I know it is a bit random but where should hi hats and cymbals be in the stereo field?
Hey Zen, what´s the outro song? Shazam doens´t get it
Rudelies Falling Remix/Reboot
If they aren't hitting with the kick you can pan them and make them a bit wide.
Thank You! :)
you don't find your sound
your sound finds you
Deep...
in soviet russia only
Sweet old meme lol
dats deep..
In mother russia dragon does not breath fire, fire breaths dragon.
I think KSHMR said this once: The very small things and habits you have when you produce all add up to your signature sound.
For example.... do you stick a kick on the end of your drop? Do you compress your synths in a bus? Do you tend to stutter your melodies a lot? Do you lowpass your bass in the intro? Do you add a small boost at 1K while eqing your vocals?
In my opinion, I think very small things like this are what makes us all different from each other. 😃
VZ Matthews Exactly.
KSHMR knows ✌
Everything you said has nothing to do with finding your own sound 😄
Brahhh... U made me rethink my production life choices lol
I found my sound, it was hidden behind the couch.
I know brother we had difficulty with that.
😂😂On point 😂😂
It was hiding in clutter... Well, you gotta rearrange things up and find it out...
Always the fucking couch
Was it a fart?
i love every genre and this puts me in a shitty situation as a producer :/
This !!!!
Facts
ShuffleZombie13 i have an idea; make every album one specific genre.
Take all the up thumbs
@@tyblean6915 I've been releasing singles, had that same idea for longer projects.
Each albums going to have it's own sort of sound vs constant singles never knowing what to expect. It's hard to narrow down an audience with such a wide variety of music
when i was a kid, my parents had cds with eurodance music and later i was exposed to latin/romanian house music (inna, mr saxobeat, etc) but I liked the beat and synth more than the vocals. when i discovered SHM's song greyhound i fell in love. from then i never went back from edm!
awesome story. Mines was Darude Sandstorm and cumbers jaja
Sandstorm = TUNE!!!!! :-)
wow you put my story to shame :(
Sweet old meme same stuff with me I started out listening to death metal but make future bass so I can have a very unique variety of sounds
Heh, my mom also played cumbia growing up! I used to not think much of it as a kid, but nowadays I go days with Los Angeles Azules or Sonora Dinamita on repeat 😆
how about just making what you hear in your head ? thats like 100% the sound of you :D
you're right bro! :D
HOLY SHIT! I never thought about this;-;
Themoviea ppp
No it's not, a lot of your thoughts would be influenced from sounds you've heard around you
AkeemHimself glad someone else said this
This is good advice for any musician. I played 6 string guitar for 10 years! I was still garbage. I picked up a standard 4 string bass and I've been tearing it up. My music is a part of me. Its crucial that I have music in my life.
Great video Zen!!! Just what i needed!!! I think i am ready to start making complete songs and this tips help alot!!!
#2 is a really good tip, a few months ago I switched from progressive house to trap, because I really felt really limited in that style and now I'm full of fresh ideas for new tracks
4:38 motivation!💪
I come from screamo hardcore bands and fell in love with Dnb and all edm ...so now I don't listen to anything but my own music and I love it ,I do it to stay original as much as possible
Perfectly good tips, nice job Zen!
Inspiring man. I was always on the fence between genres, interesting to know these artists indirectly forged their own genres by doing their own thing.
what can i do to transfer the old genre to the new one, everythings been done,
progressive house to deep house, well thats essentially future house.
what about progressive to trap, well that's essentially future bass.
Use sounds differently. Go make some acoustic music. Try out different tricks
Zen World hip hop and dubstep
Daniel Hillegus there will never be a moment when everything has been done bro, keep your mind open
James Jr already done. Classic UK dubstep with rap
I am an indie guitar singer songwriter who plays jazz saxophone and is studying classical violin and likes to sing neo soul/rnb. When I’m writing there is rarely some music to reference to see if I’m doing it right so you just have to be confident enough to lose sight of the shore and build an island.
Favorite tip: to have fun! The moment i have fun and dont give a. f*** about what anybody think is when i will find my sound and i will have fun making music😍
Love you dude! Your advice always gets me motivated to produce in the mornings.
Nice! You clarified this out really well
The last one is working for me 😋 to be honest producing is really just a really cool and creative way for me to get my feeling and ideas into reality . so having fun is supposed to cover the whole process of making my track unique , that when I listen to it I should be like "yeeah this is is good" or "I like that a lot" ... because the more I feel like the track is going were I feel it should then I'm happy . thank you for the great advice ma man ✌👦
Thanks so much zen world for you chanel , i learn to much this last mouth with your tutorial :)
Zen good as always Bro. Was really inspiring.

Thank you!
*Has been listening to hardstyle since fifth grade* Go back to listening to the music you listened to in high school.
Wow, you are so awesome. I saw your video's about experience from another producers, but I stuck with finding my own sound. I am afraid, because I sometimes use mainstream samples like the flanger uplifter, VES2 Impact 34 and stuff.. Now the key is just: *combine*, thank you for giving me so much inspiration.
spot on
Thanks bro for always helping!!!

Don't know you but I love you, bro. Thanks for all the help. - I just started getting into this producing thing and finally made my first song I'm really proud of. If you ever even see this and you're curious, I go by Local 528 on soundcloud. The song I'm talking about is called 528 Love. Thanks again!

❤
Who's remix is playing in the background? I like it
Alesso - Falling (RudeLies ReBoot)
The drop is real good
whats point of having your own sound if labels want their own style sounds ?
Nika Gvelesiani then find the label that wants your style
Glory. Whats the point in making music for labels if fans hate it ?
Then make that generic shit it will help you to get signed but you will never be able to justify yourself as an artist.
I love ALESSO background song!!
progressive trance does that dubstep stuff in their bass lines. like the thiq saws ect
when did curbi produce melbourne bounce ? :D
Having fun can be the hardest
number 5, thats the main ingridiant in life ;-) have fun.
When he says to go back to what you liked in high school, but you aren't even in high school yet
nice
I'm literally just waiting for everything. I have my own sound and everything. Running out of time too.
Lol, I'm not good at sounding good sonicly, I usually have a good idea but I end up failing on the actual making it part. But I'm still new since it's only been like 8 months since I started so I probably still have a lot of practice ahead.
I'm just confused on what to make because I like a lot
Same lol Like ever genre! What I have been doing is just picking a genre and then producing and producing until I feel I have nailed it
what is this track its fantastic
Keep helping us out G 🤧
"Go back to what you listened to in highschool" Thats was during the dubstep boom haha!
Have fun and ball out!
