    Pauls's right, all these things should be basic for anyone calling themselves a 'Videographer'.
    That said, the 2nd part of the video was a great refresher for someone who hasn't used a 7D in a while.

    Paul, I'm sorry you found it disappointing. As I said in the info, we created it for internal use but also made it available more broadly. Believe it or not, many videographers aren't used to replaceable lenses and other DSLR standard features.

      I was going to complain at first about the over simplistic beginning of the video. I already know how to change lenses... and oh my goodness. BUT, before I ever leave possible negative criticism, I read the comments to see what others have said because there may be a reason for this level of simplicity. After reading your post JacquieGreff, I actually would rather compliment and say that I both understand the reason and thank you for making this available "more broadly". I've been shooting for many years, starting in '86 with a Canon AE-1 to my now 7D since 2010, but I never really utilized the video features. Now that I'm getting into UA-cam videos myself, I'm wanting to learn everything I can. Thank you for you video. I do appreciate it.

    Hey Jacquie, I want to say a big thank you for this video. I know it sounds weird but it is my first time using a camera (which I borrowed from a friend) and I was expecting beginner steps and this video totally helped me out, step by step. I wished I watched this sooner before I accidentally peeled something off trying to find the battery (and now I'm thinking how to apologise to my friend😂)
    It is a very detailed and informative video👍🏻 keep up the good work💪🏻

    i am still using this camera until today (January 2020) for photo and occasionally for video. It is a very good camera, even though in certain point, it lack of modern features such as 4k video. But, for now, I do not need that modern feature yet.
    Good tutorial.

    Thanks, very well presented! Any suggestions about 7D camera audio noise, probably resulting from ACG?

    • @TonalVisionLLC
      @TonalVisionLLC  2 роки тому

      If possible, use an external mic (it should have a 1/8" 3.5 mm TRS stereo microphone input). Having the microphone closer to the audio source will always capture better sound and cut down on noise. You could also use an external audio recorder if you plan to edit the video.

    Thank you very much for the tutorial! Please tell me, is it possible to somehow increase the maximum volume of high-resolution video so that the camera does not turn off after 4GB?

    • @TonalVisionLLC
      @TonalVisionLLC  Рік тому +1

      We didn't find a way. We just turned the camera off and on again periodically at times when a new clip wasn't a problem.

    I don't know why my camera just randomly stop filming. I place it still on a tripod when I vlog, and a 1-2 minutes later it shut down. I would really appreciate if you know what's going on!! Thanks!!

      I don't own this camera any longer, but I think this was one of the models that overheated. It shouldn't overheat in just 2 minutes, but if you had been using it for a while before that, it would have already been warm.

    Wrong info about erasing the card. You need to *format* the card. First orange tab with a tool, down to "format". Just erasing is not enough to make sure the card gonna be free from problems.

    • @TonalVisionLLC
      @TonalVisionLLC  6 років тому

      Thanks, Jas. We don't actually own this camera any longer, so I can't really check out your feedback. This was one of the older DSLR cameras that overheated when shooting video for more than ~15 min. so we went on to something else.

    where can i buy that accessory? the hood

    • @TonalVisionLLC
      @TonalVisionLLC  4 роки тому

      Do you mean the lens cap? This is an older video and we no longer own the camera, but I don't think we ever had a "hood" for it. We buy most of our camera accessories from B&H, but Amazon is getting better now, too.

    come on!! If someone moved from taking pictures to shooting videos, I bet they already knew how to put an effing lens!! and I can thank you enough for showing me how to turn on/off the camera. Seriously???

      I'm not sure if you expected a reply, but did you notice our information with the video said "This video was produced by Tonal Vision for our videographers who occasionally need to use this camera" ? This is actually why we made the video. DSLR-type cameras tend to have a lot of different controls and limitations that many of our videographers haven't had to deal with. I apologize if you are more advanced and wasted your time on it.

    A quick intro should be quick.... but 4 minutes of how to fit a lens, put battery in, put cf card in and turning on the camera is pointless and very disappointing... anybody with this camera or similar will already know these very simple and rudimentary things.

    • @jas_bataille
      @jas_bataille 6 років тому +3

      I disagree. I'm a pro about to shoot with this camera today for the first time. As silly as it may sound, even if I did change batteries and. cards thousands of times on various cameras, I wanna know how it's done on this specific one. Why? Because when you're client and director is right besides you and you never worked with the camera, you better know that : it's gonna over-heat after 10-15 min; the battery door is not on the side; etc
      So yeah after awhile in the industry so learn that the most trivial details are so crucially important. Also helpful when you're starting out. It's not like I need this, but I check it out anyway to have a smooth shooting day on the set ;) When you're stressed as hell on a set it's nice not to have to look up the manual all the time.
