I love the Hero 10, but I ordered the Action 3, much more compelling for my use. I mostly use action cams in the ocean, when I go spearfishing. Max depth of my spots is 10m, average of 6-8m. The Hero 10 never had a problem without the dive case (the case makes the image softer). The Action 3, with a deeper rating, gives me more confidence, I can take it to the occasional 15m deep reef without a case. Also, the 2-hour battery life is a nice upgrade. Anyway, even if I have spare batteries, I can not change them when the camera is in the ocean or not rinsed and dried. The DJI Osmo Action 3 has a better price. I prefer the GoPro flat colors, but in the end, the DJI has usability improvements. Now I use the Action 2 mounted on my speargun, as it is very light. But battery life is not great, and the field of view is very wide and shows distortion at the edges. But with any of these cameras, you can get great footage. I actually I like the still photos I get from the Hero 10, raw files that I can edit in Adobe Lightroom. Hero 10 also improved the write speed of the burst mode still photos. I pre-ordered the Action 3 but will skip the Hero 11.

My GoPro10 would overheat 10mins into a POV drive in 4k/60 and it always bummed me out haha Did a poll in my community section and 82% of people said they watch UA-cam in 1080p, or the auto-resolution their phone sets based on connectivity (720p-1080p). MOST videos you must choose to watch in 4k to view it in 4k. What i'm looking forward too is the night vision, and if it's improved at all! Great video DC!

Thank you so much!!! 🙏That's the review i needed to decide if it's worth upgrading from my GoPro 10. I see no dropbox link yet, hope you add it soon. Really curious to see what a difference the 10-bit color makes. That would be my main reason to get the GoPro 11.

I'm so stoked for the Mini, The 9/10 is noticeably heaver on a helmet to the point that I still use my 8 for FPV helmet cam shots. the Mini is exactly what I have wanted since the Hero 9
I was rather let down by the Go Pro 10 due to its overheating. I used the go pro to record in an aeroplane cockpit with an over the shoulder view. (You can see an example of the set up on my channel, look for this video “Unexpected Mig-15 encounter in the UK” I used a GoPro media mod to get the audio from the in aeroplane communications onto the GoPro recordings using the 3.5mm jack. I removed the internal battery and powered it with an external power bank. The settings I used were 4k 30fps with the 2nd lowest setting for stabilisation. The Go Pro would still overheat around 40-45 minutes after it started recording. I’m now looking to 3d print a fan mount for the GoPro. The Go Pro 10 can record some amazing footage but oh boy has it been not reliable.

I am a UA-camr and a long time user of both GoPro and Osmo. Thanks for the informative video! I have an 8 and was happy to upgrade to the 11. I was sold on the car lights and star trail features, something I was reluctant to get into with DSLR cameras.
first off dude, another awesome video. Thank you! Also, in your opinion, do you think those night video modes will be on the GoPro 10 in an update eventually? Those features I am liking a lot. I currently have the 8 and 10. I would do a trade in for the 11 and pay the difference for the 11 and keep the 10 but it seems that is gone from the site :/ I do have a subscription and it is DEFINITELY worth having btw!
I really wanted to upgrade from 7 black. Will upgrade when there is a real upgrade. This is great but I still use go pro 7 black and get all the accessories super cheap.
Amazing video, thanks so much. I've got the Hero 9 and I think a few of these features are worth upgrading for (I was thinking of buying the max lens mode for the 9, but if it has the horizon lock built-in on the 11 that's a great benefit!)
I just learned that the Hero 9 can turn on the max lens setting without the lens, and turn on horizon lock. I just tried it and it works. The 11 might do it better. If I had both I would compare.
I'll give it a go, I didn't know that. I saw there was horizon lock on the linear mode, but it only works to a 45-degree turn of the camera; you can't turn the camera completely upside down and have it locked. Have you found a way to do that?
@@ChrisBranch Yes I spun my camera in a full circle and the image stayed locked with the horizon. You need a lot of light to make it look good, but all things considering it seems to be a good shot. Just turn on the max lens setting even though you don't have it on, then the lock horizon option is available in the recording settings.
This was SUPER helpful! I’ve been researching which GoPro to purchase and this just helped me pin my choice down. I had already decided that the DJI was not the right choice for me. Thank you!!!
With your fast talking you get more in one video than some vloggers get in three! Honestly though, great. informative video on a brand new product. I have the GoPro 6...yes, only the 6. So, I am clearly thinking of upgrading and I do edit so the 10-bit color space is amazing!
Best video on goPro 11! Thank you! Some very small critic: sometimes I find it difficult to know how you got into a menu, like the night trails for video mode, until I got to it in the time-lapse. Keep dup the amazing work 🤟
Can you make a video showing the interior of a home moving from room to room? I am into real estate video blogs, and the lighting is always an issue with my Gopro 9. 😀Great Video
This is what I'd really like to know too - does the bigger sensor give better performance under indoor lighting, something I'm not too happy with on my 9 as well
I am impressed with how well the stars show up in an urban environment with all of the light pollution. Good job. Gonna try that with my Hero 10. Wish me luck.
Great review as always! Curious to see your thoughts on the microphone and clarity of sound versus the 10. I have the microphone mod set up on my 10 now and I find it to be muffled when facing outward. When vlogging and doing resort and room tours, I tend to shoot with the microphone and camera facing the view versus myself and I’d love to hear your feedback on that. GoPro says the 11 has “Enhanced Audio Capture” but that doesn’t tell me if there’s an upgrade there or not.
You should teach a master class on presenting information. You have the best style of anyone on Utube. . The facts and nothing but the facts , as Jack Webb use to say on dragnet. You speak my speed.
Nice review Ray! For the change of aspect ratios in post productions, I've been seeing Insta360 doing it for a while though, isn't something entirely new - Same as Horizon Lock. As someone who owns both Hero 10 and Insta360 X2, it's not really convincing to upgrade though.
I’ve got a hero 4 silver and this is the first GoPro released since I bought mine that I’m actually really excited for. Probably gonna pick one up as soon as I can.
Looks like I will have to embrace the GoPro11 after my 5 year old GoPro 6 was defeated by the gentle waters of Panglao Island, Philippines. RIP to that GP6. Thank you for this video.
Been a sub for a few years now. Thanks for this great review. Have the 9 and with the media mod, it likes to overheat. I think the 11 will be more forgiving. Look forward to your next GoPro 11 videos. THANKS!!
any update on the full deep dive will be out.. just picked one up and looking to figure out all the settings and features, thanks for all your reviews and videos!
This was awesome. I was debating waiting for the 10 getting discounted with the 11 out, but now I’m thinking the 11 might be worth it. Never had one so I wouldn’t be upgrading.
Just ordered the 11 with the subscription. I had borrowed one from my friends before, it was 6 years ago, Hero 4 I believe, had a good impression, always wanted one for my own. Now I have some time to biking so I am ready to get one. It should last around 5 years or so.
I literally just sit here and watched the 8,9,10 and now 11 of your videos..great videos..I'm a photographer I just want one to mount on my camera while I'm shooting lol

I would love to talk to you more about what we do so you can possibly help us use the Gopro to the best of it's ability, thanks

I've just bought a hero 11. Never owned one before.
Your instructions on video are useful for us oldies.
Greetings from New Zealand 🍻
@UCfnYwvYzcil7qaQXjHVwoLg That’s very good of you.
Superb rundown, so thorough, appreciate it very much, great job and presentation!
Cool, thanks ☺️🙏
This was SUPER helpful! I’ve been researching which GoPro to purchase and this just helped me pin my choice down. I had already decided that the DJI was not the right choice for me. Thank you!!!
With your fast talking you get more in one video than some vloggers get in three! Honestly though, great. informative video on a brand new product. I have the GoPro 6...yes, only the 6. So, I am clearly thinking of upgrading and I do edit so the 10-bit color space is amazing!
Love how you warn us not to get confused about hyper lapse and then you get confused straight away :D
Haha...yeah, no kidding! Trying to keep all the things straight hiking on the side of a mountain with 2 hours of sleep is tricky!
@@Dcrainmaker Nice video once more! Will wait for the mini one to get some decisions made !
Thanks for the review, I have been mega impressed with the GoPro 10 last year
Always the first place to look for new GoPro products information
Best video on goPro 11! Thank you! Some very small critic: sometimes I find it difficult to know how you got into a menu, like the night trails for video mode, until I got to it in the time-lapse. Keep dup the amazing work 🤟
What a brilliant video. Great information and presented in a nice concise way. Thank you :).
So can we use one camera mounted normally for portrait and landscape ie youtube and Instagram?????
Another great video bud. I'd like to see the difference between Hyperview and SUperview with the Max Mod Lens.
Yup - that's a good idea to dive into!
Well done. Great report for a newbe. Covered everything I needed.
THANKS!!
Cant wait for your comparison b/w the 11 and the osmo action 3!
wow, I've only seen the online posts, never knew there was a youtube channel! thanks for all the great reviews!!!!
SUCH! A useful video! Learnt some things that no one else has said or written about the 11.
I look forward to watching the indepth and 11 vs OA3!
Today i watched a lot of videos but really...i was waiting only your review 😁
Hit that like button!!** He did a great job with so much information to give us!
any update on the full deep dive will be out.. just picked one up and looking to figure out all the settings and features, thanks for all your reviews and videos!
Excellent video, thanks! I just bought mine 2 days ago so I'm learning it now.
It should last around 5 years or so.
you referred to your Hero 11 tutorial a few times... but- I can't find it. Just picked one up. Wow- the stabilization and horizon lock is phenomenal!
hey mate lovely review. Can we please have the link to the files? would love to analyse the 10bit footage!
VERY eager to see if the 11 Mini is the Session successor we've all been waiting for - great vid, as always!
Great video. Answered a lot of the questions I had. Thanks
You honestly give such great insight! Thank you
Thanx for this vid. Alot of help
I literally just sit here and watched the 8,9,10 and now 11 of your videos..great videos..I'm a photographer I just want one to mount on my camera while I'm shooting lol
On topic : Thank you for the feature review and updates over hero 10. With each new release, I really appreciate all the info and examples.
Tangentially related : as a triathlete, I really like that shirt.
Great video. Has there been any significant improvement in "low light" performance? Thank you.
None that I can see. Perhaps a bit more 'recoverability' with 10-bit enabled, but it really isn't going to save the situation a ton.
I can always count on your reviews. Thanks for your thoughts !!
Nice! Still stuck with gopro5 over here, so all these features sound amazing :D Thanks for the vid!
Thank you I love the reviews straight to it
Hello, We use the Gopro 10 and 11 for 360 photo booths. I would love for you to test this camera out for the best usage . We've been having issues with overheating, and Hypersmooth. I would love to talk to you more about what we do so you can possibly help us use the Gopro to the best of it's ability, thanks
Loved it! But comparing 16:9 to 8:7 is kinda false because you can do 4:3 in 5.3k on the 10. Still more pixels but not that crazy before/after comparison. Moving closer to a perfect square sensor for social
can you tell me how to setting still camera 16:9
What is the best gopro type camera for skiing in cold temperatures. Like -20C/-4F. Or more cold wheathers
Did you make the Beginner's Guide for the Hero 11? I can't seem to find it.
Same
0:09 a wild Desfit appears!
What aspect ratio should I keep it on if I wanna film stuff for UA-cam shorts and TikTok?
Man, i was thinking about upgrading from my 7 to a 10 (Hobbyist).... glad i waited
