I was in my sewing room in the basement and fell. My husband and son helped me up, upstairs, and into bed with my heating pad on my back, plus 2 lidocaine patches and a pain pill. My husband is making "help I've fallen and I can't get up" jokes and making cookies. But I turned on UA-cam and see a new video from you, best medicine for a sore back. ❤ Sorry, I can't run downstairs and get my ruffle foot, but I believe they no longer have the turning knob, if I remember correctly. Thanks for being my entertainment today. I was going to make an extra large hot pad, had it ready to quilt and went to put my walking foot on and wanted to move a light when I missed my chair. Just call my Grace.😂
Hi Nikki - wow what a big undertaking but so nice of you to volunteer your time. The bears turned out so cute. Thanks for all you do and of course the videos ! Cheers from Canada.
If I was cutting all that toile, I would just fold it back and forth and avoid the cut each time, and then rotary cut the ends all at once. It would probably waste a little bit save on the wrist 👍. I love your channel and always learn something. Thank you! 🧵🪡
Those came out great! The ruffler attachments are just based on the foot style, so most late 1800s to modern Singer and Pfaff machines take low-shank, except for some of the 60s-70s Singer machines that take slant shank feet. Of course there are a few other machines like Kenmores that can take high shank, but those are sort of rare these days. I have rufflers for all my machines. I use them a lot, along with the hemmer feet.
Yes, please, to the pattern for an 18” doll! Giving my daughter one for Christmas and would love to make them matching tutus. ❤️ Great video as always!
Love the bears in tutus! Note: anything you use to thread ribbon, elastic, drawstrings, etc. through an opening can be considered a bodkin. The metal one that has a pointed end can also be used to make holes in leather or similar material for stitching, buttonholes, or applying grommets or snaps. Those long flexible ones are now on my wishlist! ☺️
All so cute! Love ballerinas and their very hard work. They look incredible graceful 🩰. I used to have a ballerina Barbie… with the pancake tutu, white and white ballet shoes… a long long time ago…and I spent my days as a child imagining myself one. 🥰 I have a singer sewing machine, a quite modern one, bought it around 2/3 years ago. When I do a basting stitch… ( long stitch with the loosest tension) always gathers everything! 😅 ( was great for project dress a girl!). It’s great but I haven’t worked out HOW not to having gathering just in case I need it. 😅😅 Thank you for sharing, great job 🎉🎉. Love the bears 🐻.
The tool you used for the elastic is called a “Drawstring Threader” and the way you secured the elastic into it was correct. There is a UA-cam video on it by Dritz.
I too am a huge nutcracker fan. This year our christmas theme is nutcracker. So, I've been thinking on how to quickly make some nutcracker ornaments for my little family.
Ohmahgah🤩!! I must make that nutcracker pillow pal. I will be on the lookout for it in ur etsy shop. Thanks for always sharing and teaching us. I enjoy each and every one of your videos. You have a very warm and friendly personality.❤. Keep up the great work and congrats on ur YT plaque!🎉
The bears are so cute. My Janome has a gathering foot that I have yet to try. Good idea to try it to make tutus for my Granddaughters American Girl dolls.
First 5 minutes and I learned a ton! What's funny is that I don't know how to sew but.... I just converted my embroidery/sewing machine to just do sewing for me so that I can learn. Yay! Thank you for this great video.
I'd rather have basic instructions with a waist measurement to tulle needed formula then a set pattern. That way I can make a tutu for whatever/whomever I want.
Beary sweet project! Congratulations to both of your daughters! ❤
Hah! Didn't know my teddy bear needed a tutu!! I think I will be trying this!! Thanks and yes, I have a ruffler.😊
Isn’t that awesome I will play with my FW ruffler - the bears are adorable❤
The ruffler foot! Magic!!!!!

I have a Featherweight and it came with a ruffler too! Thank you for showing us how to use it! Excellent!
Nice project. And your family is so great to help. So happy to see this video. I’ve been missing. ❤

I think it is called a Cording Threader. Teddy Bear tutus & ear bows are so darling!

And THIS is why I read comments! Thank you!
So nice of you to do this for your daughter’s school!
Of all the shows my daughter did in ballet, Nutcracker was by FAR my fave!!!

It will be here next week!
@@PinCutSew woohoo! Excited 😁❤️
Thank you for showing the ruffled attachment. I'm going to try mine out... Soon.
How nice of you to do that❤️I believe that the ‘thingie’ is just called ‘Flexible Drawstring Threader’..? Break a leg, Nathalie🥳❤️
😍😍😍Aha! the veil has been lifted!
Yay, I can't wait for the nutcracker pattern

Very cool, Nikki. Very.
Great job! So cute
I really enjoyed this video; y’all are such good company. The featherweight machine is so beautifully art deco in its details. 🧸🩷💜🩵🤍
Sew charming!
I am curious where you ordered the bears from? Those would make great donations for Toys For Tots or other organizations.
The ballet ordered them, so I’m not sure from where, but the brand is Burton+Burton.
@PinCutSew Thanks! I found them online. 🙂

That makes sense!
Just ask anyone who collects vintage sewing machines - they ALL seem to come with rufflers! I have one for my 1918 Singer 66 treadle.
So cute❤❤❤❤
Any suggestions for making tutus for my 6- and 3-year-old granddaughters? I saw the one that ties but didnt think it would hold up well.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
But did you find the missing tutu?😊
No! Haha
Fray Block is way better than Fray Check. I made the switch and never looked back!
I’ve never seen that, I’ll try it out!
Omgosh SUPER CUTE
