I say you pay for it play the hell out of it. Rock till we drop
Good shout mate 💪❤️
Agreed obviously If it was Hendrix or SRV than I could see a museum no knock on Gary
It sounds great man keep it and take it out and rock it, you will always have that great story of its history
Awesome mate, thanks a lot
Pieces of music history should be passed down to the next generation so we can all hear and enjoy the killer tonal goodness! Love it.
All gear, regardless of it being vintage or having famous provenance or not should be played and enjoyed. That's what it was made for. Kirk Hammett and Greeny are a perfect example. Collectors of gear and guitars who lock these instruments and gear away in a vault get a big middle finger from me.
@@svartmetall
Right on my man!
Rock on!
\m/
That end jam was bloody brilliant! I had to watch it a few times over, so good!
As for the historic gear, if it’s respected and in good hands it should be played on special occasions such as this 🔥
Ha ha, thank you so much for that Henry 🎸🙌
You would think Gary would have wanted it to be passed on to someone who would enjoy it just like you Chris .....so you just went from clean tone to fuzz , wow what a beast !
Awesome, thanks a lot mate
Robin Trower uses the Fulltone Deja Vibe has for years because Dunlop and the late great Fulltone are and where Authentic
Gear was made to be used, so I think it shouldn’t be behind a glass. But when we’re talking about vintage/unique gear it shouldn’t belong to a random guy playing in his garage or not playing at all, it should be played and displayed so everyone can enjoy it
Cheers
Sounds great, and do what you want with the pedal, its YOURS!
Thanks a lot mate, and I think you are right ha ha 💪🎸
Museum!
Heck No, you using these pedals for content allows thousands more of us to actually hear it, experience it.
Thank You for sharing this, great playing and a heck of a lot of fun (for both yourself and all of us watching/listening).
Also, I'm a huge Germanium fan, I think I've 6 or 7 pedals that use both the Germanium Transistors as well as the Germanium diodes.
No Museum, you are a perfectly fine Custodian to care for and use those pedals.
Mr. Moore would want those pedals to be played.
What a lovely comment, thank you so much for that 🎸🚀❤️
No disrespect intended towards Kirk Hammett, but I don’t think he’s the right player for owning his 59 Les Paul standard “Greenie”. I think it’s cool that you guys acquired the pedals. Love Gary Moore!
Thanks a lot for the comment Bill! I’ve heard a few people share the same sentiment in regards to Kirk 🎸
Play that thing till the knobs fall off. What good is vintage gear if u can't use it and it only sits behind a glass case. these things are meant to be played and Heard. Anyone who knows this channel would know that you will cherish this pedal and take great care of it while sharing it with the world through your videos.
I wish I had anything at all that Gary owned. He was an awe inspiring blues shredder, and such an inspiration to me. Awesome!
Lol, listing on reverb incominggggg!!
great pedal and demo, playing 🔥, long live Gary Moore!
Thanks so much, and yes indeed ❤️🎸
I have one of these fuzzes .. not the most aesthetic Fuzz Face or pedal board friendly, but sounds great. Overdrives to smooth fuzzzz
Strange that he would not already own a bunch of these from his previous gigs, and that show was a planned filming session for the video, maybe he just liked buying pedals but glad it’s going to get thrashed, that was what it was made for, Rock on! ✊🏼💫🎶🎸
Awesome comment, thanks a lot Martin 🚀🎸
I think your exactly the kind of dude who should own this - a true aficionado, superb next gen player and run a great pedal company - Rock on 🎸
Awesome comment, thanks so much for that support
Wonder why Gary didn’t buy an original pedal if he was after a Jimi tone. Sounds really good to my ears though, really great playing and it’s nice to see these pedals played. They could always be shown off at a guitar show for fans.
It seems when it comes to pedals, Gary really wasn’t that precious. Thanks a lot for the cool comment🎸
Only 2 fuzz faces. One with germanium transisters. One with silicon transisters. Jimmy had both but mostly played the newer with silicon transistors. But i tell you a secret, the germanium transister one sound waaaaay better.
I don't play but love to watch these clips not only to learn interesting things but also to hear Chris demonstrate the equipment.
@@illegallystalked3119 How would you define "better" sound for the germanium version?
@@dingalarm "better" = he preferred it over the other one
I once met a guy who restored antique cars, really antique, like Model-T era. I asked him if he just showed his cars or if he drove them around. He said unequivocally that "cars are for driving". Same with Fuzz Faces - they are for playing.
Another fantastic video I actually enjoyed it have a good week
Thanks so much, I’m glad you actually enjoyed it & hope you had a great birthday 🥳
@@PedalPawn absolutely it was okay to be honest
It should be played!! If you like it. Did you try backing the fuzz off a little? Usually they clean up better if you don't max the fuzz, especially if its a gainey fuzz. Just to tell you Gary ended up using an EHX fuzz with a graphic in the end for his Jimi tones!
Good for you mate! Continue the tradition and rock on!
I think any pedals you guys buy are in good hands and you guys are very capable of preserving these pedals and cloning them would be awesome too.maybe there's a way to profile fuzz and other pedals just like amps that would be so killer so anyone can purchase a profile of legendary pedals
That’s an awesome idea 🚀🎸
Very cool! I’m a big Gary Moore fan, I wanted to share that I just read Harry Shapiro’s biography on him and he states that although Gary bought all the Roger-Mayer pedals in rehearsals for the Hendrix tribute gig he did not use any of them, it sounds like the fuzz he chose to go with was the Electro Harmonix Graphic Fuzz. Of course Gary would have sounded great with anything.
That’s really cool information, you are right about him using anything and making it sound great ha ha 🚀🎸
Amazing pedal, all the more wonderful because it was used by a god like Gary Moore. I'm glad it's in your safe hands and being used as it was intended.
Used and cherished, this is the way! 🤘🏼
❤️🙌💯
Nice!!! You should be playing it! No glass case, lol
That’s actually a late 90’s early 2000 version the circuit board is upside down where the components are facing inside the chassis and the early 90’s was the JHF2 circuit and it was right side up so you could see all the components I know because I have both.. but either way both came with a version of NKT275 transistors.. germanium just sounds so good and cleans up beautifully.. IMHO .. just not as reliable temperature wise.. BC183 sounds so close to germaniums to my ears..
Play it! It wasn’t meant to sit in a glass case! Now I have to get one, thanks! Lol. 👍🎸
we have enough stuff in museums Gary would want these used
It needs to be played and cherished. What's the fun in having it in a case collecting dust?
sounds nice
Thanks a lot for watching mate 🎸
I've got the same fuzz face!
That’s awesome 🎉🎉
mad skills dude
If Gary wanted it to be behind glass in a museum he would have stated that to his representatives before he passed. With you it is in very good hands.
Great insight, thanks a lot 🎸
That looks a lot like my red Jim Dunlop JD-F2 Fuzz Face pedal, same circuit board, but mine came with two NTE 158 germanium transistors fitted, one day they started self-oscillating and then they died, so I ended-up converting my JD-F2 over to two silicon BC108C transistors.
These things, like old guitars, should be played. Put trees in the musuem, they’re much more valuable :)
This pedal is capable of getting that glassy cleanup tone! There are trimpots inside that you can adjust
Nobody's coming to a museum to see a mass production pedal that somebody who isn't that famous outside guitar playing circles, once happened to own.
Hell even jimi's fuzz face wouldn't have that much draw
Kirk Hammett uses Greeny live, all over the world. If he can do that to Greeny, then I'm sure these pedals can be used.
Sounds awesome, play it!
Depends how durable. It all should be played unless too delicate. Some gear should only be recorded and stored in controlled environments. Guys like Bonamassa play '59 Les Paul's onstage outdoors...
It’s gear , and should absolutely be used imo, that’s what it’s meant for !!!
It’s mainly Gilmour for me, and Hendrix 2nd, but heck yeah I love that fuzz faze sound as well. You’re Aces Chris, super playing.
That’s ace too haha! Thanks a lot mate as always
Who is gonna be in a museum and say oh my God it's Gary Moores fuzz face...I think his recorded music is the museum and how people experience Gary Moore . I think the general public doesnt know what a fuzz face is.......I think a Guitarist should have it like you because your gonna really appreciate it and use it and I bet Gary would want that and your keeping the blues alive with it and inspiring others glad u got it and not Kirk Hammet lol. I have the pedal pawn fuzz my search for silicon fuzz is over its the best I have ever played by far. Love the clean up on it . But hey man your right a germanium rolled off does have that kinda plexi sound ....now I need the germanium lol.....
Thanks so much for that ha ha 🤣🙌❤️
If anyone will honor/do justice to iconic gear, it's Chris King Robinson.
Thanks so much 🎸❤️
They should be played and loved. They’re meant to be played
1:48 Gary owned lots of pedals - some he used, some were spares. This was bought for a project and might have been used but he tended to put black pen marks by his chosen settings. If there was a Gary Moore museum, it would be nice to see gear which was closely associated with him and which had a story attached … but there isn’t and the sale provenance says the Fuzz Face was Gary’s, not that he used it. So, imho, there’s no reason to not enjoy using the pedal and its connection with the great man :)
Wild about that sound: irrefutably badass.
Wonder if Gary used this pedal when he did the Cream material w Jack Bruce and Gary Husband
Sounds delightful!
Thanks a lot for watching mate 🎸
This is crazy. I literally (yesterday) got the same type pedal on the mail. Smile-less and everything. Every part of the inside looks the same. Mine shows 2010.
Wow, that’s incredible 🚀❤️ enjoy mate!!
It`s yours to use or put in a glass case or both. I say "Play it".
PLAY IT!!!
Let’s goooo 🚀🎸
Pedal Pawn bought the pedals so Pedal Pawn decides what to do with the pedals, in my book. Not gonna tell others what to do with their possessions.
Let’s talk about those nkt275 s 😂
What amp did you use? Very important information when talking about fuzzes, I think. 😉
Cool sounds, nice playing and a great story btw ... 😁
@@flowboxx thanks so much mate, using a fender deluxe (Reverb) reissue 🎸🚀
If I want this sound, what choice of recent pedals do I have? Are the current red Dunlop (mini) Fuzz Faces as good as the vintage ones?
Sounds like my Roger Mayer rocket pedal…
Even with the history of the petals they were made to be used.
There are literally thousands of those pedals out there, if this one had been modded or customized for or by Gary then it MIGHT belong in a museum, and that's a pretty big mite. There's really no way to verify that this pedal was Gary's except for that piece of paper, which, in my humble opinion, does not make this a "museum quality" piece.
I think you should send Gary Moore"s pedals to me!! Thanks in advance
Just play the damn thing!!!
I really like your playing🤝
Thanks a lot mate 🚀🎸
Given how items such as this are treated by museums I would say heck no. It will sit in a box in the back and be brought out once for a few months and put back into a box and then come up “missing” or damaged. You paid for it it is yours
Museum displays should be reserved only for instruments and other pieces of gear that have a unique historic backstory (like say, EVH's Frankenstrat, Jimi's Woodstock Strat, Clapton's Burst/Marshall from the Beano album, Cobain's SLTS Mustang, SRV's #1, etc.). Pieces that are very much tied with a particular time or event that had a massive impact on music. As cool as Gary Moore is, this isn't one of those items.
So, play the hell out of it, and if anyone complains and insists it should be in a museum, they can offer to buy it from you and donate it to one themselves.
I agree, and that’s a great shout about them buying it 🤣🙌🎛️
share the bias voltage please 😂
The same folks upset that you have his pedals probably foam at the mouth over Kirk Hammett owning Greenie. Play it, enjoy it, add to its history.
You collecting pedals is just another step on the journey for both of you. You can let the pedals go to another caretaker or keep them for yourself. But them just rotting on a shelf doesn't help anyone anywhere. Don't stop.
you bought it. play it.😁😁
💯🙌🥳
It sounded good but is far from the original like Hendrix played. If I remember correctly the original had no PC board. There was only 2 Germanium Transistors and supporting components (which were few) but the newer version sounded great and looked like an upgraded version of the original.
How you do dat @5:16??
I think those should be played, not put in a museum
I had one if these at the time, they were selling for nothing,i should have kept it haha.My MJMs were sounding way better than this tho
Killer tone and playing as always mate, love your vibroverb video too!🔥🔥🔥🔥
That’s awesome mate! And thanks so much for that, can’t wait for you to see a video coming later this week with the Vibroverb 🎛️🚀
@@PedalPawn Can t wait!
It's a dunlop Fuzz face
😝🎸
Are you going to make us all a pedal pawn fuzz that sounds as good or better than that one?
Everyone is entitled to freedom of speech but personally I'd use them.
Fun fact, you can buy vintage used Gary Moore gear cheaper than anything Pedal Pawn offers.
All gear is meant to be played.
it was soap box 2 transistors scoolboys made black sabath
Will you take anything from this pedal and bring it to your own? “The Moore fuzz” maybe?
That would be cool, in this case, probably not as it’s quite a standard circuit. Though just happens to be a great one at that 🚀🎸
Just me, or did you have the Fuzz pot almost all the way off?
Play the pedals and forget the display case
To be fair I want to know who ended up with his Fiesta Red Strat.
That’s a beautiful strat 🎸❤️
All is gear was not stock....??
What amp you running it into?
This was a fender deluxe Reverb reissue 🚀🎸
awesome sounds, no gear should be vaulted away to gather dust they need to be played and loved. PS it's a little annoying the way you close a shot out with your hand or a bit of gear can you not just fade the shot out?
I’m going to try just fading out, if I look like a weirdo, I’m going to blame you 🤣🙌
PS, thanks a lot 🎸🚀
@@PedalPawn well maybe just show a picture of a bunny instead or maybe a strat you have knocking about there
These old bits of gear belong with people who are passionate about them. I sincerely doubt gary or jimi would want them sat in a glass cabinet. Play it to death 👍
Definitely an investment, and a great sounding one. Sound is all that matters at the end of the day. It should retain its value and it's a cool piece of history! Cool vid!
The pedal is in good hands! I don't think those pedals SHOULD be anywhere. If they're on display, fine. If they're being used, even better, especially by people that actually own and love pedals enough to start designing and building them. Fuck that clown.
your hands don't seem that grimey.
🤣🙌🎸
Is it a looking at pedal?!?!?! Or a playing pedal?!?!?! Gary played it and much like Greeny…. All this needs to be played by anyone and everyone…. Gary’s pedals should be loaned out to any pro who would contact you to take it out on tour…. Should always be played!!
These things need to be played. Or else they are worthless.
💯% 🎸
You bought it, so it belongs to you. Period. Here's another question: As far as I know Gary Moore owned two 1959 Les Pauls. The Greeny now belongs to Kirk Hammet. What happened to the other one?
Sounds kinda like a fuzz face
😅😅🙌
Why should any piece of gear be any good if someone's just going to put it away in a glass case to be stared at and not be heard? Play it as much as the last owner did.
$100 dollars?
It is ridiculous to keep these types of gear in a glass case. The legends wouldn't want that and we don't either!
Sell it to Joe Bonamassa he will bring it back on the road
In a glass case it's no longer a part of music. It's just a thing. Play the hell out of it
