The helmets and biomechanical nature of things is obviously a good start but there's other stuff too. The story starts with the main characters, a group of warriors, crash landing on an island. The first part is in a jungle and seems to be about a group of soldiers fighting one thing when it suddenly turns out something else entirely is going on and then the next part takes place in a city. The main characters' powers are shown by physical changes and include strength, speed, shielding and invisibility. It's funny that in the game, the Rahkshi looking guy was in charge of the Makuta looking guys while in Bionicle it was Makuta who made the Rahkshi.
The Rahkshi are suits of armor animated by kraata, and the Ceph also appear to be squishy creatures controlling a a suit of armor.
