Thank you for the video brother! Although my rods range $80-$110 which works for me. It's the line info will help alot. My top water Suffix 832 30lb is dialed in but I need that Seagar 100% Fluorocarbon for everything else. As for cheapo combos , my $50 5' Ugly Stick micro caught a ton of perch lol
I really need to go fishing on my kayak. When at work for 5 or more days a week it's hard to leave the house once again. My wife says "If you don't make the time you'll never go".
What is your budget for the rod and reel. The SLX line of rods are great from Shimano at around $100. The 7’3 mh swim bait rod is great. I like to through my a rigs on a swim bait rod.
About time I get to watch this one 😂 I seen it was in member only. Thanks for letting us poor men watch this De 😅. But all jokes aside, Good job on the video, I enjoy it 💯👊.
When I was young, I was happy when my rod didn’t have black tape holding on my guides. You young whipper snappers. Now get off my lawn. Just kidding. Another nice post.
My heavy x- fast does all my heavy stuff. Frogs, jigs etc. . Never needed 50- 60 # braid. 30-40 won't break. I use 2 spinning rods. A 6'8" and a7' medium. I find it covers so much. Even spinner baits and yes lighter bladed jigs and some cranks also. But an overall basic quick course. I like to save my rod tubes but see no reason to hang them where the combos go. ( unless you have the hooks too far apart) . I stand my rods up, which you probably do also. Let me know.
Hey man! Been binging your stuff for the past few days. I want to get into kayak fishing eventually but for now I'm just taking advantage of my dads boat. i see a lot of people recommending newcommers to go with spinning rods. Is there a reson you only have one in your setup? Is casting preferable for kayaks? My dad and I mostly use wacky style senkos and dropshots, so I was thinking of getting the St-croix LTB spinning rod in medium heavy, but are baitbasters far supperior to spinners? Thanks!
I only have one because it's what I finesse fish with. Sometimes I carry two but I primarily carry casting rods because the lures I am using (jigs, spinnerbaits, chatterbaits, yamamoto, swim jigs, heavy swimbaits, all require a casting rod setup and more power and action than a finesse spinning rod will allow. Hope that helps
@@wendellfishing Yes that helps, thanks a lot for the reply! I've seen a lot of people on forums recommend medium heavy/fast action spinning rods for wacky style senko fishing, so I think I'll start with that. But I think my second rod will be a baitcaster just to I have a different setup. Do you think that's wise?
Great Video my Friend and I do carry one spinning setup and 2 Casters one with P Line and the other braid. The Seagar is way outta my Wheelhouse and I’m just an Old Broken DAV Bank Banger and fish the River here in Virginia but it’s been Life changing getting back out fishing after 2 Decades off. I was new to Bass until these past couple years after I happened upon DebosFishing and literally changed my Life lol. Semper Fidelis 3/6
Darren awesome tips, on the rods, and definitely line test and type. Fun fishing days, i always bring only four rods. My Tournament days, I'll always bring six minimum.. 💯 🛶 🎣
For your Extra Heavy, when you switch out between flouro and braid, do you have separate reels, or do you keep spare spools that are pre-filled with the different line types and swap them out depending on which technique you're planning on fishing with that rod on a given day? I'm having this conundrum with my topwater/jerkbait rod. I like braid or mono for topwaters but flouro for jerkbaits.
@wendellfishing Thanks! I'm trying not to have a hundred rods so I'm leaning more towards different reels. Not that swapping spools is difficult, but it's definitely faster to just slap a different reel on. Thanks for all the awesome video content. Love the podcast too. Keep it up!

Ooh.. great question but I really don't have an answer for you on that one. Hopefully someone else chimes in

I use the Abu Garcia Vendetta 7'3" medium heavy they're 30-ton rod blank... Bait caster reel of your choice 😀.

Ha! I give sneak peaks to my channel members... so they videos a week before they go live to the public. I didn't know those were visible!

Ha! My favorite comment so far :)
nice impulse commercial
I wasn't required to do this video. They are just the rods I like and use.
If I could only own five rods I would feel cheated and/or persecuted. 😂 I enjoy content like this, Daren. Well done.
Ha! Love it. Glad you like it boss

My kids get a hold of all of my rod tube and build forts out of them ::)
Nice. Thanks for the video and for sharing your passion so passionately! Wondered why don't you use braid with a Fluorocarbon leader?
I guess I just like straight braid. Less human error

@@wendellfishing absolutely I will be there.
Are you gonna be at the canoe kayak show at the alient energy center this weekend?
That would be quite the drive for me.

I have different rods and reels for set ups where I need braid. But you could definitely just purchase different reels for sure.

I am looking at 21 rods😂😂 Can be 24-25 rods at the end of summer or before the end of year 2024. 😋🎣👍
NO i need every rod&reel i've got 🤘😎🤘
Collect them all!
I’m right with you. Definitely have more than I need times 5. It’s addicting but a heck of a lot of fun!
Solid choices for strength and action . One of the perks of being older and financially stable is not being limited to 5 rods lol
Big facts brother
