Hi Kal-El! I've always loved watching your critiques regarding buses. It was one of the first buses that I rode on when I began High School in Taft (the other being the Daimler Chrysler Orion VII Compressed Natural Gas buses Parts 1 and 2). At the time, the 32 came out of 146 (MCH) before it came out of 10th Avenue (KB) and then the Coliseum (WF). I also rode on 3782 that came from Jamaica Buses and 3737 from Triboro Coach that ran on an Express Subway Shuttle to East 180. They have been a better fleet for the New York City Transit Authority and the Manhattan and Bronx Surface Transit Operating Authority. Just continue to put videos out there.
That was a lie and they used to be at Spring Creek Depot but not anymore right now they’re saying to not other than JFK Depot, Baisley Park Depot, and AWW, Laguardia Depot!
@@kalelc1996 It was the hybrid Orion seven that was in Spring Creek Depot not the diesel. Fresh Pond Depot in East New York depot remove them during the pandemic.
There are only a few of them left and are mostly at far rockaway… im gonna miss these OGs alot even tho i no longer live in NYC… this ends the 2000 buses era for the buses i guess till the ngs leave
Why did MTA Bus Company last longer with these, than New York City Transit? The 2023-24 LFS fleet is coming into Far Rockaway/JFK fast, and is already full at Baisley Park. What will happen to 3594 and 3736 very soon? Why was the replacement multiple Next Gens?
Wow, where's my vids ? Anyways, these are what I call the "Grand Orion VII OGs". Though they are not as potential as the older Gen 2s, the 2004-05 units(except a little less of emissions I appreciate), I still love those and even they are mostly the king of MTA BC. #3563(diesel converted) has officially crashed into Spring Creek, besides it's time of being a loan to that. depot. Speaking of the "last to feature slant windows", these along with the olders, are not as best as the NG HEVs(your worst favs) by design. I recently pulled out #6800 and sent it to Canarsie Rockaway-Parkway terminal. That unit sounds vitrolicly good. I have yet to catch #3563 on the B103. So far, great review.

These buses had a huge impact on my childhood,my dad works for Casey Stengel depot and as you all know Casey Stengel formerly had these old gens.Ive rode these buses so long that I have to say they are part of my childhood.but when Casey Stengel gave there buses to queens village depot I was like:aaaaaaaaaa wtf Casey Stengel?i mean their maintainece is shit and also why would you give them away?those are the best!yup broke my heart anyways nice review!
Best NYC bus along with the og cngs and 2002-2005 og hybrids period. Their design is amazing, their sounds are amazing, its just perfect. The cng has that iconic roar, the engine sounds way better inside the bus too, allison has the best roar while the Ecomat the best sounds inside the bus for both the transmission and engine. The og hybrids, are the definition of diesel-electric buses, because you can hear both diesel and hybrid sound on them. (1st gen hybrid has a more active diesel sound, the 2g and 2g+ is a mix of both) the hybrids sound awesome, especially inside the bus. Im not a fan of the straight diesel tho because one: i never grew up seeing or riding them and two they sound typical and don’t sound as good as the hybrids and three, they look bizarre with that weird top
Yes, they were. The OG O7s were the last new buses to come with blackbacks, starting with the O7 NGs, everything went whiteback until the cuomo era a few years ago.
As I usually ride these low-floored Orion buses during the previous decade, the only thing I hated and couldn't stand most times was the loud kneeling sound as they kneel - they were, to me, in my owns thoughts, irritatingly and annoyingly lousy, awful, and unpleasant! The same thing goes for the Westchester Beeline Bus Company. But, Thanks be to God, both New York City Transit and MTA took care of those kneeling sounds, which has been sounding better for being quiet and less irritating to me, during the later years!
Mta bus company takes better care in those old gens because some I see on eny or fresh pond they usually have tape but mta bus company does not have tape
The 2007 and 6th and Ryan better catch up there about to start scrapping them they be replaced with the new stuff is coming in as of buses that different but use I also talked to take it over
