Just got quoted 688$ for it to be done on my truck. The hub assembly was 157 @ auto zone and I’m expecting it to take me atleast 2 hrs since it’s a first time. But I definitely appreciate this channel, It’s helped me with replacing my calipers and water pump!
So, exactly how many times did you hammer the wheel bearing before it came out? I'm about 200 hits in and was just curious since you skipped over that part?
Ya fn right if you dont have a good air impact those bolts arent turning had to use impact and panther piss for most bolts the he uses a file like a cave man shit harbor freight has cheep buffing wheels see why he gets paid by the hour other than seeing heman not break a sweat good informative video
My father's 2009 Dodge Ram hub bearing assembly was no good . He took it to a shop since he was on the road. The gentleman (lol) at the counter quoted him 400 for the hub and 200 for labor. He called me immediately , I found it for 119 and being that , I've done this plenty of times it took 30 minutes. It was two wheel drive so it was that much easier. These videos are a great way to learn,If your inexperienced.

Thank you, thank you, thank you. Hub assembly shredded going down the road. It's 19 degrees and snowing your video helped me get the job done fast. Now to try and thaw out.
Just FYI: AutoZone sells the dust (backing plate) in case yours are as rusted out as mine were. For my 08 Ram 1500 it was part#924-684 and SKU#271806 made by Dorman. They may also be available elsewhere. Be careful to line them up with the open spot where the caliper goes!! Mine were mislabled!! (Passenger side labeled "L" and driver labeled "R." )
My new hub bearing came with speed sensor but the one took off don't have one trucks apart can I still use new bearing with out plugging it in to something

You might want to mention that you don't have to disconnect the tie rod or upper control arm on the 2wd models. Just pulled mine out of my 2007 1500, and was able to get it without either of those due to no front drive axle. It's a beast to knock that sucker out after over 175k miles, though. My dust shield needed a little straightening after I got it a couple times with the hammer.
Thanks for your comment! I m waiting on my hub bearing assembly from eBay and was going to follow this great video. You just made it even better as I have an 07 2wd.
Thanks for this, I have an 07 2WD and watched this thinking I dont think I need to take off tie rod and upper arm? Glad I was correct. Thanks for the tip
Great video. I've changed so many hub bearing assembly so many times I think I can do it in my sleep! I've changed hub bearing's on Dodge Ram 1500 From 97's to my 08 ram and some had very low miles on them that were original factory bearings that were bad.... what is the problem with these particular bearings why don't they last. I'm not sure but I don't believe this has been a problem for the other major truck manufacturer's. Why don't Dodge recognize the issue and fix it because I don't believe my history is isolated...My 2008 front hub bearing's were changed at 70,000 miles and they just recently started clicking again at 135,000 miles... I've also had a bearing break apart traveling at around 50 mph I guess I am lucky I'm not someone who panics or the conclusion of the event could have been a lot different, as it was I was able to slow it down and get it to the side of the road without killing myself or doing any additional damage to the truck. But here I am again refreshing my memory in order to change yet again another hub bearing!!! What really sucks is now I live in northern Maine and it's February, oh yeah and did I mention I don't have a garage like I did in Tennessee.... just the other day it was -40 with -70 degrees wind chill... lmao....on top of that on the 16th I'm having back surgery to install a Spinal Cord Stimulator.... eeeeeyup good times!!!! Thanks again for the refresher course...
Look I love you guys videos but the one time I would be looking for the Torque foot for the axle bolt for my Dodge ram 1500 2008 and you guys totally skipped it lol just my luck.. still and always will support
question. If I needed to change out the whole drive shaft does it just pull away or out from the other end? and then align the new one and pus it in or what is in detail to replace the shaft? thanks
The lug nuts om my 06' Ram are not solid. They have a thin chrome metal cap that covers the actual nut. If you use an impact gun on them after a couple times it dents up those caps where you have to pound the socket on. Other auto manufacturers use the same type as well but if you use a hand wrench they usually wont dent.
Very good video! Just have a question. I have a 2006 Dodge Ram 1500 and do not see any sensor connected to the spindle. In fact there is no connection at all. I don't see any ABS wiring either. Please help.
+Miriam Moreno If your 06 has no front wheel ABS abs no driver's side speed sensor on the wheel hub bearing assembly we carry these wheel hub bearing assemblies. Here is a link to them goo.gl/egHuXR Hope this helps you out.
Might wanna update this. My 07' dodge ram needs a 43mm for the axle nut. 35mm is way too small. Wasted a whole weekend thinking I could replace mine due to this video

Pat Horner mine is a 07 1500 SLT with a 5.7 and it is just like that. I went ahead and ordered 2 with abs because that was the kit. I’m just cutting off wire to one side
For the love of god make sure you have a strut and not a coil over like mine because following these steps will kill you if you have mine which is a 2007 dodge ram! side note if you have the 2007 dodge ram 1500 laramie you can just release the tie rod end and turn the assemble and remove without ever releasing the upper control arm.
ronald holstein If you have the 2wd model, you don't need to disconnect anything but the caliper. Turn the wheel all the way to the opposite side, and beat it out from the back with a block and hammer. Only took me 30 minutes of beating and prying to get mine out, lol.
If you don't, your abs light will stay on if you have front abs. To my knowledge, it will disable abs to the whole vehicle. If you only have rear wheel, then it doesn't matter.
I see why he gets paid by the hour i got some rotors i need turned maybe he can use his file other than using cave man tools very informative video you should do a non 4wheel drive video parts are different

About 500 once and 5 on another truck
Dude you’ve helped me so much with my 08 ram 1500. Appreciate it. You’ve got a subscriber out of me
I love how every nut turns with little effort...not on my 06 Ram lol
no sweat, no panther piss, no impact, no muss, no fuss.....just tap it out

Is it OK if I can use a Wire Brush? I don't have a file if it will still work with just a Wire Brush?
Anybody else notice how NICE his truck looks!!! Does this truck even get driven!

I see a sensor wire on the driver side not on the other side of my 06 Big Horn, is this correct?
Very simple. Thanks for sharing. The two wheel drive is a lil easier

@@1AAuto just did my 2008 2wd fronts today. One side had a plug other side didn't. For the abs. Think it was the driver's side that had it.

Do i need to realign the front end after this job ?
Try using a wheel puller to easily pull your bearing off. Worked for me and was very easy.
Is this the same for a 2008 dodge Ram sxt v6? 2wd as well
what length are those wheel studs that comes with the new hub? 2.9inches long ?
Look I love you guys videos but the one time I would be looking for the Torque foot for the axle bolt for my Dodge ram 1500 2008 and you guys totally skipped it lol just my luck.. still and always will support

It should pop out . There's a lil ring clip type deal holds it in. Just a sharp tug should get the shaft out the trans
Is it necessary to remove the upper ball joint on a RWD model?
No

Is there any difference between this job on this truck and the same job on a 2012 Ram 1500?

Why can't you just take the 3 bolts out theback of the wheel bearing without taking the spindle half way apart? Seems like excessive work
Great step by step video!
Thanks for watching. 1aauto.com
I lost count on mine and went for about 3 hours off and on with PB blaster 😅
Thank you 🙏
Is it the same for an 09 Ram ?
Is it the same for a 2009 Dodge Ram 1500? Cant seen to find any videos for the 2009 model...
On my 2006 the left side has the wheel speed sensor, the right side does not, does this sound right?
Pat Horner mine is a 07 1500 SLT with a 5.7 and it is just like that. I went ahead and ordered 2 with abs because that was the kit. I’m just cutting off wire to one side
is it the same in the back
Nope, the rear is a completely different ball game.

He must had that apart before mine, was a pain in the ass nothing came off that easy they need to do it on a truck that's been sitting for awhile
do you have to have the the abs sensor
+John Labauve Thank you for watching, but we do not carry the ABS sensor alone for this model. 1aauto.com
If you don't, your abs light will stay on if you have front abs. To my knowledge, it will disable abs to the whole vehicle. If you only have rear wheel, then it doesn't matter.
ya because the Hub nut come loose like that... try heat and one hell of a impact gun!
+Adam M Thanks for the feedback!
Can you do that
A 35mm Socket is the same size as 1 3/8" Socket.
35mm socket too small for the axle nut.
Definitely do not have to disconnect the tierod and ball joint lol
This is not for a 2wd ! Way different and not mentioned!
Well that truck won’t last long before it gets I to an accident, the axle but wasn’t torqued down!
Who pays for the extra unnecessary disassembly of ball joints and tie rod end? Nobody does what’s not necessary. Well maybe amateurs
I hear a little noise in my truck I think it's going to be this
I call B.S. 2 hours hitting hub, and it is still tight!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You didn't tighten or torque axle nut
I see why he gets paid by the hour i got some rotors i need turned maybe he can use his file other than using cave man tools very informative video you should do a non 4wheel drive video parts are different
