- That's right, this is all the cutscenes right here, not just the 2D animation. I'm posting this because I'm still attempting to put this on Megaupload, but it's is STILL hating on me, but I'm hoping to soon have a link where you can download it. :3

When initially playing the game I had NO idea Mr Bumby was operating an underground child prostitution ring. This is one of the most racy,taboo games I have ever played. It is a game that I will never forget.
I like what the Cheshire Cat says at the end- he says that pretty much, once you recognize the truth.. it's pretty painful at first. And you may not be able to look at anything the same ever again. But it's worth it; knowing what is really there.

As someone who suffers from memory depression, that quote means a lot to me. I discovered what it was through this game and I realized what I was going through wasn't just my imagination
Alice is the only charter in a video game who questions why they don't do their own quests

I love how she is crazy but badass, beautiful, and even funny
I love the story, and the level designs…all the drawings, props, traps, enemies, you really feel that these are all interpretations of Alice’s feelings; something that used to make you smile is now corrupted and is turned against you.
Overall, the story, it being quite the deep moral. A girl having herself blamed for something she did not do, the grudge being pushed down her throat and the endless pain and depression ever soaring through her mind. She tries to justify herself, she isn’t sick; she’s in pain. But nobody who really reaches out for her, giving her what she really needs. All but her Wonderland friends…
Although they may appear threatening, or they may appear as they want to harm Alice, they’re all merely afraid of HER.
She is destroying her own beautiful mind: Wonderland. They are the creatures who roam over wonderland, and she’s her own murderer - the Infernal Train is her own invention.
And if it wasn't enough, the doctor is ever more pushing it down her mind and blaming her.
If one only knew the darker intentions the doctor had in mind by letting these children forget their past…
They are nothing but mere numbers. They are but the mortal bodies that walk on the earth, all forgetting their “unproductive” memories.
She’s not just being tortured by herself, but others around her, who suffer the same pain, have a huge influence on her as well.

Yes. Pris Witless, Radcliffe, Nanny, and Bumby are the one’s who influenced this tge most. The least among the four being her Nanny, who actually sympathized with her on a certain level and the most being Bumby, who used her madness in a meticulous plan to cover his tracks on the crime (s) he did. The Train as The Dollmaker said, was her own invention, powered by her madness and operated by the Dollmaker.

Anyone who likes these cutscenes but hasn't played the game should go play it. There are a lot of collectible memories hidden throughout the game and they fill in a lot more of the story. Still one of my favourite games. A real shame EA won't greenlight a sequel to close out the trilogy.
As of now American Mcgee is making another game that is to be a prequel! Alice: Asylum
evirobtion what would the sequel be about if you had to write the basic plot/ over arching theme be? He’s already written Alice was just after the fire and this one was after asylum stay. He’s writing one for during the asylum days already.

Brings back so many memories ... I don't even know how many hours I've spent on this game. I've played it at least 10 times, this is definitely my favorite game ever. I hope the 3rd game will be funded enough to be made, I don't want to see it cancelled. :/ Wait & see !

DISNEY'S Alice was blonde.
This is American McGee's Alice. Just how Hansel & Gretel are Grimm's, not Disney's. Same goes for The Little Mermaid (Grimm), Snow White (Grimm), & Sleeping Beauty (originally a ballet ensemble).
Little Mermaid was by written by Hans Christian Anderson though.
It's not confirmed to have been written by him, as with a lot of Grimm stories.

knuxiefan1994 As a matter of fact it was written by H.C.A. The Grimms' fairy tales never had a little mermaid story. You are however right about the Snow White and Sleeping Beuty stories.
I have three different German Grimm collections. Curiously enough, none contain The Little Mermaid. Hans Christian Andersen however wrote it for a ballerina he was crushing on who was about to marry a patron and thus had to quit dancing...

I absolutely LOVE these games and the story line :) I haven"t been this happy with a game since....well never!! I'm a huge Alice in Wonderland fan and Alice fan and I (in my opinion) think they did a fantastic job with the story and the graphics

Given the grim and sensitive direction that the story itself went, not sure if Burton is the best person for it. Child prostitution isn't really a topic I can imagine him directing a movie for lol. Maybe as a producer though.
In the movie that Burton directed, there are a few references to this game. So we at least know he has some interest in it

I love this game, but I always thought the Queen of Hearts was a replica of Lizzie from Alice's mind but now everyone is saying it is actually Alice and it makes a lot of sense. Best game ever though.
Niamh Gaffney i don´t think that Alice is also Queen of Hearts for 2 reasons:1.Caterpilar said that the Queen is somebody that Alice love, so it can´t be herself( i don´t say that Alice can´t love herself)2. at 1:24:00 Alice calls the Queen ,,My Lizzie,, so it has to be her sister

I always get bioshock vibes when playing/ watching this.
The asylum scenes were imagined. Alice was worried she might be sent back and deemed "incurable", imagining the disapponted things people might say to her as well. The scene where she wakes up in the asylum holding her rabbit was also imagined, but it symbolizes complete revalation: Alice now knows the truth about Bumby and the fire.

This is such a good game. The story is great, character design and concept are beautiful, the puzzles are aren't too easy or hard and the voice acting is brilliant. 10/10

This game is absolutely by far my favorite game. I can't count the amount of times I've played through it. Both for the gameplay and the story, this yt video I can't even tell you how many times I've watched. I watch this video for when I want the story and don't want to play through it myself. I LOVE the dark side of this game. The music is beautiful and haunting. Incredible story, very dark. I just LOVE it... I also love that throughout the game, if you pay attention to the surroundings, it shows how the next world is applicable. For example before you go to the Asian/Japanese world you go through the house of Radcliffe, he's got all kinds of decorations of Asian decent. Same with many others. Just LOVE this game

As a fan of film, cinema, fantasy, storytelling and art, I don't mind saying I really love the story of this game, even more than its predecessor, story is more compelling if darker than the first. Love the concept of the doctornot only being a giant dollmaker in Wonderland but also a true villain in the real world.
Obviously, its not your grandfather's or even your father's Alice in Wondelrand but this is awesome stuff!!!
The first time I've seen this game, I thought it was the tripest thing ever.
I suppose this is what its like to go through mental illness and you try to find the truth to help yourself but everyone wants you to forget. This reminds me of what im going through and what others like me are going through. Such a sad story.
Hang on... When she killed Dr Bumby, she was her wonderland self, instead of her real self. And when she walked out the station, she was in her Wonderland.
Does this mean she only killed him in her head, but not in reality? Is it a metaphor for her destroying all the influence he had on her? So he might still be alive in the real world?

I know this is an old comment, but just in case you hadn't heard, there actually is a series of short movies taking place after Alice: Madness Returns. There was a kickstarter for it, which reached it'd goal last year around August (proud donor, right here, lol) and it should be done by this December

RedVampire120652 if you check one of the videos of just all the dresses you can see her eyes changed based on her dress. I know that at least one of them turn her eyes blue.
I don’t think that’s Alice herself as a Queen, because Caterpillar said, that the Queen is somebody that Alice loved as a child. I don’t think.that Alice really loved herself, but if McGee really said that it’s not Lizzie, its very strange. So, is here some person that can explain to me full story? And what Alice does when she was in Wonderland in her mind?
The thing is, the doctor hypnotizes kids to forget their "tragedies" when it is actually HE who causes them... The fire was started by him, he raped Alice's sister, killed her, and then locked the door as well as Alice's (she heard her sister being raped)... He then went downstairs and set the house on fire... When Alice escaped through the window she saw the Doctor with his sister's bedroom key and knew it had been him... She went into shock because she didn't save her family and created Wonderland in her subconscious to escape from the reality of what she had seen... that happened through the time she spent in the Asylum... But since the Doctor knew she knew the truth he "offered" to treat her, and so began a hypnosis treatment to make her forget everything, he actually used the key from her sister's room to hypnotize her (reaaaaaally twisted), and make her believe she was the one who caused the fire and killed her family (and he treated her for 10 yrs so you can imagine the damage)... He f**** her mind up so much that she can't tell reality from fantasy at first, and so every time she sees something she recognizes, she passes out and goes back to Wonderland... Alice begins her journey through Wonderland (her subconscious) to find out what really happened because she can tell something is wrong... The Infernal Train is what the Doctor set in motion in her mind to wreck her memories... The Queen is herself AND her sister (my theory), her own heart... since her mind is so messed up she needs to "follow her heart" or gut instinct... When the Queen said "I wanted to control us both but you stopped it by force" or sth like that, it meant she kind of tore out her heart when she started forgetting... Every time she visits wonderland, she undoes the hypnosis and remembers bits of what happened to her family... At the end, she kills the Doctor both in her mind and in reality, because she realizes no one will believe what really happened and she wants justice for both her family and all the other kids the Doctor has been messing up... The fact that he was killed by a train symbolizes that the train he set in motion was the one that ultimately killed him... So when she changes at the end is because her subconscious and reality are finally in tune, BUT she wont be the same person, and she will have to struggle because she has been messed up for so long that Wonderland may still come up now and then and mix with reality, in order to be fully sane, she will have to continue her trip through her subconscious to finally put Wonderland back where it belongs, as a memory, and not as an escape of reality... SORRY FOR THE LONG EXPLANATION, I was just amazed at the metaphorical content of this game, it is seriously deeper than I expected... :) kuddos!!

Yea. In a way, everything for Disney has to be perfect. In this case, it was their cute little "blonde haired, blue eyes" Alice who was perfect with nothing but a sense of wonder. Nothing really touched on what the real Alice went through and suffered in her Wonderland. Alice: Madness Returns is based off the REAL one, the 2 Disney ones weren't as gruesome because they had to keep their perfect image. Disney would rather change a story and make it cute, than rather show the real meaning of it.

Well, you're right about the other parts, but the guy didn't kill the sister until after he left the room. He killed her by setting the house on fire. What he did to her in that room was actually way worse than killing her.
