I don't have a ton of good ones at my Walmart, but every now and then there's a treasure like this striped one! You're right, it's exactly like panning for gold lol.
Hi Erin, I love all those things you've got in the works! In the work-out works! 😁 The Stellan tee is one of my favorites, especially for less drapey white all-cotton tees. I made one with long sleeves as well. The Core tee is one I haven't gotten around to, but would like to do. I did finish that WBM Tropical "Rosebud Motel" shirt, and Sunday cut out a Reeta Shirtdress from some 3-yr-old stash fabric. 💪 Two new patterns will be after that for a couple of newer fabrics. Happy Wednesday! I do think using a rayon jersey for the stellan may have been a mistake, but I’ll make it up and see how I feel. I’m definitely not going to be able to roll the sleeves successfully because it’s pretty drapey. I like the core tee! It’s a good length and I love that the sleeves are really open, without the shoulder being dropped. I feel like this is going to be the summer of shirt dresses for you..way to dive into your stash! Too late, we spent the morning at the park and I’ve already melted 😂 I had to change when we made it home 🥵😖
@@ErinSews Yes, I've tried rolling the sleeves on my bamboo/cotton one... 🤔 I might try the cotton modal next - all cotton is really hard to find outside of the POP department. I do really like my drapey tees that have a more scooped neck, though. It must be a difference in the way they hang. And I guess maybe a narrower sleeve is better for those? Hmmmm............ BTW, the white cotton jersey I've mentioned came from Colorado Fabrics, when it was Denver Fabrics. (closed now) They had tables of rolls of knits - .99/yard. I thought I was being really wild getting 5 yards of several of them. The white cotton is all used. 😌
Cutting and prepping is half the work. I have just a few pattern pieces left to cut out a Lyra dress. I got most of it cut out last night. Using a really cool Lady McElroy cotton lawn and am excited to sew it up.
I’m going to attempt flatlock seams on my serger so fingers crossed it goes well and my activewear is comfortable! There are just too many fun fabrics and patterns waiting to be made- it’s hard to stick to any plans! Thanks for watching Diann, I hope you’re having a great week!

Great plans, Erin. I have lots of tee shirts I need to get rid of. I wear my clothes for way too long. 😂 Right now I’m working on shorts for me and baby outfits for a friend’s first grandchild. I have loved making the Monkey Bar skirt! They all look so different and were great to make in so many different themed knits. I regret that my granddaughters are too old for this pattern now. 😢
I also hold on to my tees way longer than I should. If I’m keeping my arms down so that the pit stains don’t show, it’s probably time to replace them 🫣🫣🫣 That’s so exciting! It’s funny to me that in most areas of my life I am a big planner, but for sewing I never make any plans at all 🤨 🤔 I am absolutely a list maker/crosser offer though and I totally hear you on the putting something already done on the list just to cross it off 😂 The look on your face when you wondered aloud if you cut the fabric the wrong direction 😱 - things only another sewer would understand!! Have fun with your tshirt extravaganza and I hope you learn a lot and find some patterns that work great for you and Adam!
Hey Michelle! I guess you need some area in your life to be reckless and have no plans 😂 Okay YES! The satisfaction of immediately having something done is so good. I also make a lot of "subtasks" if I have a lot of big things to do, so that I feel more productive. Instead of just "clean kitchen, " every appliance and surface gets listed separately lol. It's all a mind game.... The small moment of panic when I was worried I had messed up every single piece of that skort.....pure fear, as you know lol. Hi Erin, OMG OMG! I have that EXACT orange/hot pink flower rib knit on my cutting table today! I'm going to make a dress. Yes, I got it at Joann's. I'm kinda scared of skorts. I need to try them on at a store to see how they would look on me first. I'm dying to make S9929 too! I just need some fabric. Cut on the bias for drape. I just finishing making 3 simple "tees", if you want to call them that from New Look 6217. Literally 2 pieces. Love all your plans. It's nice to have projects pre-cut so you can sew whatever you like when you like. 🥰
That’s too funny! What dress are you making? I just finished our Mommy and Me dresses and the fabric is super comfortable to wear. Brady immediately wanted us to put our dresses on. Skorts would be really cute with some of your sneakers and a casual top. Maybe even the V1835 top! Having pre cut projects definitely makes it easier to just pick something up. I just have to make sure I’m diligent about marking things 🫣
On the skirt fabric...once its cut, whichever side you like is the right side...just be consistent and if it rolls at the edge, take that into account. Love the active wear sewing plans...wondering if I can justify some myself Is knitting active?
Thank you for the tip, and the push I needed to just pick my “right” side. I prefer one side over the other and will just go with that. Knitting is 100% active. Tons of hand and wrist muscles being used! Consider your new activewear me made justified 🤗
