Fun fact: T1 Bard's recall animation has Bard comforting Lux, because Lux is Keria's favourite champion, but he didnt play her at Worlds so he was not allowed to pick a skin for her.
Bard is a very special type of support, he's never the most picked support because of how specific he is, but at the same time he's also never unplayable. He could pop up at any time and it's always fun and exciting when someone picks him. He's also very easy to screw up with, you can kill you entire team with a misplaced ultimate.
By the way now Riot made their own League wiki. It's almost not different but definetly much better. (the fandom wiki will stop updating I think. Since original moderators went to oficcial wiki)

the short story about Byrd is in the flavor text onf the Cards on legend of runeterra. every card have a small description or history on it u can read. the story about the future was in a interactive comic u can read in the game laucher, it was put out as a teaser for Bard launch ( it actually came before the cinematic where u can see person watching bard coming in, as he is scaping the city with the childrens)
Bard is a pure utility support aka he's as good as you can make him be, one of the hardest to master as he's one of those champion that played so differently that you can't pull on your experiences from other supports. Plus he's much more macro focused (actually knowing how to plan and win a game beyond piloting your champion which is micro). Generally, he's not tanky and doesn't heal much. What I can see from watching, he's offer positional advantage with W moment speed buff, engage or disengage with E, delay and lock down enemy with R, Q stun and slow debuff on normal attacks. R specifically depend entirely on you to pull out any uses, could be the game winner, entirely useless or worse.
He's very fun to play (or at least was back when I still played LoL), but hard to master. They weren't kidding when they said he has a lot of versatility, and his ultimate can easily screw your own team over if you misplace it.

in the bard cinematic, the blue orb he grab was a item in game that was removed.. so this is kinda the reason it was removed from the game XD
