Somebody already had salvaged the shutters. The windows are worthless, given their age. (Single-pane glass + storm windows added later) The house itself doesn't appear to be well-insulated, either, making it energy-inefficient by today's standards, especially where it was located (Chicago northern suburbs, by the lake, sort of where "Risky Business" and "Home Alone" would have been set.) The house was demolished to enlarge a plot of land where a McMansion was built.
Wow that was a sturdy old house they sure don't build them like that anymore new construction would just fold up like a cardboard box under the power of an excavator
I see I share the same sentiments about this beautiful, well-built home getting destroyed. It was no doubt standing in the way of some large project (that didn't include cool, big houses).
I actually daily drive my cat 390 in a demolition Job (hs2 in the uk) and trust me the least you want is 10 tonnes of brickwork and wood falling onto your £800,000 excavator
Wonder why they tore down this house looks like it was built back in the 1700s. At least they should have saved the windows and doors. It was a beautiful place and sure it holds a lot of fond memories.
reminds me of an old tone church our town had, someone said it had issues or what ever, cant remember the details, but i watch part of the demolition, they used a wrecking ball and it did not want to come down. not sure who's brilliant idea that was, they took that down and replaced it with a new one story prefab building, they could have left it and but the new one beside it.
In Winetkan probably a new fancy house. May be the richest town in Illinois. Would be nice if their was a little narration. Are they trying to keep the trash in the basement? .
why are these lovely houses being destroyed they are gorgeous seems like such a terrible waste does the author of the page know the answer is a real tragedy to destroy something so gorgeous
armature action at it's finest, too small of an excavator, no thumb to grab material with, operator has no clue how to take down a building, and what's slick gonna do with that garden hose? water the roses'
I really like these kinds of videos but with out explanation or voice over or some kind of narration it is very boring. Look at Letsdig 18 and do more like he does. Not subscribing today.
Too many ignorant comments here about how beautiful the house is, there's no reason to tear it down, it's wasteful, save windows and doors. and on and on and on. All from people who have never had anything to do with actual construction, demolition, or salvage, and not even a vague shadow of knowledge about this particular property. You should be ashamed.
Not adding salt to a wound, but this house was demolished to increase the size of the lot at no. 12 Indian Hill Road, so that a house twice the size could be built there. The land is more valuable than the house was. This is a very wealthy neighborhood, and these properties adjoin a country club and golf course.
It's a pity about this beautiful house. 😭😭😭
It is sad to see the beautiful house go :(
In all honesty, the house was haunted, possessed of Satan, it had to be destroyed!
Developer probably will build 4 in its place.
and very well built :(
Something this stupid is just hard to watch
Super sad to see this old stately home with so much history destroyed.
That was a well built house. Didn't see any reason to tear it down. ugh.
That's a crime. Why destroy such a lovely old home? At least save the windows. What a wasteful society we live in today.
I couldn't agree more
Not cost effective. Cheap vinyl windows. St.Paul,Minnesota.

No one likes older buildings anymore. It has to be replaced by newer, modern ugly boxes full of windows.

This video should be titled "how to carefully tear down a house".
That's ashame. Beautiful old house with so much character!
I wonder how many times the operator checks to make sure it's the right house.
Ese operador lo que es un mmg🙄
LMFAO 😂😂 Whoops! Sorry. That'll buff out.
Wow that was a sturdy old house they sure don't build them like that anymore new construction would just fold up like a cardboard box under the power of an excavator
Shame looked like a nice house.
Wish posters of these videos would include an explanation of why homes are being torn down, especially perfectly decent looking ones ....
Beautiful house!
I see I share the same sentiments about this beautiful, well-built home getting destroyed. It was no doubt standing in the way of some large project (that didn't include cool, big houses).
Too nice of a house to tear down
Homes in Illinois look so classic and pretty
First time on an excavator? That was painful to watch.
I actually daily drive my cat 390 in a demolition Job (hs2 in the uk) and trust me the least you want is 10 tonnes of brickwork and wood falling onto your £800,000 excavator
Ok nevermind maybe £100,000 excavator
Another covid-19 house, cant get insurance, cant rent it, cant sell contamination?? Right?? Deadly stuff
Maybe he’s trying to keep all the debris in the footprint of the house.
Don't be a asshole
Does he work for the city moving at the speed of smell
No look at the description
@destructionnation704 you need a guy to run that trachoe. He slow and don't know how to do demolition
It's like watching paint dry. He obviously doesn't know how to tear a structure down.
🎶 I came in like a wrecking ball, I never hit so hard in love,
All I wanted was to break your walls. All you ever did was wreck me 🎵
I've only watched parts of this so far, but I will be watching the rest. Thanks for sharing!
your welcome, glad it was worth many troubles it made
Wonder if the Salvage Dawgs would have gotten anything out of that place?
Wonder why they tore down this house looks like it was built back in the 1700s. At least they should have saved the windows and doors. It was a beautiful place and sure it holds a lot of fond memories.
Operator here… not sure why the top middle was the starting point. I was trained completely different than this
From one end to the other @joepass1883?
Is this the first this guy ever did any did a house demo? Why is it taking so long?
I think he's been with this company for a while now. I'll agree it was definitely a slow start
This is a well built home....what a shame.
Who ever taught this operator how to demo ..should go home .. the best procedure for this type is ,start at the end and work toward the center
Where was this?
3 story house, that would be a dream to renovate lol
Dude that house what big and amazing and it had to been reared down 😢
A piddling little hose. In New Zealand that house would be protected
Is this a ten part video? Must be at that speed. Dude must be on overtime 😂
I think I see why they're tearing it down...did you see that green paint on the walls upstairs? Whoa!! Can't unsee that!!
I’m waiting for Kevin to come running out that door
He must be getting paid by the hour. Seen lots of demons but this one put me to sleep.
This was the slowest demolition ever
I would disagree, but say what you want
Es que se paga por horas la máquina 😂
@@destructionnation704hombre lento hombre muerto🙄
Tons of salvageable material.

Gorgeous home
That’s a nice house
She's a tough old bird...nice looking one too. Such a shame...

@@davidj.mackinney6568 yeah that's generally how it's done
You need a thumb on that machine. You could have that down in half the time. It almost looks like you are afraid to demolish too much at a time.
Wow why would you demo that beautiful house. I can tell it is built sturdy
Why was this house demolished?
Site restoration, turned back to empty lot as part of house next door
@@destructionnation704 Oh okay. I was kind of thinking it was something a long those lines.
@@Sunburn2007 there's more detail to the story, I'll tell the whole thing if I feel up to it
I can’t enjoy the demolition of such beautiful house.. It’s so wasteful.
That 3rd floor looked like it had multiple rooms. Not necessarily an attic.
What is the operator afraid of, it's a demolition
the house made of wood the operator way to slow he could just push the walls inward
Inexperienced operator
Guys there’s always a reason for tearing down a house, based on the moss covered shingles I’m assuming it was in poor structural shape.

I agree. We tear down great history instead of restoring it. Shameful!!!
Have a Beer 🍻
So sad to put down such a pretty home.
Where's the dude with the water?
Why would you destroy such a beautiful home? This is so sad. Even my four year old grandson. Thought it was so sad.
@@AndressChilds we are legally obligated to complete a contract even if we are morally against it.
Operator must be paid by the hour.
I say give it to a VETERAN. BUT TOO LATE
Why????? This beautiful Hause!!!! 😠😠.
That machine needs a thumb.
What a waste!!! tear it down to build something half as nice.
This country has completely lost its mind. Why would you demo that beautiful home someone somewhere could have saved that???
SERIOUSLY, WHAT THE F..........? There was NOTHING wrong with that house! >.
Eventually the housees on evergreen will be demolition and junk gone its a process im working on everyda gn
ATLEAST SAVE THEDORRS

My main feedback is the camera work. Sure, you have to stay back, but at least pick a stationary position with a view of the actual bucket.
What a waste of a lovely house
why are these lovely houses being destroyed they are gorgeous seems like such a terrible waste does the author of the page know the answer is a real tragedy to destroy something so gorgeous
some people have too much money - more then they can handle !
Im sorry but I could not have done that they would have to fire me from my job🤬.😢
Must be on by the hour
Need room for one more mc mansion!
GOD, he is so slow😂😂😂
Must been snake in house he is trying to find it
I guess there were Too many White House’s on the block. The oldest had to go…
the guy with hose is getting a divorce and she is only getting half the house

They had to tear it down because it smelled like cat pee.
Deodorant man, deodorant.
Wow 😮
Is it a woman, in that excavator. Because that sure isn't a man. No balls at all. They have to be paying by the hour.
This fellow is slow on trackhoe
REPLACE THIS OPERator.
Another 10 homeless people on the streets
This excavator driver is not making a good job. He seems to have not much experience and is very slowly in demolishing the house. Boring😮
why destroy this gouse??
it was part of a multi property redevelopment
WHY?
I think that they should put an Ames Department Store there because Ames is a very excellent store.
ames went bankrupt 21 years ago
No. Service Merchandise.
Stop hitting the floor
Why
