Hey foresty, i know you love to hike and stuff but dont feel pressured to hike just to make interesting content. Even your "boring" days are ones that many of us wish and dream of. You are already so entertaining by yourself that you could do anything and it would make us happy :)
Agreed, some of your best videos are you just hangin out.
A while back on one of his uploads, I think he mentioned if he didn't keep active, he would quickly pack on the pounds.
Story of my life.
Agreed 💜
Agreed - A Q+A would be cool
Uhhh no way. He stops hiking and biking I'm out
As I get ready for my 9-5 job, then sitting in traffic , to sit at a desk for 8 hours, then drive back , to do it all again.............I realise what a waste I’m making of my life, all to pay for a house that’ll be too big when I finally own it and retire too old to do anything. I am truly jealous of you Foresty and would give it all up in a flash . You are truly living life. And a great man too. You have my total respect
Come for Foresty and the crockpot, stay for the scenery and the music
Ain't it the truth though
Get this man a wingsuit so he can glide back down to his bike from now on.
Hell no. I want Foresty alive. I mean some of the mountain climbs were already dangerous enough...
A small parawing might be safer
@tariq nazeem Was your comment on this video? I didn't see it. Looks like we share the mindset of a fast travel home after a long day's hike.
@@fearsomebunny Fair enough. They can be pretty dangerous.
I’m saying !
Cooking ribs with bears around. What a daredevil!
Bryan Meaki I agree! As a former Alaskan, who’s driven the Alcan through the Yukon to the Lower 48 dozens of times, be careful out there! I only saw the bear spray. I hope you’re carrying more protection than that. Please don’t get over confident and stay safe. This vlog was awesome. Loved the “hike”! Thank you!
@@albertarose1433 foresty was certified in Bear relations from the Timothy Treadwell Institute.
@@jquest43 Yikes - I don't think that one's accredited!
@Micheal Rows I'd hate to see young bear-whisperers waste their student loans (remember the park ranger saying of Treadwell, "the bears avoided him because they seemed to think he was retarded." )
Fed well by Treadwell...grizzlies are opportunistic eaters!
Probably the only genuine and down to earth van lifer on youtube.
What about chad from living the van life? I personally think he’s a really cool guy as well
Adventurevanman is down to earth legit
Chris the hiker yes but we don’t see much slow cooking on that show...
Elvis travels is good
Man I just found him blows me away
Everytime you reach a summit and send up the drone I marvel at the views you get to witness and I'm so grateful you brought us along, it reminds me how little my worries really are compared to those gigantic beautiful mountains.
But even more than a summit, I'm grateful for your content, any content. We're just along for the ride, don't ever think you have to reach a summit. Seeing you live out a Van life dream, cooking, fishing, sitting by the fire is wonderful too. Just be you and it will always be enough.
Absolutely!!! Very well said.
Us: How do you motivate and challenge yourself?
Foresty: Well, it's snow easy task. If you can bear with me, I'll stream my progress. Bit of a slow-burner, but summit to do with a fat bike, a lean guy, some trail mix...but I won't drone on about it. Basically, panoramic vs pandemic, every which way you van.
*That van should be an Ad for Chevy products...you’ve single handily have changed my opinion on domestic vehicles...being a Toyota guy and all!*
hahahaa. Me Too
Chevy, give Forest a new van!!!
How do you know it isn't?
It's all about maintaining your vehicle can least 300k Miles easy
I think he needs an old early 90 Dodge ram truck with a 400 dollar bed camper on it. Along with big ass horns on the hood and a shotgun
Foresty may not have much money, but he lives richer than just about anybody else on this planet. I feel privileged just to know him through UA-cam.
"...loaded myself up with a food supply..." AND A CROCK POT! Great to see your co-host is back in rotation.
They usually say "if the water is too clear then there will be no fish". But God damn that pond water is crystal clear, and with the background mountains and trees it's like you're in a painting.
@wayouttatune2 Haha it's a metaphorical saying. It means that if there's not a little incentive (aka corruption) then nobody will want to be involved. I was joking.
If you ever get tired of climbing mountains, you should start a mobile pop up “slow cooker” restaurant from your van. Seeing those ribs sizzling over the fire... I’d pay money to eat your food haha, cheers mate happy trails!
It'll take 6 hours to get my meal
I would eat there.
Hey Forestry, I spent the early part of my working life in factories, don’t ever go back buddy, it has crushed the spirt of millions of others. You have found your path, stay on it man. Really love the videos and Im spreading the word, but its hard to get someone excited by saying a guy lives and travels in his minivan and does some amazing slow cooker meals while he rides his fat bike to mountain climbs. But once they actually see one of your youtube videos they subscribe :) You have gift of storytelling my friend. Be safe, keep a journal, write a book.
Your my hero Forest. I mean it. I dont have enough words to express. Know this Forest....... You are reaching people in a very positive way. You have a way about you. I am a subscriber of course and its plain to see in the comments the positive affect you are having on many of us. Many of us are stuck at home right now with alot of UA-cam time on our hands or were just dealing with the woes the unfortunate circumstances of today are dealing us.. Many of us want to be doing what you are doing! Ha ha. It's very refreshing and uplifting to see you out there doing what you do. I know that I am always waiting to see your next adventure. A fellow "crappy tire" bacon eatin' Canadian........
It took that rock a million years to get up that high. And Foresty forest just pushed him back 500,000...
Yah, boot he's got a great story to tell his new friends!!!
Better than real tv
I've stopped watching tv and Netflix. I just watch these brilliant yt videos. Far superior
😂
@@adriennebyrne8237 Same here.
You reckon if we all contacted Chevy we could have an influence? Get the man a new set of wheels whilst he is a positive advertisment for their product in the vids. Lets make this happen!
Give this guy a show on Travel Channel - its better than any of the crap they have on TV. GREAT CHANNEL
Look at the water and the mountains. 😳
That scene at 3:08 made me have to pause the video and stare in awe, I audibly said holy shit. Dude your channel is one of the greatest on UA-cam, someday I hope to be brave like you and travel all over the world. Much love friend, stay safe and have fun!
Edit: Just finished watching the whole thing, that shot at 12:06 left me literally speechless. Honestly this entire video kept my jaw on the floor, my from the scenery to the cooking. I was literally eating my dinner and I couldn't help but feel hungrier watching you cook haha
I think 3:17 is even more fantastic. It's like a painting!
Yep, as soon as I saw that I wondered who else thought the same!
Exactly!
It is a beautiful place to be.
I just recently discovered this channel and I am so glad I did! the cinematography the planning and oh my gosh the Crock-Pot food is just amazing. This truly is one of the best channels on UA-cam. 💯
That was the best 16min 20 seconds of my week. Already looking forward to the next one! DONT ever go back to the factory Foresty Forest, please and thank you.
please do a video on all the safety stuff you have in place, from bears to whatever man. Just let us know ur taking right back up steps. Your literally making so many peoples life happy watching ur content and now you gotta be protected like a national treasure or something. 😃✊🏽
My favourite van lifer!
My goodness, the fishing scenes were amazingly gorgeous.
Yeah, the views were amazing! Imagine we wouldn't have gotten as many different one if they had been bitting at 1st spot. Would have enjoyed seeing how he cooked up his catch, but we got ribs & chicken anyway.
Liked before watching because I know this is going to be great!! 😍🇨🇦
OMG those shots of you fishing with the mountain in the background are beautiful.
Love the beer fridge! Cheers!
A special kind of calm that these videos bring me... Keep doing what you're doing forest!! Much love from Croatia. Peace
Nothing like enjoying a warm meal while watching Foresty forest . Keep this man out of the factory !
Filled with crazy adventures or watching you clean your van, whatever it is, I watch every second.
When are we getting “foresty out of the factory” T-shirts?
I'd buy one!
@@hangugeohaksaeng Yes that would be awesome!
Your up to three t-shirt sales! I’d have one!
I’d buy one!
Same here.
Stunning ... I'll never make it to the summit of a mountain that high up so thank you for taking us with you. Now that you've made me hungry I need to find some food. : ) Thanks for the video.
The fishing shots were amazing - the backdrop!
Can't get over that view on the top of Mt. Archibald. Scenery for dayz. Thanks for sharing! Can't wait for you to catch some fish!
I wait for your videos, when I get notified that you have uploaded one then first thing is to like your video and watch it and then go through the comments. This has become my routine watching FF videos. Thanks again for another amazing video with the amazing drone shots.
World needs more guy’s like Forrest!
The fishing and mountain views are just incredible. So glad you made it back down from the top. I look forward to these so much. Thank you!
Foresty, man, you are awesome! Your van is like true Hi-Tech...all the stuff you have inside, that heavy duty Li-Ion battery , induction cooking in a van in the middle of nowhere!!!! All custom built by yourself? Your really know your way around the camping life, with technology making it comfortable! What an adventures you experience! Keep up the good life!
I lost my stomach when you said "it looks like a big cornice hanging over the edge" and promptly slipped!! YIKES!! What a wonderful video. Beautiful views!!! Perfect music!
This is what i like to think of as good karma youtube. Your videos really brighten up my day, especially as in the UK we still can't head to the "Mountains".
I like how you went 10 steps back after lighting the fire 😂
That black bear was just gorgeous!
I haven't even watched this vid yet but I'm easily giving this a like:) Will watch later and hopefully the slow cooker makes an appearance. lol
I always like before watching his videos :"D
Yeah! Get's a like as soon at the video pops up. U KNOW its going to be EPIC! The scenery was UNBELIEVABLE. From the river with the mtns in the background to the views along the hike. Then, there's the summit to the drone shots. And I'm almost holding my breath watch each bear. Again, all I can say it UNBELIEVABLE!
My new favourite channel. Mountains, forests, bikes and great food!. Awesome country. I'd love this as my back yard.
This guy is a true Canada and inspiration, as always good sir, stay safe on your adventures.
best wishes from Edmonton.
PS you should try investing in a small instapot to get some more versitility on your recipies. Insta pots are just remarkable.
this guy is the definition of the word ''Canadian'' :D
Scared me when you were up on top! Congrats!😳
I really appreciate the reverse angle shots, man. They look good. I just wish you didn't have to climb over the fallen tree over the rushing creek an extra time. Or scramble over a snowy patch again.
REI sponsor this man!
He dont want sponsors
Once again, thank you for showing me parts of my home I will never get to myself. Cheers.
171k Subs, Not bad Forest! Who would of guess that some young guy living in his minivan with his fat bike and slow cooker could develop such a following. Nice camera work and sound editing as well Forest!.
Thank you. The mountain footage was spectacular. I live in the Colorado Rockies and I must say nothing like those.
great cooking, Forest 👍 so, Forest washes his cutting board in the creek and paprika enters the food chain. next year, ultra spicy trout are found in the Yukon!
Man nature is amazing . Wish I was there with you
I cant be the only one who's most youtube subscriptions are videogame and comedians, but then we have foresty the greatest mini van youtuber I know. Like just something about him is so amazing and so down to earth!
Looks like you have the life forest, love from England xx
I think this is my favorite Foresty Forest video to date. What a summit! Chevy seriously needs to sponsor this guy.
Best videos on YT hands down. Keep on adventuring.
All those shots when you were out fishing and next day were magnificent. Made me relax just watching. What a beautiful area and I cannot get over the color of that lake. Here in Upstate NY, our lakes are overpopulated with motor boats and dark. Another great one 👍 Hey where’s the drone? Hopefully makes an appearance unless I missed something happened to it.
Edit I see the drone. Yessss!!
the look of that mountain as you were driving ! MAANN ! 😦 one helluva an absolutely epic hike dude !! amazing .
I love watching your videos right before I go to sleep it’s so relaxing
Foresty Forest, you gave me a visceral feeling of veritgo when you summitted that peak! When you cut to drone panaroma shots with background music your videos become absolutely mesmerizing to me. I'll keep watching them if you keep making them, but I don't know if that ultimately means anything. May peace always be with you.
The pure enjoyment you get from these hikes/climbs 😍 Your ribs always look yummy. Happy Trails 💙🌱😊
Awesome, Foresty...the mountain top and the ribs were sites to behold. Tomorrow...go forth with as much confidence as a four year old boy in a Batman t-shirt. Yup! Merry Ann from Minnesota
That view from the summit is beyond awesome !
You're a God damned legend
This is the best van life you tube channel by far. I'm kitting out a ford e250 for a peakbagging road trip to colorado, and i think this channel by far has influenced me. I just want to climb mountains. I think the van is gona be awesome. I love long distance trails and bike touring but i want to be able to come back to the van and pull some salad and meat outa the fridge after a hard day of hiking or biking!!!
Big fan Foresty! Livin' the life
Some of the best views yet! Grew up in Alberta and often miss the mountains!
I remember you taking about trying to eat more greens , you should look in to getting a BioSnacky i have one and I love it . It would go well on your back window shelf . It's good for greens to go in sandwiches .
Nice, i need to get some sprouts going asap.

The thing that I think everyone can agree with is that you being "entertaining" is simply showing us your day to day lifestyle. Many people only dream of living like this and you've really made it a functioning reality. Keep it up Foresty
The man can cook.
The slow cooker does it all tho
You're videos are making me gain weight but can't stop watching them, as a former mountaineer, they take me back to my climbing days in the andes. Thanks for uploading
I wish I could come to Canada and bring some nice food and share some of the amazing views with you and then leave...something to remember for a hundred years. You're really blessed being able to live like a free man and enjoy nature and its beauty.
My crock pot is happy now ! For a lure, a Panther Martin works well too.
You can get them in a variety of colors, and sizes. Sometimes a color change will do good
Tried a yellow/red... nothing. Then black/red... it catches fish.
These vids calm me during these difficult times
I am both blown away and simultaneously can't understand how you summit these peaks in a SINGLE day, and still get back in time to produce a good slow cooker recipe!
You are amazing!
Bad Ass ! some really great shots up on top ! nice work / courage ~peace~
So happy I discovered this channel some weeks ago
2 pounds of ribs, 1/2 lb of potatoes and 4 Brussels sprouts XD fantastic hike!!!!
DAMN BOY YOU SUMITTEDTED IT ALREADY ❣❣❣
YOU DA MANN👊👏✌🙏❤🏞👋
Finally living in a van down by the river!!!!!! lol AWESOME love the episodes keep them up
6:05 that's how I want to be all year long. Plus the fishing, hiking, exploring, ect. That's the life. Self sufficient and have all the gear ya need from sleeping, cooking, and hiking. I love it!!!
Who besides myself tend to rewatch each episode a few times....
Those ribs looked really delicious, I'm so jealous. The scenery is nice too.
Foresty uses liquid Boy Scout to start his fire. Who knew😁
Girl scout...
Another legendary video! I think Foresty has reached the level where he deserves to have a sponsor or two. Chevy for a van, Rival for a slow cooker, and maybe some hiking and biking sponsors too.
FF!
Jason from Maryland here
I'm just about to eat dinner, gonna watch the vid as I go!
Cheers!
Black bear!............
Yup Foresty ,you show us the absolute Beauty of Canada's Rockies . What worries me the most about all the adventures , doing this ALONE .... is the fact that I don't want to see a video with a tragic ending for you . BE SAFE !!!!!!!
I love the videos! I hope you will do some city vanlife videos when all the stuff thats going on right now ends. Much luck!
I'm not much of a city guy but i will try to show more of the sights in towns..
@@forestyforest Thanks! That would be awesome, its to be expected that you arent a city guy with a youtube name like foresty forest haha
I don't normally care much for drone footage, but Foresty Forest's is always epic! Great work sir, keep living the dream!
"The Worst Day Fishin' is still better than the Best Day Workin'!" -Old Logger/Fish Assassin sayin'
I really come here just to see you cook, but in love with the views
You obviously seen my comment about keeping your beer in the river ;) watching from Ireland 🇮🇪
More fishing videos please....the sound of the water rushing against the shoreline and the scenery is food for the soul...thank you!
Foresty, dont make me come out there!!( in a mother's voice). That was dangerous! 😖😟
I have to admit I got a little shaky just watching. I don't like heights so those panorama shots made me a little dizzy. You are the man Foresty. God Bless.
Scared the shit out of me too
Mackerel out of the can is a very close second to fresh outa the lake, eh? Yet another amazing video. Outstanding adventure!
@Micheal Rows I eat much smoked kippers from a factory just down the road here in New Brunswick.
I’m ready my friend
Warmin my heart FF!! Stayed at The Talbot Arm at Destruction Bay 2x on the route from OR to AK. Kluane Lake and the surrounding area is magic!
I was actually breathless at the summit view...and the rivers for fishing. ..wow...but cooking ribs out in bear country??? No way!!!
The water looks so crisp and clear. The position of the camera was really good showing the mountains in the back.
