I've listened to every podcast since the beginning and also Sober Dave's. I know your target audience is predominantly men, however, there's women also struggling to open up and handle addiction (such as myself) and wanted to say thanks and what a privilege it's been to follow you on your journey.
He’s speaking from a man’s perspective as that’s what he is but there’s lots of great universal information and wisdom that everyone can relate to and use. Good luck on your journey 👍🏻
Massive congrats Dan. You really have been a big inspiration for so many people (lads). I’m sitting on day 298 myself, again with you playing a big part to play in that. Keep fighting the good fight Sir 👊
Dan you’re the biggest inspiration for my sobriety thank you so much for doing this work I don’t think you’ll ever understand how valuable it is to us all 👏
Respect to you Dan. You have done the work and you are helping others to do theirs. You are helping me that’s for sure. Keep it up. It makes a difference
Well done Dan such an achievement. Been watching from the beginning and such good insight into addiction, watching as a woman with a partner who has addiction your podcasts have really helped me to understand more.
Hand on heart, recently you have helped me through the hardest time in my life. I can relate to you so much.. Losing my Dad to addiction and struggling with long term addictions and mental health problems that I have been battling with since I was a kid. Whenever the bastard gremlin has chirped up, I have put one of the podcasts on and now me and the Mrs listen every week. I can see how much you have put in and how much more you are getting out and thanks to you guys, I am doing the same. Hats off to you on one year. And Thank you man
Hi mate , just checking in to see if your ok ? Haven't seen any podcasts for a while now and i loved them . Hope your doing well pal, i recently celebrated 450 days sober and it was due to watching your early podcasts telling me to try a CA meeting. So thank you x

Congratulations Dan, massive commitment to your sobriety and new life... I've watched most of your interviews so far and it's plain to see in your body language you are much more present and look relaxed!! Great to see. Much love from New Zealand 💚
Totally inspirational..listen every week been on a very simular journey. Don't know how I found the podcast but seems like faith because its one I look forward to every week and some weeks has made me think twice about going back on it so thanks to everyone that's involved in the production and long may it last lads ❤
Bloody love you guys. So much information. You are inspiring so many people. Well done on a year of sobriety 🙌 your doing amazing. More off the street kinda guests would be great. Like you said every podcast comes with different people who are going thru different addiction. Hope I make sense. I'm adhd and dyslexic too so sometimes I don't put it quite right 😅
amazing achievement. when people have an answer to the first question of what would you say to yourself a year ago ? and people answer "" don't be hard on yourself, or don't feel guilty"" etc etc...but I think....all if that is crucial....like that's part of the healing journey isn't it. I love that Dan's first answer was that he would say "" it's going to be ok"" I honestly love this podcast.i did a year and half clean of H and C .... then I moved house, and I can't even explain the stress it caused me, I'm bipolar, and have moved before, but this.....this move truly crippled me in every emotion, mental state possible for some reason....back at it again.....and need to make sure I don't do it again.... congratulations Dan 🎉🎉
John. Would be great if you guys could get me and my twin brother on the show. Both struggling to keep sober but in our separate ways. I use for physical pain relief/not care about it and my brother because his personal situation that involves how his ex his uses his kids as weapons.. Absolute respect for Daniel and what you said at the start. A message from the future was a great question. Onlookers perspective is fresh and naive in a good way to actually ask the right questions in an honest way 👍🏻
My year started on 31st December and the intent is a full year off in 2024. You are one of the only people out there I can relate to and look up to in terms of getting sober. We approach drugs and alcohol in a very similar way and your success in sobriety gives me hope. Thanks Dan 🩵
@@MsSheilaC well done. I’m doing ok. I have had two occasions where I have had two drinks since December 30th. One instance I caved and had two beers with a mate where I was actually trying to make him feel comfortable which was silly on my part. The second time I had two glasses of wine at dinner after a bit of a family crisis. Not proud of breaking my streak but it’s 4 standard drinks in 4 months. I am maintaining the goal to stay sober going forward and no intention to make it regular again (my real problem was cocaine and not touched it although I think about it regularly). How are you feeling so far?
@@aloeblack8853 I think youre doing great and that's a great way to look at it. Youre four months sober, minus four drinks! isnt it crazy what we do to make others feel comfortable? lol I was offered wine by a wine maker at his party, who knows my background w wine but didnt know I had stopped drinking, and he was so enthisiuastic to know my opinion that I took the smallest sip possible but still looking like I was tasting... It was hysterical to me but that the only time Ive dabbled w it in two months (I went into the garden and dumped the rest so not to be tempted or mindless w a glass in my hand). it hasnt been the glorious results that most ppl seem to report two months in, but Im in it for the long haul and will be patient. At some point things will get better. I honestly think the older one is and the more time regularly drinking, is relative to the time it takes to detox the brain and organs etc. I wasnt alcoholic but had a regular habit and at 60, thats some time put in. Im going to make my 60's one of my best decades.
