Well another fantastic kiwi adventure with you and Jase. Very proud of you Cuz, working hard to have wonderful expedition trips like this and being able to showcase NZ in such a pure way. There are some really special places in NZ that many never get to see. Youre taking us on a journey with you. Love it! Cant wait for the 2024 trip now.

Great video. Exploring the back roads of south island of New Zealand on an adventure bike (or in the Jimny) would be my ideal holiday. I’ve done some of the main routes in a camper van and the sand flies on the West Coast were a horrible experience.
You’ve really managed to capture the experience and share it in this video. The insta360 worked pretty well.

Ha ha thank you! I had way too much stuff behind the rear axel. The Topbox didn't quite work out as well as I expected. Fine for work commutes. The video didn't give justice to how steep that climb was.

@youtuberAstar thank you. When I was on this trip I lived in Taupo in the Central North Island. While on the trip I decided I wanted to move to Southland and a few months later I did lol. I think my mates wife enjoys the break lol.
Did you catch any fish?
I hooked one up, but didn't land it. I use barbless single hooks to catch and release most fish without damaging them, but makes it tricky to land them.
Where did you get fuel up there on those mountains?
We carried spare fuel just in case, but we carried enough in our tanks to last between fills. We planned and calculated our approximate fuel consumption.
Look like a lot of weight on those wee bikes.
Not as bad as it looks. We've cut down a lot of weight carrying minimal gear and essentials. Just looks bulky.
How did the himmy behave on that class trip. ??any issues.

Ha ha, almost! Had the time of our lives though. Worth it 👍😁
