- Swedish design engineer Mikael Kjellman has created the vehicle that combining concept between car and bicycle called the Poldride. Kjellman's 70-kg (154-lb) creation features four wheels for added stability, a waterproof fabric body mounted on an aluminum frame, and a seat height that offers the same visibility as that of a small car. pedalling power is a 250-watt crankshaft-mounted motor, taking the PodRide to an electronically-limited top speed of 25 km/h (15.5 mph). One charge of the onboard battery pack should be good for a motor-assisted range of about 60 km (37 miles).
This is by far the best invention "bikewise"yet!i mean its all over great!its so worth every penny if i ever buy one!

This is SO COOL! And I certainly can’t wait till we get this one here in the States! However, I only have every-bitty problem with it so far. I live in Seattle, WA where it rains a lot in the winter. Manually operated windshield wiper just won’t do. I still really want one of these and am planning on saving money aside.

Six years later, this same single prototype video is in dozens of videos but it was never produced. The actual production model is very different, the lower half is all solid plastic and the cost is over $10,000 USD for pre-orders. They finally admitted that a large segment of their market is the US, where 4 wheeled e-bikes are not legal unless they are licensed and they are still prohibited on bike paths. They plan to offer both 4 and 3 wheel versions. The EU laws for e-bike power limits are stupid, they have to be pedelec and pedelec sucks. They are limited to 350 watts power and 15 mph, not enough. Only the US version will have enough power.

@@jacquelinetarbotton2428 That's a very common reaction from innumerate people or those who have never owned a car. Cars cost us an average of at least $3000/yr, every year, for as long as we own one in the US. When you get rid of your car these car-bikes pay for themselves real fast, after which you suddenly realize you are able to save up money at a previousy unimaginable rate.
I drove my Organic Transit ELF car-bike for 7 years. I saved up enough to pay cash for a new electric autocycle by Arcimoto, while having only a modest retirement pension that some people think is a hardship and poverty level. A car-bike requires only bicycle maintenance costs to maintain. No insurance or gas, no $5000 motor or $3000 transmission that could blow up. In my lifetime I had two older cars that broke their timing belts and they went straight to the scrap yard. You stand corrected.

They have to be made of light materials like expensive aluminum alloy or carbon fiber because every ounce counts when you are pedaling. This is why it is taking so many years to design a new model. It is more than a match for other vehicles in this weight class. Far safer than any bicycle. Personal cars that weigh tons are killing our biome. This is what the future looks like, like it or not.
