One of the very bests. Back then it was such a cool mix of like Primus, Mr. Bungle, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Rage Against the Machine, Tool, deftones and korn.
Incubus were definitely going into that rage against machine style in the early music but use groovy progression with hiphop like funk metal and alternative rock and created there own sound different from any genre
Mike Einziger is a true guitar legend. He holds a special place with Matt Bellamy, Tom Morello, Johnny Greenwood and Thurston Moore as someone who didn't just play the guitar but manipulated it into a totally different form than we are used to.
As a "new" fan of Incubus, I discover every day more how they rocked in the past, listening to old songs. And, since I love every single album they did, including the new ones, I say to my self: "Wow, when I listened to Make Yourself, Morning View and If Not now When, I thought they were damn great. But now that I know old songs, and how they were before, I think they REALLY could be one of the greatest band of the last years."
@@yourlocalpizzadeliveryguy3739 eheheh! 10 years after I can safely say that I still love Incubus but recognize that they are just a good band and that's it. Currently and for the rest of my life my favorite Incubus album is S.C.I.E.N.C.E and I believe their new stuff is pretty mediocre 🤫 rock'n'roll my friends!
Looooove this song. I love how Brandon's smiles are so precious and innocent compared to the rest of the video - jesus christ, this band is good at everything.
Got to see them when they were touring "8", and was so disappointed that they didn't play anything from this album, which is my favorite of theirs. Still love them, but really wanted to hear this, Adolescents or Thieves.
You know the old dude on the first two album covers? That’s the singers real life dad lol. He was a model for some cowboy clothing brand or something in the 70s and his son thought the pics looked funny so used them on his albums thinking no one would ever see them and a nod to his papa. Pretty cool.
Brandon with dreads... SO SEXY. I miss when they were this funky :( I'll always love all of their music by their earlier stuff just takes me to a different place. What if I was just dreaming?
Probably one of the greatest bands of all time. if you dont believe me, listen to every album/every song, and change your mind. If you still dont believe, when you die, an angel will slap you on your head, and say "REALLY?"
His voice sounds like a mix of Les Claypool, Mike Patton, Jon Davis, and Anthony Kiedis all in one. LOL he really came into his own quite a bit. Still recognizable enough to me. I feel like Incubus really did naturally evolve into making the music they've made since.
I don't give a fuck what anyone says about their new stuff. I love all their music from this album to the goddamn EP. I can't wait to see them in Tampa this coming Thursday!!!!
I love the fact that they are always evolving. Every time they come out with a new cd, we see a new and improved incubus. They are the best band there ever was, or ever will be.
as a 14 year old, this shit is a masterpiece, its a bummer they dont really play enjoy incubus, fungus amongus, or science songs anymore. they fckn rock bro, i loveloveloveloveee incubus but i love this way more than their new shit.
The video has without any doubt the touch of madness. Hilarious. I've never seen something quite as funny. Really not ordinary. Clearly, they're full of imagination and have a crazy creativity. They was 20 years. My god! Staggering how extremely talented they already was. Very impressive, at such a young age. They rise the roof with their music.Prodigious gift for. Modern experimental music, represented by a blaze of red and sharp forms in my head.Highly explosive track reflecting their personality. This music is like a structured improvisation composition and performance materials and techniques are delineated. Look, you go up to your room right now or go to living and turn that rock music up as loud as you can get it. Sing, dance like a dumb alone or with a pal. That tune blows your mind for sure.
Oh Vanessa, if only I'd scour the internet for that article. Brandon said that they have evolved from that time and that at the time, they werent being themselves they were just being what they liked at the time. in other words, they were copying off their idols at the time. not being themselves. he also said that he's not sure if they'd know/remember how to play anything off Fungus Amongus, especially Live.
Incubus in Fungus Amungus (Funk Metal), S.C.I.E.N.C.E (Nu Metal/Funk Metal) and Make Yourself (Alternative Metal/Alternative Rock) is f*cking awesome.
I agree.
It's special stuff really those 3.
DID you say Science my Dear mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
tell me what you are showing here ???????
their early stuff yes, their best stuff \m/
Psychedelic, funk, post grunge, this just hits all the right spots. One of my favorite Incubus songs
Psychedelic nu metal
nu metal*
@@insid0us I get less nu vibes from most early incubus
The best part of Incubus having diverse styles in every album is their songs will always sound fresh once they play it live
Morning View was their last great album
Thank you! 100% agree!
Nah, this is incubus high on whatever they are back then
@@dr.loomis4221Classic Incubus albums: Make Yourself, Morning View and Light Grenades
This album and SCIENCE needs more recognition. Iv listened to this for like 20 years maybe more. Now my kids love it 😊
It sound like a mix between Faith No More and Alice in Chains ( in the chorus), i love it
Yup
Yeah the faith no more is heavy on this
Chrous makes me think of korn
Pretty accurate
@@gaberey1918 that and Primus/Mr.Bungle
I feel like System of a Down could cover this song and people would think it was an original track from them, that's how out there this is lol
Yeah lol
Sounds like if King Crimson, Mr. Bungle, RHCP, Primus and Korn formed into one song!
Maybe the real title is Take me to your DeaLer
Tinha que ser BR, kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk
fungus/enjoy incubus songs were practically lsd/marijuana songs.
giangiang ...and shrooms. Lol
Lmao!!!
I have the same poster

I miss this era of them so much. ❤
Honestly, Incubus is and always will be my favorite band of all time. Each album they put out is absolutely flawless.
I totally agree with you.
This! They're one of those rare bands where I like EVERY album and EP.
I couldnt really get into anything after morning view

That's actually a djembe not a bongo:/
I still listen to this. I miss this style from Incubus...😔
One of the very bests. Back then it was such a cool mix of like Primus, Mr. Bungle, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Rage Against the Machine, Tool, deftones and korn.
I just want this era to cycle back around :(
Them: Why do you like Incubus so much?
Me: (shows them this)
earliest NuMetal
'The gods must be crazy' reference, nice
Incubus were definitely going into that rage against machine style in the early music but use groovy progression with hiphop like funk metal and alternative rock and created there own sound different from any genre
Agreed, even at 2:58 Brandon rapping is a rarity nowadays. Wish they would dive back into their roots
This is my favourite Incubus song ever

Reminds me of Pain Of Salvation, both the music and the dreads ;)
1:24 that jump is fucking awesome!
Brandon looks like a legitimate jungle man
This song is more addictive than drugs
That was really strange and awesome. At 1:12, they are sounding very Alice In Chains.
Nostalgia at its finest👌 Why cant music be like this today.
I forgot to remember
Great track for the 90s and the video - even its roughness - is pretty avant garde
Fungus Amungus is my favorite album, reminds me of Mr. Bungle as well.
Masterpiece ❗
The two first albums are still my favourite.

I think that it's such a PRIVILEGE to go to their high school,
This is fire, Bro!! What a underrated masterpiece
❤ way older then UA-cam's.
This has that Faith No More feel but funkier and denser(?).

I didn’t realize he took the name ‘Brandon of the Jungle’ literally. Amazing
Their mainstream shit is still millions of times better than the OTHER mainstream shit.

The won't. They said they don't want to. Which is why they never perform it live
