Thanks Runa. I'm Kiwi, nearly 80, a former motorcyclist, lying in bed having my first dance with Covid, and you have cheered me up with your joy in places I know and love. A couple of examples - the bridge you crossed north of Springs Junction is where I got an excited phone call from a friend of my son's telling me he and his wife were going to have their first child! She is now finishing her law degree. Okiwi Bay is where I caught my biggest rock lobsters on scuba. Durville Island opposite you in French Pass - I used to know a Māori nurse who lived there told me the lobsters used to climb out of the water onto rocks and they could be caught by nets. The road you were on at Momorangi Bay used to be called the Grove Track, and my best friend and I pushbiked across it when it was shingle en route from Picton to Kaiteriteri - we were 16 and out of contact with family for 3 weeks. You have graced Aotearoa New Zealand with your presence Runa. Thank you.
… fellow Kiwi, couldn’t have put it better. She honoured the place. A true traveler, not a tourist or just an influencer. I’ll go ride roads I learned about from your vids. What a legacy!
Wow.. This made me a bit sentimental reading. It is so crazy to think about how many memories places hold. Thank you so much for sharing this! Sounds like you have done many exciting things, and have collected many good memories! I hope you have a great December so far, and thank you so much for following along on my little adventure 🥰
Sharing my trips with you guys is more rewarding that I can ever express - what a fantastic community this is, so much kindness. Thank you so much for following along!
Thanks Runa, for that beautiful, stunning ride. For a while there, it looked like the countryside was covered with felt. This is what motorcycling is for... to soak in the beauty of our planet. I, too, can never pick between the mountains or the waterfront, though I can only take so much of riding through forests, I need to be able to see the horizon. And as always, I'm impressed how out of millions of tracks you pick the nicest music to go with your travels. Cheers.
There are many pluses of motorcycling in NZ, certainly in South Island, little traffic, beautiful landscapes, and no nasty wildlife to contend with. Sheer bliss, and your presentation is SO relaxing. I cannot think of a single negative. I shall miss your content, Runa.
New Zealand really is the perfect motorcycle country in so many ways, I absolutely loved my time there! Glad you enjoy my content, I sure enjoy the travels and to be able to share it with you guys! 😊 I have more content in store after this series is done - I hope you will like that too 😃
Always a pleasure to watch your videos Runa. I drift off into a fantasy world listening to your calming voice and the unimaginable scenery. It is like a form of meditation. Thank You 😊
That is very kind of you! Thank you 😊 I guess that is sort of how I feel while I ride and experience these areas too, and I try my best to elt the videos reflect the feelings I had while being there!
Your mum is a legend with those gloves Runa ❤ and you were very wise to leave campsite later...NZ has lots of black ice issues when frozen like that (sunny road then corner in shade, and still icy 😲)
They sure are nice gloves 🥰 They come along on pretty much all my trips. Black ice is nasty stuff! Better safe than sorry - I'm rarely in any rush anyway!
I do too! Perfect to bring along on my trips 😃 It's been a pleasure sharing this adventure, and I am already looking forward to bring you guys along on the next. Thank you! 😊
Noooo only 3 days left of your mindfulness videos. I love the personality and emotion that comes through on your content, gets better and better. I wonder where next?
It sure is sad that it's coming to and end - but that also means the next one can begin! 😃 I can't wait to share with you the next season starting right after this one!
That campsite was full of Bob and Marge. At least if they are there, they aren't blocking up the passes 😀 Sending love 💜 Old-fashioned UK taps - no mixer. My bathroom handwash bowl is still like that. Pain, relief, pain, reief.
Hahaha, pain - relief 😂 Indeed! A few have pointed out I could have just used the plug laying right in front of my face though, I didn't even notice it!
@OffSheGoesADV I hope travelling Australia is part of your plans in the future. We have some really great ADV festivals here, it would be amazing to have you come along and share your experiences.
As always you videos are true to your name showing us the “secret” beauty of this planet. Ps to get Luke warm water … plug the sink and run both hot and cold water into it 👍😂 stay awesome my friend 🙌
Hi Runa your Moms gloves are awesome I bet she is with you every kilometer of your Journey's what an epic place this is French Pass and the saddle road I have seen so mnay places like that over the years in various Rally Cars and Bikes and 4WD's, Unfortunately back them we did not have the options to record stuff we saw as easily as now.
I do feel very fortunate that I have the option to capture my travels on video, I hope to be able to look back at it one day! And I do love my gloves 🥰 Have a great monday over there, hope december is treating you well so far!
Beautiful, beautiful and just beautiful Ma'am Runa.. the sceneries, the weather, the emotions you shared are just beyond surreal.. I was getting a bit worried for your rubber ducky in the freezing temperatures but good thing you did a check on it 😂.. indeed, a month just wheezed past especially when you're having a great time..Until your next update, ride safe and as always, thank you so much for your so inspirational videos.. makes one want to drop everything and just ride their dreams..
Hahah, Andy the rubber duck held up so well and still is! 🐥🥰 And thank you so very much for your kind words, you guys really are the best, you're the cherry on top of an already amazing experience!
I will miss seeing New Zealand through your eyes when this is over, but i will always have the option to rewatch. Won't be the slightest bit surprised if you go back someday.
Yes the coffees are awesome the roads are great living the lifestyle A lot of hidden gems around New Zealand freedom camping sites i’ve chased the sunrise to sunset in one day 🤘🏾
Crystal clear video, carving through the bends, perfect background music, glorious scenery, cute wildlife, your charming, calm & sometimes funny commentary, interesting stops along the whole NZ adventure, bravely conquering some scary roads alone, some sparking meetups with fellow riders and always your smiling eyes. To see you enjoy the very same places and views that I have seen several times has made my heart sing and made me more determined to move to NZ in the near future. Exploring NZ again through your eyes has been such a pleasure for me Runa. Thanks so much for sharing your journey and for all your hard work and long hours creating these videos. Cheers from Australia. 🤩🤩😍🦘🦘🦘
You guys are making me emotional! Gosh 🥲 Sharing this trip, the experiences, places and everything that comes with it, with so many amazing people online is more rewarding than I can ever express. Thank you!!
Wow, your mom made those gloves!? She's good! Beautiful scenery. What's the deal with that icy weather? It's summer where you are. You must be up really high in those mountains. Safe travels always.
Amazing scenery, epic ride with comforting and engaging commentary, I enjoy these videos so much even when I don't feel like enjoying things much, just so relatable and genuine, thank you and let me know if you ever come to the USA for a ride!
Thank you so much for the kind comment - you guys makes it such a joy to share these travels and experiences. I really appreciate it! I hope you have a good day over there!
I'm glad I decided to bring them! 🥶 And well, everyone else seemed to notice that there was a plug for the sink laying RIGHT in front of me that I could have used to fill the sink 😂
I live in Nelson & its great to see you riding our local roads. We did Maruia last weekend on our way home from doing the Rainbow, I'm pretty spoilt for rides around here.
Another great video. 8:40 Too long since I've been to Okiwi Bay. Paddled 11.5 km out and around the headland to the right of the gap, did some fishing, then paddled back. Should have taken some food, drink and sunglasses. 😆
Thank you for sharing your trip ! You brought back memories from my two sea kayaking holidays in the sounds between Waikawa and the French Sound. Both times in December and January during the summer. It is a fantastic area.
Oh wow I bet that must have been nice seeing the landscape from a kayak! It's fascinating how much the perspective of the landscape changes when you see it from a different side!
Yeah, I woulda been in a cabin or something that first night lol...the weather got really nice for you, the views along the roads were great! next time take a wash cloth, get it hot then add a little cold water, boom, luke warm to wash your face lol
Haha a cabin would have been comfy indeed - my gear was not suitable for those temperatures. A wash cloth is a good idea, luckily a problem I didn't run into a lot 😂
Thanks again for showing the world some of our little piece of PARADISE.. There are fantastic backroads in the North Island, with phenominal scenery - similar but yet not compared to Sth Island. Loved watching you!! ++ GH👍👍👍
@@OffSheGoesADV Agreed... I have done over 150,000km touring asphalt, bitumen and lots of gravel on my 1980's BM K100 's. There's just so much to do! Glad you could enjoy it too!
Another awesome video you have done a incredible job filming your adventure what a trip ride safe as always just put my 2 bikes up for the winter season has snowed a few times sad sad time of year
It's a sad time of the year indeed, it literally gets dark here at 4pm and it just keeps raining.. I'm glad I can work on this episodes and relive the trip and warmer days 😃 So nice to able to share it with you guys as well, thank you fro always watching!
Great episode Runa. So glad you didn't miss the French Pass. Honestly, even as a local of that area, I love the views and roads out there. I have an episode going out there one day too and use pretty much the same view where you parked your bike on the way down as the thumbnail. It is just stunning. Great route up from Springs Junction to Murchison too. Thanks for bringing us along.
Thank you, Glenn! I totally understand why it's a loved road, also by locals! I mean, what's not to like about it, it was both stunning and a fun ride on the small roads going out there! Thank you for coming along, and I hope you have a good beginng of December! I envy how summer is upon you guys now!
Hi Runa, I did enjoy your video! But then again I always do, cute little bird 🐦 to greet you in the morning, but no hot drink and on a frosty morning 😢, I hope you let the frost melt of your seat before leaving or numb bum (not nice) ,I bet that hot drink and food went down a treat, more beautiful views and from frost to warm sunshine. Hope you're well, and have had a good weekend. Best wishes from Roy in England 😊.
Hi, Roy! So nice to read your comment like always too! 😊 Luckily the temperature rose rapidly, and the frost was all melted before departure ❄️ It sure was a cold morning, but it's nice in it's own way too! Have a great week Roy, hope December is treating you well so far 😃
Hahah yes! This was the day I descided I needed to change to a layering system in my gear so i could adjust more easily the the changing temperatures 😂 Have a great day over there!
Spot on! The contrast and variety of New Zealand was one of my favoruite things 😍 And yup - the 3 did a great job this trip! It's still a good camera 😊
Of course we stick around Runa, without you and various other overseas channels my Sundays would be less fruitful but then you imagine that, when you make up these videos .
I really appreciate that. It's so crazy to think that just a couple years ago I was the one watching other travelers videos (I still do btw), and here I am now making them myself a well!
14:08 Oh no, a weka! In almost all of my camps the wekas tried to steal my food. They are very clever and not afraid of humans. They will turn over a hot pot on a stove or steal plastic bags. They walk calmly as this one and then suddenly run for the pot or the bag.
It looked a little cold in the morning, worst morning to be out of gas for te or coffee. Good that it warmed up later on and even became a little too warm. That water tap in the sink looked really annoying. I was out for that type of sink at a hostel in London. It was even worse I think because that was that type off tap that you had to push on and as soon as ju let of the button the water stoped, and there was no plug in the bottom of the sink. So I could only wash one hand at the time and had to choose between warm or cold water. On top of that the toilet flushed really bad so I had to flush two or three times and it took about five minutes to fill the reservoir between the flushing 🤔 The bed was so uncomfortable so I took the mattress and laid it and slept on the floor. 😂 But I slept really well on the floor and it all became a great “adventure” to remember 😊
It was soooo cold, my hands literally hurting 🥶 felt SO good when the sun finally started giving off some warmth! And that sounds like a.... time consuming and challenging hostel you stayed at! 😂 Hahaha. Its fun to look back at though!
@ You were lucky to have those nice mittens that your mother made for you. I remember them from before, I believe it is Loke on them if I remember correctly. 🤩
You have this Garmin Inreach, don't you? I know people who would have used that on the emergency of having no gas for brewing coffee 😅 Enjoyed the entire series, and looking forward for more. 🙂
Hahaha, I'm not the slightest bit surprised 😂 Having worked as a nurse in the urgent care facility, having people calling and ambulance for literally paper cuts. It is a nice safety to have while traveling though, just in case!
Hi Runa, Creaming Soda soft drink was always part of my younger years in Australia along with "Sars" (Sarsaparilla) and "Solo" lemon Soda and Schweppes Lemonade and some Pepsi and Coke Sodas. Did you put the plug in the basin to mix the cold and hot water and scoop it up ?? 😆 😄😄 🦘🦘
Hahahah I can't believe how many noticed the plug for the sink just from a few second clip in my video, and I didn't notice it at all while being right in front of it!! 😂
Lewis Pass road is a better ride than Arthur's pass road . Runa you have inspired me to come and visit Norway and do a bike trip . Can you recommend any company I could rent a bike off in Norway ? Also what is the best app to learn Norwegian from ? Kia Kaha Bruce
Hi, Bruce! That is so cool, I'm sure you will love Norway as much as I do 😃 Hopefully the weather behaves on your time here! I can recommend renting a motorcycle from either MB Racing in Stavanger, or MC Touring Norway near Sandefjord. Great people and they have different brands tho chose from. To learn any language I have heard the Duolingo app is supposed to be good. But you will not have a problem just communicating in english here 😊 Let me know if there is anything else I can help out with!
When I was there, the gravel was very nice! Compressed, and very few lose parts and if there were any, they were easy to avoid. I think you would be absolutely fine doing it on a sports bike, taking it easy 😊
@ no, it would have been too expensive to ship my own bike unfortunately. Ive actually had 3 different Norden’s now 😳 1st one in 2023 I did 15 000km on, and I had a problem with the ABS for a couple weeks but it turned out it was just a nut holding the grounding wire that was loose. Other than that nothing. The bike in NZ I did 6000 problem free kilometers with, and the bike I have had this year I have done just over 15 000km with too, and no problem with it either. Ocationally I would get a warning saying something by about the immobilized but it turned out it was just the side stand sensor beeing very dirty 😂 and now I will have anooother new Norden for next year! This time the new Norden Expedition, so that will be exciting 😃 this is all through the collab I have with Husqvarna Scandinavia. I ride the bike for a year, then the local husqvarna shop sells it like a normal second hand bike 😊
@ Glad to hear all has been good. I have had my expedition for several weeks now and I love it but was concerned about all the reliability issues in the press. Thank you so much for getting back to me, your videos are always filled with amazing scenery and information about where you are travelling! Ride safe 🤘

I have a feeling we could travel New Zealand for months and months and still discover new incredible places! I definitely have to go back one day!
@OffSheGoesADV Yeah we are into some good riding weather again, 🙌
Creaming soda and ice cream yum 😋 .
Perfect combo 😃
Everything is frozen 😮❤
It was suuuch a cold morning 🥶
Crazy range of temperatures😂Another spectacular video Runa, NZ is just incredible👌
Hahah yes! This was the day I descided I needed to change to a layering system in my gear so i could adjust more easily the the changing temperatures 😂 Have a great day over there!
Cold - hot, fjord - mountain. Such a land of contrasts! Like Norway but different. Nice filming - and with dji action 3... 👌👍😊
Spot on! The contrast and variety of New Zealand was one of my favoruite things 😍 And yup - the 3 did a great job this trip! It's still a good camera 😊
Nice to run in with a celebrity 😂

Those mittens your mum made are SO cool!!
.. I want some!! (I wonder if MY mum can knit me some? 😊)
Haha yes! I love them 🥰 Perhaps you should ask for a pair in christmas gift from your mum 😃
Of course we stick around Runa, without you and various other overseas channels my Sundays would be less fruitful but then you imagine that, when you make up these videos .
I really appreciate that. It's so crazy to think that just a couple years ago I was the one watching other travelers videos (I still do btw), and here I am now making them myself a well!
thanks for your video. GBU
Thank you for following along!
Muito MUITO TOP DEMAIS 👌👌
😃
14:08 Oh no, a weka! In almost all of my camps the wekas tried to steal my food. They are very clever and not afraid of humans. They will turn over a hot pot on a stove or steal plastic bags. They walk calmly as this one and then suddenly run for the pot or the bag.
Hahah what strange creatures! 😂 I have heard they are quite the thieves but luckily did not experience it first hand!
Very nice and quiet area, the area seems empty of people 😅
The south island was just amazing, so many great places with so little people - you gotta love it! 😂
Coola vantar, mor din får+++++❤❤❤
Enig! De er så flotte, og så gode å ha med på tur 😍
@OffSheGoesADV ♥️👍
On top of that the toilet flushed really bad so I had to flush two or three times and it took about five minutes to fill the reservoir between the flushing 🤔
The bed was so uncomfortable so I took the mattress and laid it and slept on the floor. 😂
But I slept really well on the floor and it all became a great “adventure” to remember 😊
love everything what you do. come to Assam India 🇮🇳. We try keeping up with you.
Thank you so much! 😊 I hope to see India some day!
Runa❤❤
🥰
❤❤❤
🥰
You have this Garmin Inreach, don't you?
I know people who would have used that on the emergency of having no gas for brewing coffee 😅
Enjoyed the entire series, and looking forward for more. 🙂
Hahaha, I'm not the slightest bit surprised 😂 Having worked as a nurse in the urgent care facility, having people calling and ambulance for literally paper cuts. It is a nice safety to have while traveling though, just in case!
Creaming soda, another name for beer.😉 Maori language.
It's been a good day.
Ooh! I like it haha! It was a great day indeed
🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
😍
As a Scandinavian/Nordic lover, I miss your videos in Norway! Nothing beats Norwegian roads and surrounding nature 🇳🇴
There will be more from Norway, promise! 😊
@ ☺️🥳🥳🥳
Lewis Pass road is a better ride than Arthur's pass road . Runa you have inspired me to come and visit Norway and do a bike trip . Can you recommend any company I could rent a bike off in Norway ? Also what is the best app to learn Norwegian from ?
Kia Kaha
Bruce
WOW ..👏👏💐.
Such a stunning country 😃
Whats your oppinion on doing french pass with a sports bike? Is the gravel shallow/doable on sports bike?
When I was there, the gravel was very nice! Compressed, and very few lose parts and if there were any, they were easy to avoid. I think you would be absolutely fine doing it on a sports bike, taking it easy 😊
❤❤❤lovely❤❤❤❤❤
🥰
You wash your face with cold water is what you do 😂
Hahahah that is what I ended up doing! 😂
🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
😍
How Lucky With The Channel That Has Been In My 2 Channel And I Have Became Many Girls Motorcycle Bikes UA-cam Channel
Nice trip and looking lovely lady ❤️
It was a wonderful day! Thank you for following along!
How many kilometres/ miles have you done on your bike ?
This bike I borrowed from Husqvarna New Zealand, I did about 6000km all together in New Zealand 😊
@ I thought the bike was your trusted bike that you always use. Just wondered if you have had any reliability issues?
Ride safe 🤘
