a rope they can throw to scale.
I came back to Lightless 1 and 2 to study the l o r e for a small project and just because it's cool, but god DAYUM i forgot how damn good this series is. super clean edits, very funny jokes, tense moments and some awesome voice acting. Super excited for Lightless 3!

Probably the only thing that would, from a gameplay and story standpoint, 'change' with the Deja Vu is the Guardian is far more jaded in regards to the Light, embracing the Darkness more and actually having Stasis for the end of BL and during the WQ campaign... because it's Lightless, not, yaknow... Darkness...less. Maybe that's the plan already, or maybe we get to see multiple deaths on tiny rocks back in Shadowkeep. Who can say!

Absolutely stunning video once again, and everyone involved has managed to make another masterpiece! That fall at the end tho… I always always die on those. It doesn’t look like it’s that high, or not considered flat ground, but it somehow does, and will always kill you. I suggest learning to Eager Edge/normal swipe right before hitting the ground to avoid any fall damage whatsoever. Different from not dying due to flat ground, and needs more practicing, but very useful when you find yourself without any more double jumps or lightless.
Beating every campaign in the game without any abilities like it's a walk in the park and then die to P I P E S is the most Rylee Reloaded thing imaginable

Speaking of gambit players being freaks of nature my friends were grinding out gilding Dredgen when they wiped out clan Elysium not once but twice. They became top 200 in the world for gambit.
Just finding these now and my god this story for the titan is drawing me in. The idea that light never returned to this guardian is so interesting. Honestly, it could've been interesting to have the titan only gain the darkness on those moments where the game is temporarily giving you it, as if the darkness was trying to win the guardian over into relying on it. So your guardian still ending lightless in the end is like the pyramids or Witness revoking it after deciding their not a fit candidate for it. I say this, on a year old video. This is so cool and I'm just happy to see the story that comes from these.

These videos inspired me to finally do something I've been thinking about doing for a while: playing through destiny 1 "lightless" (no upgrades or abilities). Recorded a few missions so far, but I think I'll leave out the "no deaths" part lol.
This was super fun to watch and the skill involved in this is amazing. The one gripe i have is the name of Eramis's first lieutenant. Its pronounced filax not f-ay-lanx, but me-lee is spot on.

Another great entry into this series. If you end up having it, since you're using eager edge and a sword a lot, I'd give Stronghold a try. I don't know if you're permitting exotic armor or not, but it let's you heal off of guarding with a sword. It also let's you guard without much if any penalty and that will help with any falls you may need to tank.

I'm low budget and underrated. What's not to love?
Idea for lightless guardians:
We know using stasis is possible for lightless guardians, but make stasis super hard to charge up. Instead of stasis or light abilities, use real grenades, use an axe instead of knife, fist, or magic, and make every class use a roll instead dodge, barrier, or well.
For healing, med kit. And jumping and climbing is more realistic. Scaling cliffs and every class has a rope they can throw to scale.
So dark souls?

I came back to Lightless 1 and 2 to study the l o r e for a small project and just because it's cool, but god DAYUM i forgot how damn good this series is. super clean edits, very funny jokes, tense moments and some awesome voice acting. Super excited for Lightless 3!

I was on-board for the last video, so I'm glad to see this released. Great production value, the voice actress is phenomenal and you've got me invested a ton. When you made the jump at 15:45 I swear my heart skipped a beat, now that's some immersion! Also we know as audience that something just HAS to go wrong when you start up WQ during the BL video. However, it does make me curious if the Guardian will make any different choices with their potential deja vu. Great series, I'm looking forward to the next part!
The Deja Vu is something I would love to explore further. It just means it takes a longer time to produce these videos!

Probably the only thing that would, from a gameplay and story standpoint, 'change' with the Deja Vu is the Guardian is far more jaded in regards to the Light, embracing the Darkness more and actually having Stasis for the end of BL and during the WQ campaign... because it's Lightless, not, yaknow... Darkness...less. Maybe that's the plan already, or maybe we get to see multiple deaths on tiny rocks back in Shadowkeep. Who can say!

I tried to make it like the first episode with the journey intro. Something both new and refreshing but calling back to the last episode. Especially when she says "I used to be one of them". Hits hard after coming off the last episode!

That fall at the end tho… I always always die on those. It doesn’t look like it’s that high, or not considered flat ground, but it somehow does, and will always kill you. I suggest learning to Eager Edge/normal swipe right before hitting the ground to avoid any fall damage whatsoever. Different from not dying due to flat ground, and needs more practicing, but very useful when you find yourself without any more double jumps or lightless.

Hearing the Red War music in the last part, and hearing Deep Stone Lullaby makes me wish I could go back to Red War and play it again the way it came out, and do all the things I never had the chance to do or complete, and do all the things I did do again. The content that was vaulted will most likely never return in their true glory, if at all. It was too good to be gone so soon

Just finding these now and my god this story for the titan is drawing me in. The idea that light never returned to this guardian is so interesting.
Honestly, it could've been interesting to have the titan only gain the darkness on those moments where the game is temporarily giving you it, as if the darkness was trying to win the guardian over into relying on it. So your guardian still ending lightless in the end is like the pyramids or Witness revoking it after deciding their not a fit candidate for it.
I say this, on a year old video. This is so cool and I'm just happy to see the story that comes from these.

These videos inspired me to finally do something I've been thinking about doing for a while: playing through destiny 1 "lightless" (no upgrades or abilities). Recorded a few missions so far, but I think I'll leave out the "no deaths" part lol.
This was super fun to watch and the skill involved in this is amazing. The one gripe i have is the name of Eramis's first lieutenant.
Its pronounced filax not f-ay-lanx, but me-lee is spot on.

Another great entry into this series. If you end up having it, since you're using eager edge and a sword a lot, I'd give Stronghold a try. I don't know if you're permitting exotic armor or not, but it let's you heal off of guarding with a sword. It also let's you guard without much if any penalty and that will help with any falls you may need to tank.
I am definitely permitting exotic armor. I just didn't think to use any. Hadn't had a problem until witch queen so I never equipped one.
So uh, Rylee looking forward to you doing the new light campaign again.
Also I tried to match up with you in The Glassway several times, but my luck be my luck I got matched up with people that do have the light...

a quick tip for large ledges is if you eager edge while standing you can swing twice while the buff is active

EDIT: Another tip for fall damage if you haven’t seen this one already. Guarding/blocking with a sword will negate a lot of, if not all, fall damage.
