Glad you’re making it your own! Thanks for the shout out Dave👍🏼
Gotta love color . The white works even better

Nice little build.
Couple notes on that ford 5.4 triton 3 valve engine.
It is critical to keep up on your oil changes at 3000-4000 mile intervals.
Or at least a couple times a year. Which ever occurs first.
If you do not, the oil passages that control the variable cam timing phasers get plugged with sludge.
The cam will phasers fail.
The repair is a full engine replacement, as it is cheaper than disassembling the engine to clean them, and replace the phasers.
Research it.
There is plenty of information on it available.
The other issue is staying up on spark plug changes.
If that is neglected when you do try to change them, they tend to break off in the cylinder heads causing a very expensive repair requiring special tools and extensive labor costs.
There is also lots of info on this issue.
If religiously maintained these issues can most likely be avoided, and they can be long lasting reliable engines.
I Hope this info helps you save major headaches and repair costs.
Ty for this comment! It made me check my oil and to my surprise, she was a full 4qts low 🤯
@@DaveOTG I like to add 2 or 3 Oz of seafoam to my oil 500 miles before the oil change to break down varnish inside the engine and flush it with the change. Only 2 or 3 Oz, we don't want to break too much loose at once. It's critical on engines with variable cam timing to keep up with fresh and clean oil.
@@DaveOTG
Wow. Glad that helped.
That could of gone very badly.
E series chassis never got the 3-valve engine. They all got the 2 valve.
Great vlog Dave.
Been vanlife living 21 years, well before the term vanlife!
I really liked how thorough you are in your presentation.
Also, I love the open room in your truck.
I like how you recommended vanlifers communicating and the wonderful potential for making really good friends. I agree.
Great blog Dave👍
21 years?! Wow where are you based out of?
Congrats kiddo. I like your new home. Better than the sienna, even though gas is so expensive. Way more comfortable. Your messy van reminds me of my own kid. Brings a smile to my face. Happy adventures Dave.
Awesome new home!
Are you looking for ideas on stuff to improve? Doesn't matter. I'll tell you anyway.
I think that bed takes up a lot of space when folded up. I'd be tempted to put another piano hinge on the plywood to make it into a couch shape.
Love the rig. Gotta look at the Happijac bed lift for easy bed setup. Get the flexible solar panels for more stealth. I thought the inside hooks were for a shower curtain setup.
I love the cable management! I’m definitely going to need one of those.
It's kept me much more organized!
Great you've upgraded your home on wheels! I like the idea of being stealth in the city... I've seen some other set ups similar to yours, actually in bigger panel trucks. I'd never expect to see someone living in one. Funny people don't think anything of a work truck parked in town, but a van they suspect a nomad and maybe red flag it. I think it's cool!
I WAS on the road, but had to detour for a while.
Super nice build - I've been wanting to upgrade from my SUV and tent, and this is (almost) exactly how I envision mine looking. Beautiful cabinetry - going to look pretty fancy with those Arctic Tern windows.
I'm so happy you've got yourself upsized into a new home, looking forward to seeing how it develops as you spend more time living in it. Your last camper was so ingenious! I watched it a second time recently, and sure enogh, no space was left un-planned. As we say in Scotland lang may yer lum reek! (Live long and prosper.)
🖖🏽
Nice box home! I live in a 1995 GMC van, but I'm looking for a 14 foot box truck or school bus. I like the fold up bed. I have a sofa from a rv, that folds out to a really comfortable full size bed. Thanks for sharing your ideas and home.
I am happy for you!! That build is awesome!! Beautiful home!!
Thank you Anthony!
Love your layout. So many are so overbuilt that you feel even more claustrophobic than you need to be, glad to see you kept the storage low and didn't throw cabinets up high. Wondering how you are avoiding mold on the bottom of your mattress, hopefully the way you roll it up when its not deployed gets enough air flow.
Mattress folds up. Plus plenty of ventilation and dry heat from diesel heater
Wow, I really like this build. Looking forward to the follow-ups as you add more things.
Dave, the build looks great. I also like your little detailed tips, and took notes.
I watched it all and took notes. I really like the build. Very nice.
Since you moved from a Toyota Sienna to the Box Truck, please let me know the gas MPG for each based on your builds and experience. I am very interested in a box truck (for space), but am concerned about the loss of miles per gallon. So, your experience with both would be good to know, since I like your builds on both. 🙂
Yhup I loss about 5-6mpg between with the box truck vs the minivan but the added comfort and ease of cooking etc has been worth the added cost. Hope this helps!
@@DaveOTG So, about what MPG do you get in the Box Truck now?

@@DaveOTG Thank you for your answers and for sharing what you do about Van Life (I am subscribed, liked your videos, and notifications on to help you with YT algorithm)
Awesome build and very creative!
Good looking rig got everything you need in it. I got a 30 foot bus I'm selling and I'm going small either a van or a short bus 3 window or window stay safe stay strong stay healthy God bless and enjoy life 🎄✌💖💪👨🍳🎅🚌👍
Wow, the most organized guy. I've got a couple new ideas thanks
Seriously an awesome build. Very impressed with everything you did!
I watch your Van videos a few months ago!! Just now checking this out!! Awesome truck. I'll be keep up now!! Love your videos
Very cool Dave! Would love to learn more about how much this build costs. Do you have a general number I can consider or a cost breakdown? Thank you!
You have a lot of good ideas. I need a portable office that will pull my 20’ camper. I probably will steal some of your ideas. Thanks
Crazy! As soon as I saw the inside I noticed you have same colors I used! The sort of sage green on the walls, and the wood ceiling! Exact same as mine!!! Love the new set up!
Oh, haha the white is nice 😊
What kind of van do u have?
@@DaveOTG it’s a Ford Transit Connect XLT
Perfect size for my pup and I
@@MinipinTian ohhh those are nice! I've seen some with pop tops as well
@Kaci oh! This is the only one I’ve seen that was like mine! Cool to know other people like the same colors even if Dave doesn’t!
Dave, best wishes for a happy holiday.
Can't wait to see the final set up!
WOW what a fantastic setup, Dave! (How have I not seen this since last December??) A really nice upgrade from the Sienna, altho you had that done up very well also. A few YT friends now have these box van buildouts, and without a doubt yours is the nicest (and kudos to Jacob also!). I'm now too old and too broke to head out in an RV any more, but love seeing just how nicely some of you guys have done the nomad thing. Congratulations and safe travels always!!
hey great to hear from you and hope you're able to travel again. Thanks for the message friend!
Love your vids! Very fun & informative! Really liked your van before & the box truck is awesome. I'm hoping to start a van-life project for myself soon.
Sidenote- I kinda liked that "hospital" green lol Keep the vids coming bro!
Super nice . A warm tan color would compliment your walls
I Really LIKE IT .. Looking at similar box trucks to do the same .. Great tour 😎
I suggest a 12v pump to evacuate the grey tank while driving or next to a nice grassy field or gravel area.
Vanna White is looking good. Can’t wait to see the video of the diesel heater! Trying to do mine today. 36 was too cold last night 🥶
I wouldn’t have the fold down on hinges. Just remove and put them aside so you can use the other side when not sleeping ☮️☕️
In my place. Motorhome living is luxury. I dream to have one too. Keep saving hopefully in next 2 years i can traveling in my motorhome like you
Congrats on the new mobile apartment. Looks great!
One more comment. I much prefer this to the transits etc. We are looking to upgrade from a sienna too. Those tall yuppy vans, which seem to rust fast as well, they just rub me the wrong way. And they sure are not stealth no matter what anyone says. I like your's way better.
Much more affordable as well ;)
Yes Great work, i love your set-up. i plan on doing the van life, in the near future. I'm looking forward to seeing for window work.
Don't know your miles but be aware at about 240,000 miles it's extremely common that you'll eventually need to replace cam shafts & both exhaust manifolds on that engine. If you can do it yourself parts are about $2K+. If you're dependent on a mechanic allow for $5K. Dealer repairs considerably more
Yeah it ain’t no Chevrolet 4.8, 5.3, or 6.0 Vortec all of which beats a 3 valve Triton every day. The E series chassis never got the 3 valve Triton. Plus the Ford trucks and vans are tighter in the engine bay than in the GM trucks and vans. GM trucks are much easier to work on than Ford trucks.
Very nice build! Had to chuckle about the "yoga!" The windows and monitor will make a big difference! Congrats on this new setup!
Total 180 flip with the Diamond Therapy. Digging it! Looks very nice, calming, and fresh! 🙌
Interesting 10ft box truck conversion - I am going to get my soon.
I love the vanlife and just watch other.?I myself live in an apartment ✌🏽
That is a great setup!! Looks like you're going to be very happy in it!
Your box-truck is so well thought out! I really enjoyed seeing it!! You seem like a really neat individual, someone I would make friends with if I met you randomly in the wild.
Really nice setup. I got some great ideas for when i set up my truck. Greetings from sunny Jamaica.
Jamaica in the building!
Solid build! Looks great
Love that van so much. Rocking a 2001 Chevy express 2500 but a box like yours is my next goal.
NIce upgrade! Good to see you are still doing it brotha! Keep it up!
Thanks Chuck!
It must be so nice to stand up!
I tried to get this vehicle in 2021 and I could find one. love it
Amazing can't wait to get my box truck apartment together.
I REALLY love your setup. Thanks
Nice set up man
I just love your box van build bro
Love it! Jealous now.
Great size vehicle.
Nice to see the new digs bro!! Mansion compared to the yota…🤣
Cheers to you and keep updating us as ya go!🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽
Respect, man!!
Okay. It is worth the wait Dave. Very cool. Love your new porch!
😂 tyty!
Great job, and good ideal.
I love it great video bro 🙏🔥🔥🔥🔥
Thank you for the video. Blessings to you.
Thanks for watching!
love the van!!
In case you're into tantric yoga, watch this video 💖
Sadly yoga is an occultism thing. Crowley. Ew. Stretching though is good and normal.
How much did you purchase it for? Does Jacob do this professionally or just as side projects? Is it registered as a car or RV? Just wondering how you did your insurance.
You can email if you like alt.life2x@Gmail
Awesome upgrade, Dave!
Very cool! Congratulations!
Thank you Rosemary!
Brooooooo (shoulder dance). Love your new home!!
LFG!!!!
Impressive set-up. I myself am in God's waiting area, lacking the funds but love the idea. The tv opposite the bed will clash with the surf board unless you put safety straps up, good place to view from tho. Have fun with your life and travel safe on the road.
Nice build.
I wonder if you could retain the stealth factor and put windows on the roof... move the solar.. I have a 12' box I'm working on and want a movable/Murphy bed
Sure you can do whatever you like. A sunroof is awesome but I still like to be able to see what's going on outside without a bunch of cameras. If anything you can put a metal grate/vent on the outside of the windows that pop open when in use (for stealth).
Brilliant design.
That a nice setup✌️
You are so fricken handsome and when you took your shirt off at 7:37 you sure made this old lady want to come hug up to you!
Okay at 16:55 you mentioned Netflix and chill. That’s generally not my style but ngl, you definitely bring out the thirst, I think I’m going to need to make an exception bc Sir, you are hot! 🤤😉😘
You're making this old man blush 😅
@@DaveOTG I wish I could have seen that. 😉🤭😊
Although you definitely don’t look old!!
Rewatching your intro @ 0:40 bc you are just so good looking!!
Love it
I want to do this . Just saving up for a truck . 10' hard to find because can't afford a new one.
Check out my "1 year of Vanlife..." video. I explain how to find one
Stealth means No windows.Congratulations.
Terrific!
Great build 👍👍👍
I think everybody wants to know who the designer of your van is and where is he out of so we can maybe have something designed from himgreat tour
Great, his work and info is in this video: ua-cam.com/video/zDxrKMFzetw/v-deo.html
Very nice build
Love the setup! Where is this video shot at. I'd like to travel to a beach in my van someday. Any tips? I'm from Oklahoma and have just finished converting my e150 for traveling.
Southern California (and despite what ppl say, the area is very van life friendly)
@@DaveOTG ok great. Thanks!
nice setup
Did you install the ssmall doors on the sides?
Yes Jacob did
the windows will make it more livable but no longer stealthy
wow
What’s the weight capacity of the 3 fold down bed platform
I love it, so damn awesome!
Good for the weekend no shower
I have onboard hot water heater and I go to the gym
Nice
Huntington Beach near Magnola?
🎯🎯🎯
How has the Lavaner Pro heater been holding up? Any issues or smooth sailing?
So far so good! No issues
Where did you get lavender pro heater
Link is in Description
What is the inside height of this van? And where can I find one?
6'7 but after building 6'2. I found mine int fb marketplace
While you’re staying in the city where do you park at night?
There's many places you can park from residential, commercial, industrial. I explain here: ua-cam.com/video/K7ES2iNvlno/v-deo.html
How wide is the inside of the box?
The truck is 19ft or just box?
I have lots of insulation so mine is about 6'2" width inside and it's a 10foot box . . .I literally state this in the title lol
Link for the lights?
rechargeable led lights: amzn.to/3swYytw
Nice set-up, hi tech. Too bad about the gas mileage and it's only going to get worse.
Perfect excuse for me to get an eBike ;)
What are you paying for insurance?
I heard that box trucks it's pretty expensive
If registered as commercial vehicle it's expensive, but mine is registered as an rv. Drastically reduces my dues
Very cool
is it 138 wheel base n overall legnth 223.3 inch?
That sounds right
