Hello everyone! Yes we know that it is Isle Of MAN and not MEN. TIME magazine however, posted that in their title. Not sure if they were putting a play on words or not, we decided to keep their title for our own reaction.

Connor really downplays his injuries in this video. 2 10 inch rods held the various shattered and 5 broken vertebrae in his back and his arm had to be completely rebuilt with 2 plates and 16 screws. After all that he STILL went back! These people are next level humans and, love or hate the sport, you can't have anything but the utmost respect and admiration for what they do!

I... usually don't have admiration or respect for morons, but you do you.

Connor was born and grew up on the Isle of Man, so not competing would be unthinkable for him. That accident was in 2010, he was racing there in 2011, he missed 2012 due to injuries at a road race just before TT time, 2013 to 2019 he was competing, 2020 & 2021 were cancelled due to covid. 2022 & 2023 he was there, as he will be again this year. The guy who beat him, Michael Dunlop, has won 25 TTs, just one less than his late uncle Joey Dunlop, Joey is considered the greatest TT rider ever Michael has lost his uncle, father & a brother to this sport (TBF, non of them were killed at the TT) The current lap record holder is Peter Hickman, who was the first man to break the 135 mph barrier in 2018, last year he upped it to over 136 mph, you can see a riders eye pov of that lap on UA-cam, if you feel brave enough!

Conor is still racing and will be this year. He was born in the Isle of Man and although he is still to win a TT he has many podiums (12 according to Wikipedia) and normally finishes high up. He opened his own coffee shop up which in Ramsey which he used to also serve in but it closed in 2023. He still has a coffee machine and coffee grinder supplying business called Coffee Mann. His nickname is the 2 metre man as he is over 6 foot, which is very tall for a motorcycle racer and has to have a extra high screen on the bike so he can tuck under it.

Not 230mph. 200 is sometimes topped but only just. Jimbo hit 206 on a H2R but that was between the races, not in a race. Bruce hit 209mph on a Fireblade capable of 198mph, at the NW200 but that's because he was being pulled along by several riders riding abreast in front of him.

I've never raced like these guys but I understand it. I have a similar mindset. I've done things and been through things that scared me but as soon as it didn't kill me, it was behind me. If I can do something, I can do it and will continue to do it. One freak accident in the past doesn't control what I do in the future. My brother hates it. We were almost in a deadly car crash one time. We would have been killed but somehow squeaked through unharmed. While the tire and brake smoke still filled the car, I was talking about where we were headed and what we were going to be doing. My brother was a wreck and couldn't even talk. We were also in a terrible head on collision one time. We hit each other in a dust cloud on ATVs. We both had some terrible injuries. It haunted him for decades and I'd stopped thinking about it on the very night that it happened. We survived. I don't see any reason to dwell on it. Maybe there's something wrong with me. lol

The challenge of moving on after an incident is something everyone handles differently. Anyone at the top of any extreme sport has had many close calls and injuries in getting to that level. Most don't give up their passion after a single mistake, if they did they would never reach the levels they do. Many people I know across a multitude of dangerous sports, all say they would want a "clean death" doing what they love compared to wasting away in a hospital bed. Perspective.

I see it's not your fault in this case, but the video you are reacting to. It's the Isle of Man, not Men. The name does not mean "dudes", but comes from the Celtic god "Manannán".

If you fall out of an aicraft at 5000 ft you will reach terminal velocity which depends.
    Its between 120mph and 130mph.
If you fall off a back on the man on a fast stretch, you are doing 180mph to 200mph.
It all depends on what you hit.

We know it's "man" and not "men." The source we used was from TIME and that's unfortunately what they had in their own title. Maybe click the original link before blaming the UA-camrs. Just saying.

Hi m & c.check out anything by guy martin.he did well in the tt? But wasn't even a professional biker.grew up helping his dad fix lorrys(trucks in usa😀)but became a national hero because he was so humble, down to earth.been on various tv programs about speed & sheer mentalist!then went into programmes about England's industrial age, trains etc, which might sound boring but not from him & he was only in his 30's
