    useful video, thanks. Can I add some value though for those not too familiar with the CRV..
    Firstly you can connect a scan tool and check for correct pressure on high side, the pressure sensor is a 3 wire so the sensor measures the high pressure in real time.
    ...bleeding pressure from the low side filling port only tests if there is pressure there, not the correct pressure, which would be a high enough pressure in most cases.
    Your voltage the checks AC compressor clutch which, can be changed on it's own.
    thanks for the upload.

    What year is this? My 2005 CRV doesn't have wiring even close to that, Can not See any wires but a harness going over it that has like 7-8 wires in it.

    I love your simple to the point explanations! My problem (same exact car) is there’s no power to the a/c inside the car. I turn the dial and nothing happens. The fuse is good and I replaced the relay. Any other help?

      Yup!!! U can even check from top but it’s best to check right from the bottom So u know it’s makes it to the compressor

    Does that confirm it's the compressor and not the coil or could it be the coil still? And if you had no power there, would it be wiring or at least something else upstream from there?

    • @RBTheMechanic
      @RBTheMechanic  3 роки тому +1

      It’s the magnetic coil but u will have to replace the whole clutch the dealer sells the part alone but 3 times more than compressor price

    Hi, I have a problem with the AC on a Honda CR-V 2.2 IDTEC, namely ... when it stays in place the AC works, but on the go no ... what a problem it would be ... thanks.

    Long shot here with a 2 yr old video. all is similar EXCEPT I test power @ the red side of the connector (car running & car side of the harness) and no power, but full power on the wire 2 over in the harness. as in the opposite side of the red had 12.5v. Does this still follow your bad compressor In your opinion, or something else. THX bro.

      @RBTheMechanic thanks for the reply. I feel like it's dialed in to be a bad compressor. I didn't do the ice trick though.

    About that black relay, that does seem to go out fairly early, probably super quick if you live in a hot climate. Plan on replacing it, maybe just order one ahead of time and leave it in the car. This is almost a guarantee to fail part. Mine failed early, around 100k, this is in cold climate, I imagine in a hot climate it could be 50k.

    Help me understand, Why power on the red wire means faulty compressor. You used an electrical light to test compressor and the light was blinking meaning power. Help me under how that means faulty compressor. I’m not a mechanic I’m just a diy mom helping my son with a compressor issue. Thank you for any help.

    • @RBTheMechanic
      @RBTheMechanic  2 роки тому +1

      No it wasent blinking maybe camera effect but. The compressor had power and the clutch didn’t enagage… alll it needs is power and it has ground from chassis

    • @jaimeduran3378
      @jaimeduran3378 2 роки тому +2

      Basically power is reaching the compressor. So that would led one to believe that the compressor has what it needs but it is still not working. Therefore the compressor must be bad.

    I did the same test on my CRV today. My test light didn’t do anything, but the fan turned on every time I touched where the red wire connects. I had the engine running and AC turned on. Any ideas?

      It’s a 2008 CRV. Sorry, I didn’t see you touched the red wire. I disconnected the plug and touched inside the plug. I am pretty sure the compressor/clutch is bad but am wondering if the test light should have come on.

    I am curious how did we validate this was not a clutch issue? I have read that there was a service bulletin for 07-11 CRV regarding that...f01.justanswer.com/clmcr8/9713d786-4797-4430-a811-92742d786718_bulletin.pdf. I am trying to identify this myself if the issue on my CRV is the clutch or compressor!

    • @hellagrant
      @hellagrant Рік тому

      Good point, but if it is just a clutch, you mind as well change the whole compressor. Wouldn't be much more money and probably a safe bet.
