100% you can tell Seth just loved the show and watched it and called them up and was like, "Can I be on this??" Rather than it being a press tour his agent put him up to.
Yea I wish more of them did stuff like this. Instead you see celebs worth $100million dollars doing advertisements… I really don’t understand why more of them don’t just decide they have enough money and start doing stuff for fun. There are a few out there, like Joseph Gordon Levitt, he started Hitrecord to allow people to collaborate on art projects together as a community, and he pretty much exclusively does hollywood movies to fund his own movie or to help keep Hitrecord running. Rick Moranis was another one, he hit it big and then decided to leave the industry to raise children. Dave Chapelle quit the chapelle show went to africa and would randomly appear at small comedy shows. Theres that one legendary video where he was just talking to the audience for like 5hours straight about current events, and somehow was cracking jokes the entire time.
I love how you can tell he genuinely watches this show, because he uses the same technical language as you guys, which combined with his producer/director insight makes for a very interesting perspective.
Another show where the same actor does multiple characters in one shot (up to around 5 sometimes!) is Orphan Black, I'd love to see that on this series too!
Yeah! It's crazy what they could do on a TV budget, paired with how good Tatiana Muslanny is at all the characters, it was so easy to forget they were all the same actress. The only time i think it failed was the dance scene at the end of season 4.
Omfg this just made me realize why people have asked me if we surf to school in Hawaii. It was just so out there that someone would even joke about using a surfboard as a mode of transportation, let alone be a semi-genuine question (along with the classic, "Do you wear grass skirts?"). It never dawned on me that I've seen people using it as transportation in a movie. I just assumed it was big enough of a thing in populous cities to not be so confusing to people but I'm sure I don't know a LOT of legitimately true things about Texas even though we have cowboys here lol.
Mr Rogen's comments reminded me that I'd love to see a retrospective of the vfx on Star Trek - from TOS all the way through the Kelvin timeline (although that might end up being too much for one episode).
That absolutely needs to happen... Especially the really rough effects from Star Trek V. Comparing the original TOS and remastered would be pretty interesting too.
I would love to see them speak about TOS, especially as for me, they were some of the first space effects where we actually got close up views and a sense of mass for the space ship. The Enterprise in TOS actually felt like a large ship in space, something that hadn’t really been achieved before imo.
How about, and hear me out on this, they make a Special. As in a 1,5 hour long video (or longer if need be). Hell, they could have a 30-45 minute one on YT and the full length one on their website.
I need Seth Rogen on this show as much as possible. Get him on even if it's just through Google Meets while he's on the shitter. He's funny, he's smart, and he's willing to explain his process which helps think outside the box on things like this.
@yaliso gioouy tbh they all prolly smoke. They live in la and it's very much a part of Cali culture so if they do even better for them. Maybe it even helps their creativity.
9:10 Side note: This same basic logic is why Spaceballs looks so good. Mel Brooks paid big money for ILM to do the effects because he realized that if the effects looked cheap or tacky, it would ruin the jokes. Also, they should totally do Spaceballs someday.

I legit didn’t realize until watching this that Seth played both roles in an American pickle haha. Like they are obviously both Seth, but it was so seamless that I just got immersed. Probably because i kept getting lost in that magnificent beard
One movie I'd like you guys to cover is "Kong Fu Yoga". It stars Jackie Chan and is his highest grossing Chinese movie ever and it has some awful high budget CGI integration. There is a Lion in a car scene that is just hilariously terrible
Easy now everyone. The movie was originally a colab between and a Chinese and an Indian production company, but then the Indian company backed out for certain reasons during production. Those reasons may be quite obvious to informed observers
Please do the scene in Interview with the Vampire when Lestat is "killed" by Claudia. The transition from Tom to his animatronic is still so seamless its beautiful. Love your videos!
@@insaincaldo Oh for sure, that certainly helps, but I think the sci-fi trope of air-surfing is doing more to help the filmmaker than the animation is. Hoverboards were introduced as a method of transportation, so audiences accept it. Surfing on water was introduced as, and always will be recreation, so our brain call bull. But make it air-surfing, hoverboarding, etc. in a sci-fi world, and it’s way easier to use as a narrative tool.
With the success of Squid Game, you should do an episode on some South Korean films and tv shows. The Host had some pretty cool creature effects and I really enjoyed the monsters in Sweet Home.
So much of film making is not on the screen in a good way. The skill to make the audience unaware that hundreds of people worked to make it appear that two people are in a scene in a time and place that no longer, if ever existed. Bravo.
It's worth noting that the iconic BEEEEES scene is the film's unused alternate ending. It's possible the VFX were not fully locked as a result. The one thing that it did nail, though, was bee physics. The way the bees pour like liquid is spot on.
Seth Rogan is my absolute hero, I hope I can be half the man he is and I love corridor I been watching for years and I'm so proud and envious of you guys omfg

Another shot that has the same actor as multiple characters is in an old Soviet movie called "Ivan Vasilievich Changes Profession" near the end where there's two of them in strait-jackets and the character's wife interacts with both of them.

Me: "Hey Seth. Could you describe how people could recognize that it is indeed you in one sentence?"
Seth: *starts laughing*
Me: "Perfect."
I let the video autoplay and didn't even pay attention to the thumbnail or anything... when the laughter came, I was like: "Yep, Seth's here"
I love how they just glossed over the fact nick cage wanted to do the green hornet as a white Jamaican
I LOST MY SHIT WHEN HE SAID THAT
Seth talks more about it in his book and the conan podcast
Yeah, so they had to "settle" for Christoph Waltz... "Aw man, we didn't get the 1995 Camry? Dang it. I guess we're stuck with the Lamborghini, then."
When I heard that, it reminded me of Gary Oldman in True Romance
The Santa inc Animators React video is going to be pretty fun
Seth's right. I credit this show as the reason my knowledge and understanding of lighting got me a first in university as a cinematographer. If you're looking to get into filmmaking, this is such a digestible way to learn all the bits you won't get taught elsewhere!
Good luck on your projects!!
Man, they actually got Donkey Kong himself to look at these VFX shots with them?
Right
Man, Seth is the coolest. His appearances on this show have really taken my appreciation for him to the next level
11:34 “leaning into our limitations” I absolutely love that mindset. It creates unique and memorable things and I’m so glad to hear directors talk like that.
I’m wondering if Corridor has done M. Night’s Last Airbender bending scenes before and if they could make the bending look better.
I have seen them talking about it
Why did you post that?
Just report the unwanted commercial content or spam
What movie are you talking about??
@@AleXanDraPR369 live action avatar the last airbender, directed by M. Night Shyamalan
Seth: "A good dummy goes a long way"
Niko: ".......I love dummies"
His laugh is like that of someone that has only read about laughing and got it kinda close.
😂😂
His laugh is like a really old car that won't start
It's possibly the most annoying laugh I've heard since Janice!
I love his laugh
“Legend of The Guardians: The Owls of Ga’Hoole” directed by Zack Snyder, 2010, day 261.
I absolutely loved those books. they made a movie???
@@Dark0neone Yeah, it's an Zack Snyder movie. One of his lesser known movies. But most people that watched it, love that movie.
@@damyr55 2010 was a shitty time in my life so that's probably why I didn't see it. Thanks so much for reminding me it exists. :)
@@Dark0neone I may have to go back and watch the film again, as I don't remember much of the story, but visually stunning doesn't seem strong enough a statement.
The vfx was so well done.
This was very fun to watch! Everyone was charming and nicely professional and respectful, and it was great how they bounced off one another.
Great video, and I hope we get to see Seth again some time later with the crew, because his genuine personality and real experience make him another great guest for this show!
Awesome video!
It's nice to see a celebrity do a collaboration with a UA-cam channel where they actually seem so interested and keen on discussing the subject matter.
100% you can tell Seth just loved the show and watched it and called them up and was like, "Can I be on this??" Rather than it being a press tour his agent put him up to.
@@kellenrust4148 Heres hoping it leads to more celebrities appearing, I mean Seth knows people he can pull some strings!
Yea I wish more of them did stuff like this. Instead you see celebs worth $100million dollars doing advertisements…
I really don’t understand why more of them don’t just decide they have enough money and start doing stuff for fun.
I love how knowledgeable and smart Seth is about the movie producing universe, I could watch this series with him forever
This is awesome
I love how you can tell he genuinely watches this show, because he uses the same technical language as you guys, which combined with his producer/director insight makes for a very interesting perspective.
Seth Rogen’s laugh is how I imagine a young Santa who hasn’t yet mastered “Ho ho ho”.
Sounds to me like a Very high Santa...lol
I sense the next Christmas movie box office smash is in the works
His laughter reminds me of Pod Racing noises.
12:59 "Not understanding the bigger picture" is a great film pun
I would love to see Adam savage on here talking about miniatures in films and his time at ILM, please make it happen
God yes
Another show where the same actor does multiple characters in one shot (up to around 5 sometimes!) is Orphan Black, I'd love to see that on this series too!
Great idea, that show is amazing, love it, so much brilliant work in it!
Maybe do an episode all about actors acting with themselves.
What Happened to Monday
Coming to America
WandaVision
Parent Trap
The special effect is the actress.
When she can show its one characters impersonating another character thats genius
Yeah! It's crazy what they could do on a TV budget, paired with how good Tatiana Muslanny is at all the characters, it was so easy to forget they were all the same actress. The only time i think it failed was the dance scene at the end of season 4.
@@Cavero427 Yep, I agree, that dance scene was pretty cringe but still loved the silliness of it! 😂
His nick cage impression “I don’t want to sit in to much makeup” was spot on
Mr Rogen's comments reminded me that I'd love to see a retrospective of the vfx on Star Trek - from TOS all the way through the Kelvin timeline (although that might end up being too much for one episode).
Yes and PLEASE invite Seth Rogen for TOS since he said he's a big fan in this episode!
@@The_Keeper THAT might finally tip me over the edge and get me to subscribe to the website.
I need Seth Rogen on this show as much as possible. Get him on even if it's just through Google Meets while he's on the shitter. He's funny, he's smart, and he's willing to explain his process which helps think outside the box on things like this.
"you're probably wondering why seth rogen is here"
because he's high and likes to watch cgi
@yaliso gioouy tbh they all prolly smoke. They live in la and it's very much a part of Cali culture so if they do even better for them. Maybe it even helps their creativity.
9:10 Side note: This same basic logic is why Spaceballs looks so good. Mel Brooks paid big money for ILM to do the effects because he realized that if the effects looked cheap or tacky, it would ruin the jokes.
Also, they should totally do Spaceballs someday.
Oooh a Spaceballs pre-sequel reboot hahaha
Wren: "How much time was there between when you started shooting all the Herschel stuff and then when you had to shoot the Ben stuff later?"
My dumb brain: "Has to be at least a few months, that beard is thicc..."
the beard was first so they could continue shooting with his shaved look immediately
i cant believe you got donkey kong on the show
Having Seth Rogen there is such a great addition. He just seems like, so happy to be there with you guys and so into the efffects! And that Seth Rogen trademark laugh, LOL. Please keep inviting him back, he's so genuine and enjoyable with you guys on the couch :-D
I love how calmly he talks about how he is with Seth Rogan
This was your best episode ever of this. Seth was such a good guest and everything he had to share was super interesting!
These videos made me realize just how well rounded Seth actually is as a filmmaker. He's clearly very knowledgeable about a broad spectrum of topics related to the film industry and has put a lot of thought into what actually makes a good film from the storytelling to the visuals to the acting.
Agreed, respect has grown, he had a lot to contribute
It's awesome because of how much experience he has on set, he's the producer that you would want to your movie. Cause he has enough experience to know what looks good
The problem with the bee scene isn't CGI, it's the fact that he's screaming "they're in my eyes" with mouth wide open.
Seths laugh is like that one dude who just laughs when he doesn't get the joke
The bee's on Tony Todd in the original Candyman can never be outperformed.
He’s venom
They were actually real 😂😂
If you’re looking for really masterful foreign animation (french):
-Kirikou and the sorceress
-Azur et Asmar
Incredible colour work, beautiful use of both 3D and 2D
As a Caribbean person. In my own personal opinion, him wanting that role as a white jamaican would have been great and possibly hilarious 🤣.
Imagine how easy American pickle would have been if Seth had a twin.
Yea but the movie and seths whole career would be less intriguing
He kinda looks like Tom hardy in it
I had forgotten that they talked about bad CGI with Seth Rogen. Huge props for Seth to having the cojones to not just talk about good stuff.
RLM is doing a break down of their top John Carpenter movies. They talked extensively about Escape from LA and some of the behind the scenes.
Yes I was thinking about that too, very good timing I must say!
VERY COOL!
haha i mentioned that too, except both Rich and Jay hate LA, and was like last on the list, since NY is like a classic film and LA is pure janky cheese. but ive always loved it haha, i agree they wasted bruce campbell but still its just a fun movie, plus it inspired MGS.
not every Carpenter can be a Thing/Big Trouble/They Live haha, but LA is definitely better than Vampires or Ghosts of Mars
I legit didn’t realize until watching this that Seth played both roles in an American pickle haha. Like they are obviously both Seth, but it was so seamless that I just got immersed. Probably because i kept getting lost in that magnificent beard
Ding!
"He wanted to play the character as a white Jamaican man"
That def sounds like Nick Cage lmao
One movie I'd like you guys to cover is "Kong Fu Yoga". It stars Jackie Chan and is his highest grossing Chinese movie ever and it has some awful high budget CGI integration. There is a Lion in a car scene that is just hilariously terrible
Jesus fucking Christ, that film is awful and cheesy.
It is actually a bollywood movie with Jackie chan in it.
@@mokshilgada7464 No, it's a Chinese movie that has some Indian actors in it.
Easy now everyone. The movie was originally a colab between and a Chinese and an Indian production company, but then the Indian company backed out for certain reasons during production. Those reasons may be quite obvious to informed observers
@@g-rated3514 Hey look, someone knows how to read Wikipedia
Please do the scene in Interview with the Vampire when Lestat is "killed" by Claudia. The transition from Tom to his animatronic is still so seamless its beautiful. Love your videos!
It's a real honor to be on your show corridor crew!

I'd love to see visual effects artists tackle Penn and Teller's Fool Us. Because technically all magic is just practical visual effects done live.
Treasure Planet is actually a great example of when “surfing” works as transportation.
They didn't have to suspend disbelief as hard as live action.
That's a form of windsurfing
“Nicolas Cage was almost the villain in the Green Hornet but wanted to play it as a white Jamaican dude“ hahaha
he tells the story on Conan's podcast, it's also in his book apparently. The stories are insane
With the success of Squid Game, you should do an episode on some South Korean films and tv shows. The Host had some pretty cool creature effects and I really enjoyed the monsters in Sweet Home.
Korean Zombie drama Kingdom and Ashin of the North.
I also want to see some stuff in Alice in Borderland tbh
I think Corridor should really make Seth a part of the team permanently... What a insightful and fun loving guy 😀
So much of film making is not on the screen in a good way. The skill to make the audience unaware that hundreds of people worked to make it appear that two people are in a scene in a time and place that no longer, if ever existed. Bravo.
I genuinely love hearing Seth's input and perspective on these
You need better idols.... Phuqq
I imagine Seth Rogen as a funny quirky actor, and forget the fact that he's an intelligent filmmaker as well!
Corridor crew is the most inspiring film channel out there! Thanks for all the work and it’s great to see the scale that the channel has grown 😁👍
Your absolutely right about nick cage playing a jamaican villain in green hornet not being a good idea……. It would of been a great idea😜
This video and the last video with Seth made me realize that he's truly a brilliant visionary director who is very passionate in the industry. He has really good eye for detail too
More people need to be like Seth and reach out to be on the show, because i would bet there are so many people that would love to talk about work they've done, or just goof about weird looking cg
REACT TO BEOWULF!!! LOVE THAT MOVIE!!!
Palpatine: DO IT
The Angelina Jolie one?
That would be fantastic!
You need to bring Seth back to talk more about Preacher, it’s one of the most underrated shows ever
Another shot that has the same actor as multiple characters is in an old Soviet movie called "Ivan Vasilievich Changes Profession" near the end where there's two of them in strait-jackets and the character's wife interacts with both of them.
Love that movie!
I mean, how could you not love Seth Rogen? His energy is just contagious
I love this. Specially the bit when talking about making the explosions bigger than they should reminded me to LOTR the bts with the witch kings mace. So good.
I want a Seth narrated gps with his signature laugh when I miss turns
He did the station stops and safety messages on our transit system... Specifically the Skytrain system here in Vancouver (his hometown).
