Tall in the Saddle - Poker Scene

- This is probably the best scene in Tall in the Saddle (1944). Of the many B movies John Wayne was in this is the best.
Wayne's character Rocklin demonstrates the determination of a classic cowboy of the west. - Розваги
John Wayne....Balls of titanium!!
Well written and executed scene.
Love it when he comes back down stairs with his gun.
Best scene in the movie!!!
Wayne, Cooper, maybe a few others, just have to wear the gun, and not even draw. Wonderfully underplayed by everyone.
Russell Simpson, the old guy sitting on the right, was in many great Westerns, often as a preacher
There are some people you should not mess with.
Trouble is, you can't always know who they are by their looks.
One of the best long forgotten John Wayne movie. I love Ella Raines and they make good magic here. This is a fine wester, buy it from Amazon or whoever , it’s worth watching.
Definitly agree. This is a GREAT movie. I never tire of this scene and the aftermarth the next morning when Ella Raines comes after John Wayne for revenge.
That guy made the correct decision
"Everybody has a plan till they get punched in the face " Mike Tyson
Ella Raines was gorgeous and very sexy, and man what a Backside, nobody ever wore chaps better. The young blonde lady was simple Beautiful, Very underrated movie.
Yes Sir so true!
Ella Raines....WOW !
Great scenes
Wow, Cy Kendall playing a good guy
WHEN OH WHEN IS THIS COMING ON BLURAY.
Why would you even bully an unarmed man in front of witnesses? In the old west, your word and reputation is all you had. Clint was the loser even before Wayne's character came back down the stairs wearing a gun.
that's what a bully is ; he needs a big advantage before he does anything .
That queen was dead,
And Mr you would have been if the duke had a mind to , ha ha JW you was the bestttttt
I've never seen that movie. It looks pretty good.
It shows up on TCM periodically and on one of those off brand channels, GRIT, I think. It's well worth the watch. Good story, some fun moments, good action, some clever one liners.
@@65csx83 Actually, not long after I posted that I found it right here on UA-cam. Yes, I think it's a very good movie. Definitely the kind they don't make any more.
Great scene….
the duke did not make B movies after Stagecoach in 1939. get your facts right. everyone other than the guy who bet his hand against the duke was a quality character actor in many A movies as well, including Ward Bond.
Stagecoach was my favorite movie of his!
How to lose friends and NOT influence people! LOL
George Buller More like how to keep friends.
Don't really like westerns and Tall in the Saddle isn't a great movie but I agree, that is one of the best scenes in the history of cinema.
I actually came here looking for this exact scene.
The movie probably isn't that great, and youtube has a seriously trashed preview for it. But Ella Raines, man.
I just finished watching the whole thing, and I think it is a great movie. It is the kind that they truly don't make any more.
It's a great western! Under rated.
Ella Raines was married to ace fighter pilot Robin Olds.
You can go back to sleep now, boy, but thanks for dropping by.😂
This is a fun movie to watch. But don't try to figure out the plot. It is a rubic's cube. Who owns what ranch? Who is related to whom? Why does the whole town want to kill John Wayne? Does John Wayne even know who he is, a relative of the dead owner, or hired hand? What is the long letter at the end? Is there a will at the end? What does it say? When was it written?
In reality no one would have used his shooting hand to retrieve his money and taken his eyes off the guy that had just pulled his pistol on him.
Well
Brilliant scene where can I watch the full movie can any please tell me ?

@@65csx83 thank you 😊 🙏
a minor classic, not much action but a great storyline and script.
Not much action? Starts with a wild stagecoach ride and continues to rip. Never more than a minute or 2 between action scenes. Stan's place; card game; Arlie Harolday; face off in the street; retrieving his cousin's letter from Garvey, and that before the first attempt on him at the line cabin and that's hardly halfway into the movie.
Why was the Queen dead? Because it was seen?
Exposed card by the dealer is dead. Exposed card by a player remains in play.
tall in the saddle was not a b western

You said that in 2021 it’s now 2024 thanks for seeing the future
Wayne, whats so good about him , only reason he looked so big , hr always demanded a s mmmnall horse to ride , so yhat he looked like a big man ,
what a load of crap. He looked big because he WAS big. He was 6 foot 4 1/2 inches. And as he got older and heavier, he would need even bigger horses to carry him. So, your comment is just plain stupid, in addition to being wrong.
