A lot of you have major issues with speculation and thinking it's fact: The boat was out fishing and noticed some splashing (when fishing this is usually a sign of good fish activity). As they got closer they realized it was the Great White eating a sea lion. As you can see in the video. It is not "bait" that was thrown overboard in an attempt to lure sharks. The title clearly reads "off the coast of mission bay". This is indeed where this activity occured. Not clickbait at all. It's amazing how people can watch a short video and come up with their own conclusion just off of that. Simple research will usually give you a lot more information on what the video shows.
@@trishmorton782 off Mission Bay would essentially have to mean off the coast, unless they were suggesting it was IN the bay, which seems unlikely given the shape and size of the bay. Now I’m going to go look up whether great whites ever swim into our bay.

My husband saw three dolphins off the shore in front of the Bahia hotel he has been coming here since he was a kid so over sixty years never saw or heard of dolphins in the bay before .
Although it is exciting to see a shark that close to this fishing boat I don’t appreciate the clickbait headline saying this was in Mission Bay when it really wasn’t.
Always wanted to see a shark especially a great white I got my wish hiking off Torrey Pines I saw two junior great whites and a dolphin near by it’s was BadAss!
It's as if the shark was checking out the boat and established dominance for the carcass, then determined them not to be a threat and took its time consuming what was left. Pretty fascinating to watch!
Vacation from island gradalupe. They chase newly caught fish towards boat, post there teeth, newly caught fish are approx 30-40%, once pulled into boat. Smart sharks, they let the fisherman catch for them.
titles kinda disingenuous since mission bay is through a roundabout inland water system. if it was offshore, of 'mission bay', it was actually off ocean beach, pb, or la jolla. But they knew they would get clicks conflating the shark with an inland bay..
The Chinese definitely do some illegal/inhumane actions regarding fishing as far as their methods. But legal sport fishing, like this boat here in the states is not negatively affecting the ecosystem.

They were 14 miles off shore fishing ... my friend was on that boat...he has a longer video of the GWS swimming around the boat
@@skeleman1963 cool! Ty
Dude people reply without even watching the video.
They’re going to need a bigger boat 🛥
"Here's to swimmin with bow legged wimen."

25 miles out, isn’t off mission bay click bait for a bad video
It literally says off the coast of mission bay. Mission bay has an inlet connecting it directly with the ocean. The boat left out of said inlet.
0:02 Sharks like HEY GUYS o/
that lunch was my pet seal that got away and decided to live the free life in the ocean... serves you right for leaving home slimy Joe!!

I was expecting wayyy more "we're going to need a bigger boat" quotes
Dang it. I guess I’m not creative. I just bigger boated this post.

Ya wtf
exactly right
It says off the coast...the boat left from mission bay. So 25 miles off of mission bay. Would you rather them say "in the middle of the ocean"?
The lunch looked like a smaller shark. I'd like to know what it was.
Sea lion
I agree it wouldn’t be off mission bay it would be pacific beach or mission beach.
Megladon 🦸♂️💪🏾⚡️🖐🏽 I set them free
Yeah Kal-El ancient Dinosaurs of the Sea....not a Great White Brother much bigger
Megladon for those that don't know. They are active it's Billions in the sea and rivers right now
Always wanted to see a shark especially a great white I got my wish hiking off Torrey Pines I saw two junior great whites and a dolphin near by it’s was BadAss!
I think the shark smelled fresh
"tourists" in the ocean?! 🤣
Seems like alot more shark encounters in general. Good to see their populations recovering, I guess.
What do you mean I guess it's great they are recovering
Or more like there food shortages are less
Definitely a good thing!
@@pabloramos420 you must not swim in the ocean often
I hope they help lower the human population
That's a twenty footer; twenty five, three tonnes of em

"Off Mission Bay" lol... talk about clickbait.

That's way further out than mission bay . .
What was it eating

People act like sharks don’t exist. Nothing exiting about this.
The ocean is the only reason we exist.
Nah. I exist because there are tacos that need to be eaten.
Did you all hear the horror in their voices? This would make a good movie.
Yeah! But then it got all quiet once they thought they were safe haha crazy!
I noticed that too!
Good thing they were 25 miles off shore
Sounded like a bunch of hill Billy’s yodeling. Uuuuurrrrmyyygeeerrrrd
I'd like to see how you sound with this encounter.
That's a baby shark
EXCITING! 🦈🦈🦈
What did it eat? Dolphin? Seal?
Nancy Pelosi
Sea lion
Gonna need a bigger boat.
There’s A Shark in The Ocean!! 🦈
…CANCEL THE OCEANS 🚫🌊
……Is that how this works? 🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
I fly up and down the coast almost daily and see them. Who wants to come flying and take a look?
I’m game 🙂
boooo
As a Geologist I’d love to do some sightseeing from above
Absolutely. I can even help out with the flying
Time and place? 😎
One more reason why I won't go into the ocean!!

The chrter is likely out of Mission Bay, but they should have said "25 miles off the coast of San Diego."
Must be 19-20 feet long.
15-18
This is equivalent to walking in a house, and saying there's someone home. 🤦
🤡🌏
.no swimming
WONDER IF THERES SHARKS IN THE OCEAN OUTSIDE THE DOME??
We are going to see more sharks as we keep overfishing our seas
Dear God, that a stupid remark....I guess you don't know how this works?
we banned killing them in 1991 and now there population has grown in size.
Wut......
