Mark and Cinda, So very glad you mentioned AGLCA and “Honey let’s buy a boat”. That’s how I discovered the Great Loop and the rest is history. Also very happy you are under contract. Sharon and I looked for two years so I know how excited you are. Mark, you replied to my last comment and mentioned my effort in looking for a way to get around the towns we will visit on a motorized bicycle. This means you have watched my UA-cam channel “MV Grand Plan”. I was impressed that you stalked me. So, I in turn stalked you and I am equally impressed. Sure hope we meet along the way, We start in late March ( currently planning for March 27) from Jacksonville, Fl. Art
Just subscribed. My wife and I bought our loop boat this past fall after years of boating. We plan to take our kids on the loop and homeschool. So much to consider! Thanks.
You are so kind!!! Unfortunately, we had to push the survey till next week because of a visit from everyone's least favorite virus. GRRRR. The drama and roller coaster continue.
Really excited for you all having a contract on a boat!!! WoooHoo!! Just to let you know our boat is docked in Baltimore Harbourview Marina next a live a board family who had completed the "Loop" with their, 10 years old at the time "Felix". Mathew and Jennifer are a great couple passively retired but younger. They talked with us about their experiences and adventures on the loop. They also gave us a lot information (books and such) about the loop. They still live aboard, work and their son goes to school in Baltimore. And yes the book "Honey let's buy a boat" sealed the deal for Wendy about doing the "Loop".
Thanks for the informative video. I'm one of the "maybe in 10 years" group. One thing, I suggest you switch off the autofocus on your camera. Especially if you are sitting in front of a mirror. The focus tends to wander. Set it up manually before you start, and away you go.
Thanks for the info on the camera! This particular model camera has a known problem with focus. I'm using a Boken fixed focal point lense which makes for a prettier shot, but the camera doesn't quite know what to do with it. Hopefully we will be better out in the field soon! ⚓️Mark
Cameras are not our forte. I've reached out to Panasonic and hopefully, they can help us get this annoying focus fixed. Thanks for bearing with us. Cinda
I would love to do the loop myself before im too wore out , but the wife dont think she could do it. She gets sea sick and car sick . I grew up on the water in LA area always on boats qith my dad and brother . I would love it .
Erich Collar I’m going with the Hatteras also, but in doing so I had to underestimate the powers of Cinda. A possible foolish move on my part. Either, or any yacht of that design/style, would be a great choice.
Just started following you guys. Congratulations on the boat! Wondering long you spent at the Chapman school? I’m trying to talk my wife into doing the great loop and I’m sure she would feel better if we did the school
We did one week at Chapman doing CPC 1000 and it was a game-changer for my confidence level. We did it with friends so we also had a blast. We highly recommend it! Thanks for watching! Cinda
From what I've seen/heard, you MAY run into some issues at some of the locks. The main thing I believe you would need is easy/quick access from the helm to the mid-ship cleat(s) for transiting the many locks. Although I know Marty Zoffinger is trying to single hand it on his Kon-Tiki 2, last I heard he was still headed up the Atlantic ICW.
@@michiganengineer8621 Thank you for the reminder of the name of Zoffinger. I saw some of his videos, but thought I had heard he was taking a break. Probably waiting for this spring to resume his trip. I'll look him up. Sometimes UA-cam doesn't show some content for unknown reasons.
I’m going to start the loop this spring hopefully. It all depends on when I can take delivery of my new boat. I will be doing the loop solo. My boat is a Fleming 58.
@@rogerharrison7609 Nice boat. That's a lot of boat to handle singlehanded. Have you set it up differently to make it easier to single hand? Bow thruster or stern thruster? I'll be interested to hear the details.
@@michiganengineer8621 Ok, I caught up with Marty Zoffinger. He's way behind in the video publishing, but the last one I watched said he was seriously thinking of looping in a smaller boat.
Glad you enjoyed the Rendezvous! Thanks for the shout out!
We couldn't do this without you!!! Thanks for all that you do!

Hopefully we will be right behind you on the loop! See you out there :)
I wish I found this video before the one where you shared what it was, so I could follow that part of the journey too.

Love this!
I recently joined because I wanted to go to the fall rendezvous. Joined and learned it was sold out…..🤦♂️
You will be a great boating couple. You share the dream, now share the adventure!
Thank you for saying that!

Cinda!! Love your frames in this episode… mind sharing the brand/where you got them? Also… can’t wait to see the boat. Cheers!

Maybe, maybe not LOL. Only time will tell 😂
My bet is on the Hatteras... :)

I liked the " three @ sea " videos .
We LOVE them!!! They are the ones that got us thinking we could do this with kids.
? How will we be able to track you real time when you start the loop ?
We plan to do weekly vlogs of our adventure so that you can join us. We will also post more real time info on Instagram @theboomershines

Is it possible to single hand a GL? What would I look for in a boat like that?
