Again, thank you for taking us along on the flight! And this was not dull or boring! And yeah, that Leap 1A is not only a marvel of engineering, but it could just as easily be modern art.

Thank you kindly!
Thanks Stig, love your show, lots of other Aussies i know enjoy, thanks again
Much appreciated Paul. Cheers to all my Aussie friends out there
You can’t stop “switching to guns”!! 😂 every time I walk onto a 737, I really want to ask the pilots to do that, but I’m not sure they would like that. 😂
It’s just too much fun, 🤣
Stig I love your channel keep it going. I applied to a college for airplane maintenance because of you
That’s amazing news. We need more techs out here. Industry is desperately needing more
Good work Stig!!! A&P pro doing his job well......Thank You!!!....Stay well AECU
Many thanks Allan. Cheers
Stig time!!! Also thank you for answering someone my homework regarding parts (not seats but still worked)
I am glad it helped Nick
Hi Stig 😄the old car you found is the LOTUS 18 CHAMPIONSHIP 14 JIM CLARK GRAND PRIX PORTUGAL 1960. A real légend or... a replica !
Absolutely amazing, thank you so much for that information
Currently 4am here in Ireland, been waiting patiently for this video since I finished work at at 12, looking forward to good watch as usual stig
Hope you enjoy!
I really like your videos Stig. Hi from Chicago south suburbs. You have a wonderful presentation every time. Axel RC
Many thanks Axel 🤙
Learned so much in this shift! From not overfilling hydraulic system yellow if the cargo doors are open, to the "white fidget wheel" on the captain's seat! Also really enjoyed the story of 193. Excellent shift Stig 😎🤙!!
My pleasure. Thank you for being here and enjoying it all
@@StigAviation oh no I made a typo that 2nd last word was not what I wanted to type my apologies! Will edit it.
Found your channel and can’t get enough! My son (5) and I have been watching your videos every night before bed the last two weeks! Thank you for all you are doing!

Thank you so much for watching
enjoying your channel!! just started working on the 320 family. 😊
@@claycai cheers 🤙. I think you are gonna enjoy the 320 aircraft. Very maint friendly
The "guns" remind me of when I was young and my dad would leave me in his truck and leave it running and say "stay put and do not touch anything," and then I'd move the gear stick and listen to the music of the gears grinding🤣😅
Always a great adventure. Thursdays are the best days.
Oh, I bet when he caught you grinding the gears that wasn’t a good day 🤣
@@StigAviation 🤣I'd get grounded
7:25 that is beautiful! Boarding music is relaxing…so is your background music. Enjoyed another Stig shift #41. Until next time and we are looking forward to it. Your choice of words are on point! As I wrote this you were talking to the engine CFM leap one A lol. My heart melts on all your videos talking plane tech!!
Thank you so much Charles.
I've been watching the older videos. Because I found this channel just browsing. Thank you from Greenville, Ohio. G'day.
@@robertholland5771 many thanks for being here and enjoying the adventures Robert.
Fluffy seats hehe. The parts lookup process, is very much the same for auto and small engine mechanics. Those super tugs are cool Stig, they love to hug the tires hehe. I love party lights and the smooth music. The plane refurbishment must have cost a fortune, I thank you for getting cool shots of the interior with seats removed, much more space now lol. I'm not even an airplane mechanic, and that CFM-Leap 1 engine melts my heart too. I just want to caress the curvature of the blades. That was cool seeing new tires ready in that yellow rig! Thank you for another lovely video, love you Stig!
Thank you so much for always being here and for the kind words. I appreciate you.
Hey Stig! Thanks for another adventure. It's always good to hear someone who loves what they do. I flew your airline last week. My flight from JFK to LAX had an APU INOP on our 321. Very hot in the cabin until engine start. Thought about that time you showed up how to startup without the APU. Looking forward to the next adventure!
I apologize for this slight inconvenience with the APU being inoperative. But I’m glad you had a safe flight.
(44:14) Love the condensate boiling off the wings' LP side when planes take off. Pressure's really reduced.
Indeed, it is a beautiful site
We enjoy your Stig shifts, long or short, keep up the good work that you do.
Thank you sir
I find your videos very interesting brother. I repair the actuator for those A320 pilot seats at our repair station, and many more units that I see in your videos!!
Thank you for all your hard work, those actuators are actually very dependable, very rarely they fail.
The Mercedes you saw was a W196R Streamliner , there were only 15 built with 2 different variants , the streamliner wich you saw and a version of the car without so many body panels , it was based on the 300 SL and won Formula 1 championships in both 1954 and 1955 with Sir Stirling Moss and Juan Manuel Fangio behind the wheel, 2 of the all time greats in Formula 1.
Thank you so much for this wonderful information.
Another fantastic video Sir Stig, thanks for letting us see what's involved in this side of aviation, 👍
Glad you enjoyed it
Oh hell yes, good morning Stig! I've got my coffee. Let's go.

Wow, thank you!
Goood Morning my virtual friend Stig!! Come on .. Let's go .. wakeup our airplanes ...there comes my next office ... The Legend himself ... Stig!! I wonder if the bus company insurance paid for the repairs of 193 ... it must have "cost an arm and a leg!" Thanks for the information and weekly entertainment! American Airlines can copy Air Canada's Employee Recognition display ... I'll definitely nominate you Stig!!
I’m not sure how or who paid for it , but I’m sure insurance was involved. And thank you for that kind words
I am sure the view is better in person, but man it just seems so intimidating watching those 777's pull into the gate!
They are gigantic. Just standing next to the engines will make you feel like an ant.
Backkk again lovely. Stigggg. The. Night is complete is

Excellent shot of the wing vortex in action with the last shot of the take off!👍
Glad you enjoyed it
I like the Air Canada employee thank you.
@@JimWhitaker glad you enjoyed it
193 is a testament to engineering. Wow!
It absolutely is.
Would be great to see a video about your work vehicle and also the other vehicles around the airport. Also would be cool to see in the hanger planes and what they are being serviced for. I know you are only there during the day but is there any planes in the hanger during the day? Great work and keep doing these videos even if you feel it is repetitive as youtube rewards consistency.
The work vehicles we use are simply either electric carts or just vans or pick up trucks. There’s nothing special about them. In regards to the Hanger I would have to ask permission to film there.
AMT student here.
I am glad to hear that IPC's are digital and tail number searchable. I was ordering new parts for a Piper Cherokee for practice. After ordering some new hoses for the induction system, I realized that I was ordering from the wrong table for that serial number of Piper. So I found the correct table for my exact serial number... And the hose was the exact same part number that I had just erased. 🤦🤬
Digital age is a godsend for us. Makes our lives so much easier.
The AMM and the IPC are organized by ATA code where I work.
Got my A&P license! I commented on an earlier video of yours on just finishing the AMT program, and now 2 weeks later, I am officially A&P licensed! Thanks for the advice! It helped a lot when the DME rephrased the questions so I could understand them better. Anyways, did I hear you say goodbye in Samoan (Fa)? 36:12 Always great watching your videos! Very informative and educational! 🤙🏽
Congratulations my friend, this is incredible news. You have accomplished something very major. You should be very proud. Now it’s time to take your next step in your journey. Time to find a job. 🤙
My grandma retired from US Air and worked at the maintenance department at Pittsburgh. Thanks for bringing back the good memories!

Long story short: Großartig! Vielen Dank, Stig!!!

That poor Airbus, ouch. Looks expensive repair job. Off to Wellington (WLG) on Monday for three days to go to Dr Who Worlds of Wonder exhibition and will be flying there and back from Queenstown (ZQN) on Air New Zealand A320.
Wishing you an amazing flight and have fun at the exhibition.
Newly subscribed . I really enjoy this and your work.

Stig… what are the brochures behind the right seat of the first plane @1:45. Also do the super tug drivers work for the airline or airport. I want to be a super tug driver.. have a great week. When you coming to Seattle. Also Boeing is on strike so no new jets until it’s over.
Those are safety cards, it’s the same safety cards you will find in your seat back pocket. The tug drivers are employees of the airline. That’s part of fleet service, or ramp agent.
Always Nice to see the RR engines gives a sense of a pride as someone who is british 🇬🇧 seen as though we dont really have an aircraft manufacturing industry anymore
Those beautiful Rolls-Royce engines are incredible
The highlight of my week!
Cheers 🤙
Stig; you hit those guns all you want - I never tire of it. As always, your content was excellent and entertaining. Be safe out there. See you in the next office
@@joanieswanson570 thank you Joanie.
When I worked @Ford/Mazda sometimes the power window switches would become intermittent. Instead of replacing I used to open the switch & clean the contacts. Only took 10 minutes & he saved the cost & time on returning.
Typically parts were determined by car serial number or on the component itself. Sometimes production date was necessary.
It’s very important to make sure those part numbers are correct
Thanks Stig-Great way to wrap up my week. Your parting video of the 777 take off was awesome.
Thank you so much, I’m happy you enjoyed it

Man, the vapor coming off the wings and the swirl of the clouds caused by the departing 777 at the end was a work of art. Aviation is so awesome.
I always love seeing the wind tip vortices
It never ceases to amaze me how damaged planes can get and still return to service!

Great video as always, you are so enthusiastic about aircraft and very easy to understand your explanations, can a plane take off and land on just one engine.
Thank you very much, I’m glad you’re enjoying it. And yes, an aircraft can takeoff and land on one engine.

$100k cars on pallets completely exposed to the open and with windows down, but have 200 straps holding it down!
My friend, I don’t make the decisions on how they transport vehicles.
10:09 Hey Stig does things ever get stuck between the trim wheels and the Center pedestal and did you ever have to open it up to fish it out?
Very rarely that happens. And yes I have done that.
Wonderful video, as always, Stig! Really enjoyed story time about Airbus 193 and all the details about her rebuild. Every time a 777 pushes back, I look for Juan Brown. 😂 And what a closing shot of the 777 taking off! Had to watch it more than once.

I have yet to see Mr. Juan Brown, I’m sure our paths will cross one of these days. And thank you so much for being here and watching.
Anytime i fell in Love with the views.
One Question: How are Flightnumbers createt? Sometimes its AAL234... somoetimes AAL57AR or sort like this.
Cheers.
From what I remember reading, it’s all done by computer algorithms nowadays. But I do remember reading something about eastbound and northbound flights and how they number them same thing for westbound and southbound flights. Something about organizing them with odd numbers and even numbers.
Hey Stig, I thought of a question: you know how there's a "MEL" for aircraft, well is there an "MEL" (Minimum EMPLOYEE List) for airports? In other words, does every airport a commercial carrier flies to have to have a Stig (or someone less charismatic but equally qualified) there to sign off on the aircraft? Or can they fly to "spoke" airports without a mechanic as long as they come back to a "hub" (or other airport) that has a mechanic? Not a nervous-flyer , just wondering how it works. Do they share mechanics between carriers (at smaller airports) ?
Most major stations have technicians, much like myself, there are some stations that do not have maintenance that work for the company, they do have the option of contracting on field maintenance from vendors. But if it’s a serious issue, they can fly technicians from the main base to fix the problem.
doing a great jon stig love the videos how many 777-200's does amercian have and how old are they??
Can’t remember the exact number nor the age of all of them. But the oldest one is from 1995 I believe
You’re not the only one that likes the boarding & deboarding music :).
@@danielchriste1588 thank goodness. I’m not alone 😅
Thanks for another great video Stig!

Quite a big job with the Bus that got hit by a bus. Stig, do you think the Delta plane that had its tail sheared off by another Delta plane will ever leave the ground again?
@@douglasslotolowicz9454 i believe they will get that delta aircraft back in service. It will take a while and lots of money but it will fly again is delta decides to fix it. I’ve seen worse damage than that.
Stig I have a question on that Airbus that went to Pittsburgh I thought American Airlines had a huge maintenance facility in Tulsa Oklahoma because many many years ago when I was working at McDonnell Douglas on the MD-80s I was offered a job there, but I decided to stay in California as sometimes I wonder if that was the right decision or not but I just remember they had a big facility in Tulsa Oklahoma
You are correct, they have the biggest MRO facility in the world in Tulsa, Oklahoma. It’s still there and they are doing massive amount of work there. The reason that that particular aircraft ended up staying in Pittsburgh is because when it got there and they found the corrosion, it became in an un-airworthy aircraft. That’s why they did the repairs there.
"Uhhh hey boss I hit a plane"
"YOU DID WHAAAAAT"

Yeah CRT screens love to flash on cameras its how they are designed. What can I say I love electronics/technology.

Here's that weird Aussie bloke from Sydney with his own fleet of squawking cockatoo "aircraft"... lol. Ten minutes in, and a question on the seat replacement. If a seat is "downgraded" to an older model for the aircraft to fly, does it get "upgraded" again in future maintenance? Cheers
It doesn’t need to get upgraded, they will just wait until that seat is no longer functioning correctly then it would be replaced with whatever is available
Jets burn alot of gas, they are beautiful creations. Any CEO in this sector who see's any type of movement sleeps good at night. This is the best stig yet, ending with a flying gas tank full of fabricated consumers, with ironically 'freedom fuel' vaping off the wings. Nature has a awesome sense of humor.
Nature definitely has a interesting sense of humor
Hi Stig, question. Do you have any idea who the manufacturer of the chair's top sheepskin is? Thanks and you make very informative videos!!!
I can’t remember the manufacturer of it. I’ll have to look that up by the vendor code.
I start my driving lessons in a few weeks. Next step will be getting my PPL
Awesome 🛫
How often does aircrafts go thru checks air frame or wings integrity? How do you check it? Thanks
That occurs on heavy checks, I have a dedicated video talking about the difference between Hanger and Line and I explain in that video the type of checks that are performed, which are very extensive. Check that video out when you have time.
oh sweet stig posted
