A childhood favourite memory of mine , As an 8 yr old my Parents took me to Thors cave for the first time some 47 years ago , back then you had to make your own way up via a long steep slippery mud bank pulling our selves up using tree roots and greenery . How my Mum made it up ill never know , as it was hard work for me as a fit agile youngster ! The steps make it far easier and safer nowadays . I must have been here over a dozen times since and still enjoy it .
So pleased that another vlog has appeared on this channel Shawn as want to give you as much support as I can. Loved walking in the Peak District when I was a kid and would love to get back there one day. Thanks for all the great content this year so far and your new Moto at the end of this channel should be “Keep On Adventuring “ 👍🏻👍🏻⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Great to see you back out on adventure Shawn channel I’ve missed these amazing videos, & what an amazing place, I do miss places like that now l live in Perth Australia Keep them coming 👍
Thanks mate. Your a gent for making this. This cave features as the front artwork for verve’s first album ‘storm in heaven’. It’s got magic embedded in the rocks.
I’m in Manchester so it’s a short drive to mam tor the views are bloody amazing and when you drive through the road with the cliffs on each side beside the road on the left when you are driving towards castleton village there is a cave actually not tampered with by the national trust! You should explore it!
In a few months after a long time as a big effort, I will be going to White Scar Cave in Ingleton as the village is in The Yorkshire Dales as that will be a good place as an adventure for you, Shawn. And talking of climbing, I went to Great Horton Country Park in Bradford as it wasn’t a heavy climb up the hill, yesterday. Like I take a torch for Stoodley Pike and Stoodley Pike has graffiti as well. Or we will end up like Mufasa if we go near the edge. 🦁💀 Especially me at 18:48. Anyway, make sure you stay safe also get out there and have more adventures. 😊
I visited here during lockdown and loved it. Brought it all back watching this :) Ive just started my own hiking videos so I love watching where others visit to get inspiration. Ive subscribed:)
Thor's Cave reminds me of Mammoth Cave National Park in Kentucky. I hope you make it out there someday because Mammoth Cave has a lot of foreign visitors and lots of cave tours to pick from.
Love this channel as much as your other Shawn. Really appreciate seeing the locations that have great view points like this, keep them coming! Also we need a playlist of the music you use for your videos on both channels!
Looks awesome and somewhere that can inspire people to explore local areas!! I’ve subbed to both channels and enjoy all your content!! Filming for my own channel this weekend whilst I’m away aswell! Loving the hair by the way!! Suits you
Great video Shawn , how about taking your e bike around the cycle loops of your local Peak District reservoirs, ladybower, derwent and Holden? That would a good adventure Shawn watch
Hey there Shawn you look really cool today as always and please can you do another video with Charlotte again on Adventure Shawn please and have a brilliant day today I love you Shawn and Charlotte xx
Real good video you makes, like the NC 500 . Do you plans to make trip on south coast of England ? see som of the small coastal towns. BR Henrik the viking from Denmark :-)
Where have you been hiding this place? It's beautiful. Reminds me of Oregon, and some of my favorite hikes, just about a half hour from my house. Hair looks good on this channel too!
Great vlog Shawn. Love Thor's. You can spend ages looking at the fossilised sea creatures in the banked rock floor. Like you know be careful when it is wet . It becomes like a ski slope near the entrance. A tad challenging at times. Have you thought about a Dovedale vlog? Would be good. The stones, caves etc.Ohh just remembered., there was a film made in Wetton .With Thor's Cave .Called .The Lair Of The White Worm. Amanda Donohoe and Hugh Grant were in it. Check it out. It's a bit weird lol.The Trailer is on UA-cam itself.
My gods ... got no idea why this flagged up .... but I used to ride around this area on my Triumph t140v.... used to camp at Wetton which is near by ..haven’t been in years and strangely was thinking about going back ... Surely this is a sign to get off my backside and back to the peaks...
Hello Shawn how are you today If you like exploring new places you should check out museums, nature reserves, zoos, national parks, botanical gardens ect. Here are some suggestions London attractions to check out Sherlock Holmes Museum, Dr Soanes House, Jewel Tower, The Queens Gallery, The Royal Mews, Postmans Park, Headstone Manor, Syon House, Bentley Priory Nature Reserve, RAF Bentley Priory, St Paul's Cathedral, Turnham Green Church, St Mary's Church Kenton in Leicester you have the National Space Centre, In Brighton Royal Pavilion ect
Great video Shawn, I haven’t visited Thor’s cave before. Is there ever a time that you would have the cave to yourself, or is it busy pretty much all the time?
funfact about thor's cave is that it was a bronze age burial site and roman/anglo-saxon lookout point. 4 adults and 2 children were found in this cave who date to post-neolithic period. bones of dolphin ox bear brown bear wolf dog goat pig cat polecat field mouse hare reindeer birds and small ox have been found in this cave along with beaker pottery arrow heads flint amber beads medieval ring cloth fibres and tools and ornaments of bronze stone bone and iron if anyone knows where i can source a map of the tunnels in this cave could you please let me know its for a study im doing in achaeology
Shaun check out Bear and Wolf Shed on Instagram. They recently did a massive clean up of Thor's Cave with loads of volunteers because people had trashed it.
Surly enjoy you and your videos; the only complaint is the mindnumbing, annoying music you add when you're not speaking. Perhaps you need to take a survey of your followers and see who really likes this? As it is, my wife and I have to keep pushing the volume button to mute, when this happens. Otherwise, great job on everything else!
I also had to turn down completely the Sound. But I had to turn it up again to hear what was being said. It was Really terrible the 'music!' But other Wise, I enjoyed seeing what the peak District is like. I to noticed how much Slimmer you look!

Such epic views!
The Peak District is one of the best walking places in the uk and world in my opinion
Definitely
Where do you park to visit Thor’s Cave, which isn’t a huge walk?
There’s a small parking area nearby
