As an experience biker , watching things like this make me realise I am actually useless on a bike as I would be dead within 30 seconds if I attempted even half of those speeds around those streets .
I’ve been riding and racing for 20yrs and they make me and everyone look slow!
I ride a motorbike every day. These blokes are a different breed.
Just witnessed my 35 mins bus ride to school from Kirk Michael to Ramsey (1975) in a matter of a few minutes. Very glad my double-decker school bus didn't take Ballaugh bridge at that speed!
i've played the TT game and half of it's memory cause if you don't remember whats coming up you're fucked. only imagine the concentration needed to do it in real life
Riders do race each other in the TT. They start in 10 second intervals so catching up to other riders happens all the time. Get a corner wrong, the guy behind can be right on you. There is an epic back and forth between Dunlop and Martin that highlights this.
I’ve crashed every moped, road bike and quad I’ve ever been on😂😂. The skill, focus, mental capacity and just sheer bloody death defying speeds!!!! These guys aren’t human……. 👌👍
Speeds over 220mph on the straights and there is one of the small towns where they swerve through it at 207mph
It's not a speedometer it's a rev counter .
Hi Joel, the Manx is run to the same format as the TT, they are sent off at ten second intervals. So were you see three riders together, one of them has made up ten and twenty seconds on the other two. At the TT you can see up to four riders close together sometimes. If you type in "Peter Hickman, fastest lap" you can have a POV of the fastest lap ever around the course.
He already watched the Hicky lap record
@@craigchristian344 No, he's watched the slower demonstration lap he did in 2017.
With these types of videos, I watch with "if that was me" in the back of my mind.
WELL.
Firstly, there's no way I would ride a motorbike at those speeds on a straight track, let alone the narrow, wall-lined roads of the Isle of Man.
Secondly, if the front wheel DID slide like that, I would put on the brakes, park up, ditch the bike and walk back to my B&B, to change my underwear and go the f*ck home for a cup of tea and cuddle from my family!
Always enjoy the iom 1973 was the first time I went never a dull moment and people ask me why I like road racing I think it speaks for itself 🏍️
I’m from the Isle of Man it’s an amazing experience I can’t wait for TT!
You're on board a kawasaki zx6r. The bikes are all very different in their strengths and weaknesses. Exactly the same as the riders and then there is the small matter of setting the bike up perfectly for the conditions. They compete for the racing line. Skill levels are off the charts.
The TT is a time trial theybrace the clock not each which is why its so fast as you have to be on it at fast as you can all the time.
Joel, mate. You were riding along with him, so good to watch. When the front wheel slid, I could see in your face that you had "Pukka Butt". Your cheeks tightened up giving you a Pukka Butt. LOL!!! Cheers Mate, keep up the great work.
I don't know how they walk with that sized balls !! ...amazing skill and insanity lol
I'm lucky enough to have grown up on the Isle of Man, now live in Yorkshire but I go back to the Isle all the time as my folks are still there.
Went to the centenary Manx GP last year it was amazing,we sat on the banking at glen Lough campsite about 10 seconds into the video just before Crosby, have a look at the north west 200 it was on last weekend it's crazy fast & the riders set off in groups.
tt starts soon, cheers, the real rocket men
I am bloody speechless !!! 😳
A friend is going this coming week.
the first segment of this video where the high power bikes are speeding fast through wooded areas with there engines screaming reminded me of the scene from star wars return of the jedi. the speeder bikes scene as the riders go fast through forest at high speed, close to each other same as the power bides to on the TT track. is that just me or did anyone else think that.
I hope Joel gets to watch a TT Course.
As far as I'm aware the GP is qualifying to be permitted to enter the TT. In order to enter the GP u must prove a level of skill and experience. Not sure the actual regulations that have to be met but I'm thinking previous experience in other races etc. if anyone knows the actual rules please comment
A rental? HAHAHAHA!!!
They got BALLS
Great content Joel.
Think I would rather ride James May's Meccano motorbike around the circuit at a few miles per hour.😅
That takes some skills to ride like that.
Hello Joel. I keep asking you to watch the George Formby film from the early days of TT.
Try watching this video on 2x speed.
One Racer hit a pheasant which flew across the road in front of him, which at 180 mph would have been like hitting a brick, needless to say it did not end well for either the pheasant or the rider 😢
You know what to do, you need to plan ahead and get yourself to Isle of Man and experience the TT for yourself, something I definitely want to see myself
I live on the Isle of Wight. If I did this here I would be scared shitless that a fox or a badger would suddenly appear and that would be that. I'm guessing these guys don't need to worry about that at least..
I’m not a biker, my brain wouldn’t be able to keep up with it, incredible racing and mind boggling
I'm amazed it's still allowed frankly but the Manx folk have their own set of rules
Should react to DIRT: Switched On Kill (Episode 1), its a good docuseries about dirt oval racing and its on youtube.
i was mad on a bike as a young lad this makes me wonder how i stayed alive. plenty of my friend got killed riding bike. why i gave up.
These boys are scary but the sidecars I can hardly bare to watch.
1:35 Pocket check, if you know, you know 🤣
This is actually not the TT. The Tourist Trophy on the Isle of Man is a race against time and not against other riders. I've just started the video, so I don't know what race it is yet, but it's more than certain that it's not the TT. Regarding your reactions, instead of Peter's "simple" lap, you should see the video of his lap record. Peter holds the record for the fastest race lap ever done at an average speed of more than 135 mph. He posted the onboard video of this ride and trust me... It's very, very different from what you've already seen and absolutely worth watching.
The Manx Grand Prix is the same as the TT except the riders cannot have won a TT and there are no sidecars.. And the races are usually shorter by a lap or two. You do get riders passing in both events but that is because some people have a 'race face' and go quicker in the race then in training.. Running just after is a series of festival race event which includes past riders and machines from TT like events from over the world. Do not worry about the speed you could train for it if you wanted? And you need the ability to concentrate for up to 2 hours solid.
If you ever come to the island look me up.I,ll take you round the course ,but in a car. My biking days are over.
the biggest things i have ever ridden on two wheels is a 125cc scooter. i think if i rode pillion at those speeds on that track i be frightened to death. some people have nerves of steel. are there any women ridding those bikes on that track at that speed because if there are its hats of to them. 60 mph is my limit lol.
The peter Hickman lap was a race 🤣
The chin camera lap he watched wasn’t!
Bloody scary mary. But hats off to them.
You were well in the zone there Joel, very much a "Change Of Underwear" video that one. And to think that this is taking place on normal roads and not a specialist track!
You'll have to have your seat fitted with gimballs so you can more into the coners easier!
My butt would be so clenched that I could make diamonds with it.
Even watching this is so tense. Especially when another biker is blocking the view of the "horizon" or they pass eachother, I'm just hoping they are conscious of their surroundings (as we see in F1, that's not always the case with racers).
Irish rider Andy Farrell
My arse has gone just watching this?!
I suppose you could over time a custom yourself to those high speeds by start riding that lap by going within speed that's in your comfort zone and then with training go faster and faster east time until you feel ok with those type of high speeds. i would imagine it takes lots of training to be able to do that. on that track at those deadly speeds. one mistake and your gone.
All kicks off again very soon Free practice and Qualifying 1,May 27th ,
No sense of fear whatsoever
Terrifying. (Ocean Motor Village is probably a sponsor for the rider)
They don't do rental on the TT that's funny
You have to hope an animal doesn’t shoot out 😮
Ridiculously fast.... Special type of people.
I believe 2016 was the worst for deaths as five riders lost their lives. It’s the most dangerous sport on the planet, I wish they would ban all motorbike races as soon as possible many young lose their lives. It must be an adrenaline rush that keeps them addicted.
How fast are they going, anybody know?
Average speed round the course is 130+ mph
Some mountain sections they hit 170-180 mph
the precise speed where exhilaration becomes terror
@@camperp195 Thank you, that’s a crazy speed, they must have massive balls!
This is the Manx where as someone else here commented..top speed will be around 180ish on the fastest stretches..Peter Hickman in last years TT has been clocked at 200MPH exactly on the BMW 1000..Michael Dunlop at 198MPH on the Honda Fireblade based machine..incidentally..piece of history..Mick Grant way back in 1979 was timed at 191MPH on a 750cc works Kawasaki downhill to Creg ne bar..a 750 triple 2stroke factory bike
@@markianclark9645 Thank you Mark, do these riders know the course off by hand? I just don’t understand how their brains work so fast, maybe this is why I’m a gardener and they aren’t 😂😂
Scary. I can't watch.
One mistake those speeds will almost certainly be your last .Instant oblivion . 🇬🇧
I would take about 30 mins to get around that in my Caterham R 400, if I was on Bike I be lucky to get around the first corner, you need the reflexes of Rattle Snake on Cocaine it a wise man who knows his limitations thats why I still here.
