Growing up in Toledo, it was unique to live in an Ohio city that was about half Michigan/half Ohio State fans. Only in Toledo could you get this experience!
My girlfriend was in college about an hour from our town. I told her I’d be there after the game. She said me or the game. At 18 the game made sense…still kinda does tbh lol
I believe Troy Smith was a better player in 2004 and 2005 because he would run more often. His ability to scramble is what made him especially dangerous. In 2006, in an effort to prove he was an NFL QB, he just wouldn't run as much, he tried to be primarily a pocket passer, and he lost a step. That wasn't his game. Then he put on bad weight before the bowl game and he wasn't ready for that game at all. All that aside, he was a great QB. Maybe the best QB ever for Ohio State.
If someone has great memories of this game, great, keep them. But everything about it just felt off to me. I hated it wasn't a noon start (been watching The Game since the late 1970s). (I'm an unapologetic traditionalist). Got impatient waiting for it (and I live on the West Coast). And the game flow was weird. We'd go up 2 scores, they'd knock it to 1. Repeat. Never felt we were going to lose. Strange for a 3 point final score. Getting boat raced by Urban erased it completely for me.
@@Whargoul100 they did steal it don't they spell Ohio today Michigan's the want to come up with spelling Ohio on the football field and then they have a song that they adopt and hang on sloopy I don't understand what that has to do with OsuckU program but okay
@@mateea9663 Michigan should Sue Ohio State for stealing I'm just saying how stupid Ohio state is everything they do some other team has done it already that would be funny if Michigan stopped them from spelling Ohio by rights they really could
I'm a Buckeye homer, but I have a hard time looking back at this as the Game of the Century when both teams went on to get completely drubbed in their bowl games. Seems really myopic.
Because this was the actual national championship everyone knows these were clearly the best 2 teams in the country this year. Hard to prepare for that then play another game after
@@Bonelesswatrmelon1 I can see UM getting beat after the let down. OSU was in the mix, but not nearly as good as Fla. BTW: Bo dying the night before was a tough distraction for UM.

Columbus is similar SMH
@@larryearl4110 no it’s not 😂😂 if they see Michigan tags they might attack your car especially on game day
@Larry Earl Yeah, about .5% Michigan fans and 99.5% Ohio State fans similar.
Don’t got no other reason to life in Torso

I've driven all over Ohio. The ONLY place worth going back again is...CEDAR POINT:))
This has to be the biggest rivalry in all sports...collegiate or pro!
Thanks Shawn Crable
Right. That was a huge blow at the time.
exactly I was in my second year of college & We had the game in the bag if he didn’t hit Troy Smith helmet to helmet
@@ballybrad504 Game in the bag? Lol
@@clearlycaribbeanreb2895 lol not in the bag but we were only down 3 or some shit I can’t remember
@@ballybrad504 both teams couldn’t stop each other so if Michigan got the ball back more than likely they would’ve scored the game winning touchdown
They need to play hells bells when they come out this year
From further inspection that part of the video is not from that game. They did not rock those sleeves.

It will definitely be a different outcome than what happened in 06

Ain't that something the Ohio State marching band stoled spelling Ohio from Michigan
Stoled... Must be from wishagan.

"stoled spelling Ohio". One of Ann Arbor's scholars?

@@Bonelesswatrmelon1 lol what? You have almost 5-6 weeks to prepare for those bowl games. Big 10 got embarrassed that year. Florida was just better.

Nothing else matters except beating UM always. The next game has no bearing on how I feel about this one.
I’m a Michigan fan and I know for a fact if Ted Ginn isn’t hurt that game is totally different. Them losing the bowl game doesn’t mean a thing
LETS GO BUCKS MICHIGAN SUCKS HAIRBALL DOESNT STAND A CHANCE BEAT TTUN!!!!!!!
Hell Yeah! GO BLUE!!!
AND THEN WENT AND GOT MURDERED IN THE BOWL GAME A BIG GIANT SHIT ALL DOWN THE FIELD
