This is one of those movies that my mom chooses not to watch because to her, it’s too chaotic. I also remember when I watched this movie back then, I laughed out loud a lot. Now that I look at it now, my first thought is “How is this a kid’s movie? There’s so many adult jokes in it.”
I actually remember watching this movie on DVD when I was a kid. Me and my brothers quoted it a bunch. I especially liked how zany Mike Myers was as the Cat in the Hat, he was just having so much fun with this role.
When I saw this movie for the first time I laughed and Fun Fact :Mike Myers was inspired by the cartoon Top Cat, Bugs Bunny, and Bert Lahr's Cowardly Lion in The Wizard of Oz, Love the reaction !!
I haven’t seen this in YEARS! I barely remembered anything about it but as soon as I saw that you were reacting to this I immediately clicked on it because I knew that the combination of your chaos and the cat’s chaos would be too good to pass up 😂
I'm not exaggerating when I saw that I love this movie. I don't think I entirely see what makes it bad (if I had to guess, they tried to incorporate Mike Myers's humor like with Jim Carrey for the Grinch). But besides that, I love the costumes and set design so much in this film, and it's the stupid fun of it that stays with me.
I've been wanting you to react to this for two years ,my favorite part of this movie is the part where the cat chops off his tail hilariously funny and ironically quotable
This movie is a HELL of a trip. Of strange Mike Myers fun. Not fun fact: Mike Myers didn't wanted the part, but his Universal Studios contract didn't allow him to walk away.
He looked like he enjoyed playing cat in the hat. Or maybe it’s because he had to sit in a seat for hours on end just to get the cat make up and all that on him.
I know Joan planned that whole day, I mean, she wasn’t on board with the whole sending Conrad to military school so instead she called cat in the hat to help straighten him out. Have you ever wondered why Mrs. Quan was so tired throughout the movie, because she overdosed on Benadryl because she knew a giant cat would be over!
3:34 I got an obituary story for yall. My name is Taliyah. It got read as Tequila. That was about 6 years ago and still a story that isn't lived down 😂
As bizarre as this movie is, it is pure childhood and an absolute cinematic masterpiece. It breaks the fourth wall in the finest possible ways. It's truly enjoyable to watch. It's hilarious. It is highly underrated! Despite its light-hearted and fun approach, the film garnered some controversy upon its release for its departure from the original story's charm and innocence. However, it accurately captures the spirit of Seuss's chaotic and imaginative world. The CGI is fairly impressive for 2003 standards. I used to enjoy seeing what bizarre contraptions the Cat could conjure up, and of course, the Mother of All Messes fascinated me. One of the greatest films of all time, with powerful and emotional scenes. I like how the children's problems connect to real-world problems, rather than how movies imagine life is. Conrad learned responsibility, and Sally learned to relax and have fun. I feel bad for anyone who found this film frightening as a child. This shit has always been hilarious to me. I could watch this movie high and die of laughter. I don't care what anyone says, this movie is amazing, and not just because it's hilarious; I also think it offers an excellent message for children, which is to have fun while remaining responsible. As a modern masterpiece, *The Cat in the Hat* stands as a testament to the power of creativity in filmmaking. The film's message of embracing fun while learning responsibility is timeless, making it not only entertaining but also subtly instructive. It encourages children to explore their creativity, understand the consequences of their actions, and most importantly, to find joy in the everyday moments of life. This film is truly one-of-a-kind since it includes so many unique elements that add to its greatness. *The Cat in the Hat* is a modern masterpiece that will go down in history.
I remember seeing this movie when it first came out in theaters and my dad thought it was the funniest thing in the world but my mom thought it was crude and never wanted us to watch it again. I remember the reviews for this movie were terrible and the audience score was really bad as well but I'm happy that now that has a cult following and last Halloween I was even invited to a Halloween party where was basically the Cat in the Hat cosplay
This film was actually not received well. Mostly because people were confused about its tone and the age demographic. Since it's essentially a children's book but the film had a lot of adult themes/ jokes throughout. When I saw it as a child though I freaking loved it 🤣 I can still quote parts after all these years 😂
I know it’s not great but I love this movie. So many memories watching this as a kid and honestly I love it more as an adult due to all the jokes that totally went over my head as a kid. I think it’s so funny and loved your reaction
Cat planning all along about Conrad and Sally need get their priorities straight whole entire time. This movie taught me and everybody lessons about being responsible and know when enough is enough. Pay attention to find out what's going on around you.
When I was a little kid I was pretty excited to go see this in theaters, but the day of my aunt talked my mom out of it, and I felt so betrayed. Years later I finally got around to seeing it, and afterwards I was so dumbfounded at wtf I had just watched. Thank you so much aunt Brenda for speaking up that one fateful day.

This movie was received so terribly that Dr. Seuss' widow banned anyone from making live action remakes of his work (the grinch came out before this)
And then Hollywood said “you know guys, she didn’t say no animated remakes of his work” and thus “The Lorax” was made
