TRANSFORMERS DEFENSOR Demon Knight ENLARGED Review

- Transformers Defensor traces his roots to G1, but Demon Knight has put out a MASSIVE version based on the Combiner Wars version that towers above the rest! Captain Kyle goes through the DK01-05, sets A and B, to see if it would be good for your collection.
Defensor appeared in the Transformers Generation One cartoon with no explanation and was brought in to face off against the Combaticon combiner Bruticus. The Protectobots joined the Autobots in foiling both the plans of Megatron and, later, the schemes of the new incarnation of the Decepticon leader, Galvatron. The original set of G1 Transformers was a mere 8 inches tall, but the Combiner Wars raised the bar to 11 inches. Enter the Demon Knight Specil Team (their spelling) which raised him to 18 inches tall and gave him better feet, fists, and an overall look. Captain Kyle goes through each of the team members, starting with Hot Spot, and including First Aid, Blades, Streetwise, and Groove (no Rook for this set) to see if the quality is as great as this toy’s height.

Mine is on its way as we speak. Can't wait!!
The extra combiner parts are also a knockoff/oversize of the C+ custom kit that was available to the combiner wars version
the extra piece is for streetwise as he has a red lever thing inside his right foot since it is known to fall off
oh Btw the logo on blades is inspired by the USCGs logo but the anchor is replaced by the autobot logo
This one is technically a knockoff of the Weijiang oversized Defensor. The 4 limb bots are nearly identical, excluding the die-cast metal parts WJ put in & I believe the articulated hands are new to this version. I do own the WJ versions of Rook, Wildrider & Offroad & they can attach as limbs. This is why Blades has the Alpha Bravo head, they made a mistake when copying the molds.
Hotspot is weird as they took the WJ mold & incorporated the C+ Custom upgrade kit into it, but it's part of the mold so you can't just remove it(mostly... I did take off the leg panels because I thought they were in the way but I had to disassemble the legs & knock out pins to do it). The default shoulder connectors are even filled in.
Overall I find it to be well-made & very stable, as well as perfect for me as most of my combiners are CW Devastator size. But usual "KO company QC" may be a thing, I got mine discounted from a US seller because a foot peg broke off in one of the bots, from what looked like a possible air bubble in the casting process. I was able to extract the broken half, glue it & run in a screw so it's probably more stable than before, but be careful. It also has the same problem most CW did, but bigger- you are balancing the robot on a pair of ankle pegs that stick up from the feet, which is scary with that much weight being balanced. The gap between bot & foot plate is one I plan to fill in somehow, probably with durable foam rubber around the peg, just for some extra stability.
I also got a set of G1 Defensor reprolabels & applied them as best I could to their "intended" spots as I thought some parts were a bit bland, especially the combiner torso chest.
I like him I’m gonna get him when I get paid and put him to my collection
Got this set a week ago. Pretty good for the price. It's not masterpiece but if you don't care that it's not exactly G1-looking or MP quality, it still looks awesome and the size makes it fit nicely with MP combiners. The upgrade kit that this has is based on the now rare kit that was made for the Unite Warriors/CW set. I got it a few years ago for the CW version but never put it on. This KO OS version looks like it incorporates the upgrade kit a lot better. I like it enough that I regret not getting another set to display in vehicle mode but I think I will pick up the Yes-Model box set for that.
Where did You buy defensor?
Just bought this one. Have the ko of combiner wars and yes model.
I really liked this upscaled figures and he matches well with official devastator. Now just got to hope they do the rest of the combiners! 😂
I have it and I love it and those two big guns combine also
If one of the bots had robot aids, would the other bots get robot aids when they combined?
Uhh, hmm. Well......umm, uh, yeah, I guess that could be an issue. It would depend how deep the combiner peg is penetrating that particular bot. Uh, at this point, more research is definitely required. 😂😂
That’s a BIG BOY! I considered getting this guy, he looks awesome! But I am happy with my KO Defensor. My ocd doesn’t allow me to purchase anything that throws my scale off 😅 It would look good for a MP collection.
That box art is sick!
Excelente análisis del universo de Transformers esta brutal ese Defensor me gusta lo comprare Saludos Capitan Kyle
How well does this compare to jinbao devastator?
If your still wondering, fully combined it's about 17 inches tall. It looks amazing next to Jin bao OS Devy!! I think it's cool, and he's great to look at combined, the individual bots are, well, their pretty cool, but the main reason we bought the thing, was to go full on Defensor!! Hope you have a great day. Cheers mate.
Hope they can do the same to POTP Abominus,Poseidon and Volcanicus....save our pocket😅😅😅😅
Question, do the the two guns combine like in the photos or not
Yes. One gun you need to open at the barrel and the two halves fold back. Then the other gun, with the handle folded back, can attach (upside down) to the first gun.
Thank you. Friendly tip. Gotta show something like that in future videos
@@greygremlin1248 I just did. 🙂ua-cam.com/video/SJsBNtHt3ts/v-deo.html
i have this and it is so epic
I'm buying it, but TF-Direct has two different combined designs being advertised on their site for this guy. I guess a Like_Toys kit slipped into their photos by accident.
Devastator is so weak that he even got defeated by Perceptor's own microscope rocket.
HI CAPTIAN KYLE! As a scale junkie this is not a character set for me but Great Review!
Hi Lagon! (I can mix up letters too!) LOL. There's so many scales in Transformers it's difficult to stick with one.
@@ToySpotlite excuse my dyslexia
No worries, just teasing. What state are you in, by the way?
@ToySpotlite Idaho but I am originally from your kneck of the woods
Man this is fire i got one of this
I think you transformed Hotspot's legs wrong? They're meant to be inverted (with the waist turned around) so that the ankle tilts support his stance.
That's possible. I will take a look.
Normally true but the inclusion of the C+ upgrade kit intentionally reverses things, adding a waist pivot that also puts the legs backwards due to the giant kibble chunks hanging from them.
Get ready for some aiction!!!
very cool. does hotspot have his original defensor head?
The large Hot Spot doesn't have the Combiner Wars style head on the ladder.
@@ToySpotlite oh soe they did a quite a bit of mods!
Cat helper? Das a sub
Defensor can definitely fight devastator just like in transformers headmasters
Capitan Car Car flipping himself off with Defensor's own big birdie.
