“I love my murderer, but yours…how can I?” Wow. Such a good line. That one gets me every time.
Yes, the exact same as spoken in the book. I love those Bronte siblings so much. The writing is superb, magic and touches the soul of a reader. Not to mention Ralph Fiennes did an excellent job in his portrayal of Heathcliff. He is my favourite amongst all else that acted this part!
my favorite book in my youth.
Give this man his overdue Oscar. He is more deserving of it than any actor today.
Yes, I thought he should have been nominated for this...Heathcliff was a terrifying character but he also was the most sympathetic. He was created by years of abuse ....and when the love of his life traded him for an empty marriage based on wealth it destroyed him. Cathy was such a fool...her actions ruined everyone.
Definitely, he was a magical dark lord 🤤
Ralph Fiennes gives off such an incredible magnetism and passion....
Cathy will not admit the truth that she broke her own heart and in doing so broke Heathcliff's. She is condemning Heathcliff for leaving when she drove him to leave in the first place. Stupid, selfish cruel woman who drove Heathcliff on the path of destruction! I hope that you are satisfied Cathy for all the lives that you ruined and in doing so indirectly led Heathcliff to ruin lives as well!
@@andreavanhoof6047 She was completely taken in with the privilege and wealth of the Linton family; tragically she realised how superficial it was but by then it was too late.
Racism, child abuse, spousal abuse...Emily Bronte's book is astonishing in how it tackled these issues nearly two centuries ago. Truly ahead of its time.
Racism? In Wuthering Heights?
@@tolowokere Yes. Heathcliff was repeatedly ridiculed because he was a Roma. It wasn't just because he was a 'foundling', in the book they called him all kind of insults because he was dark skinned.
@@janesgems7 I don't think so. His Gypsy heritage was brought up because it stood out, but the hatred he had to put up with was mostly due to Hindley's jealousy (and, in later life, because of Heathcliff's own cruelty to others). If anything, Heathcliff was constantly praised as handsome and very gentlemanly in his appearance when he returned to the Earnshaws and Lintons.
@@janesgems7он не был темнокожим, во времена Эмили Бронте «цыганами» называли многих бродяг, которые вообще никак не относились к данной этнической группе. Да и цыгане, по происхождению своему, больше относятся к Индии)
Ralph Fiennes has never looked hotter!
Ralph Fiennes have taken my breath away in this movie. I will not tire to watch it again and again. He deserves an Oscar. Such an immense love and heart that bind emotions.
I love a sad, jealous Ralph Fiennes!! He is so great as an actor!!
in the end of the affair he is even better
@@BrunoGarcia79 Anyone seen Red Dragon or The Constant Gardener? Two of his best.
I've seen this actor play cold hearted roles and he was so believable.. To see him in this, all fiery passion - deep intense emotion whilst bleeding with abandonment wounds and heartbreak. 😍
This is the best version of the film, Juliette Binoche just lovely
The best version ever of withering Heights!
Ralph Fiennes is one the greatest actors of his generation... and of all time.
Heatcliffe, its me, im so cooooool.
Two amazing actors at the top of their game! Soooo romantic. Ralph Fiennes, always so good, same with Juliette Binoche. *sigh!*
"I have not broken your heart - you have broken it; and in breaking it, you have broken mine."
Ralph Feinnes was made to be Heathcliff
Later on, his nephew did another character in harry potter as young Voldemort and did a movie called after, which the writer was in love and obsessed with wuthering heights...
@@alizamarie1205 yess. Also H's favourite quote is whatever our souls are made of his and mine are the same.
I love them together. So underrated.
"For thy request the eyes not lie and thus my heart died."
Katherine died she let her love die... What an amazing scene the book is so much better (i cried for hours reading this in the book) it is put in such resonance in todays date.
Such an empowering woman, Cathy was.
Everytime I watch this scene it breaks my heart.. why did you betray your heart....
stop just found out this is voldemort and it has changed my life
I love my murderer but yours - how can I? 😢❤️
If it's possible to fall in love with a UA-cam video, I'm falling in love with this
WOW, that is an emotionally powerful scene between the two of them, and very sad too ! I REALLY love the music you used . Ralph Fienes is so good here. Great actor. I wish I could find this online.
I'm sure you'll love this version.Ralph Fiennes is excellent in the role of Heathcliff and the best of all the others i've seen so far in this part. The music i used is from the background theme from the russian tv series,"Poor Nastya",i've been telling you about.Glad you liked this video,i like that scene too both in the book and in the particular version!!!
I'm not crazy about Juliette Binoche as Cathy, but would watch it for the story & Fiennes anyway. I think that theme music is either the classical piece Adagio in G minor or from Scheherazade by Rimsky-Korsakov ?
megahappy2beme
No the musical piece is just a little version of the title song of the series, nothing to do with adagio or Scheherazade. You can listen to the original song in my video "Bednaya Nastya cast and tribute".I think i had sent it for you to listen when i first made the particular video.
Yes you did send me that video on the that series (which looked good too) . I forgot that that was the same music, I guess I was too busy looking at the actors in it. :
: )
***** No i haven't seen it.Is it the one with Merl Oberon in the role of Cathy? My favourite Heathcliff will always be Ralph Fiennes
Cathy, has to be nuts! who would turn down Mr Fiennes? :)
Right?
There is a difference between a fictional character like Heathcliff and the actor/entertainer Mr. Fiennes.
I must be the reason why
You have given up you're smiles
And the hope Inside you're eyes
Has been stolen
I must be the reason why
You must tell me all these lies
Wishing you a better life, Without me by your side
若い頃にこの映画をみて、いたく感動した記憶がある。すばらしい映画だった。
Right on!
People are saying Cathy is cruel. Yes, she does have a cruel streak for sure. She said and did some awful things. But please be aware that she had good reason to spurn him. Note his cruelty. He is cruel to the very core of his being. To those who have experience with sociopaths it’s as clear as day. He tried to guilt trip her, and she was having none of it. He is abusive and diabolical. And no, she did not drive him to do those mean things. He did evil of his own volition. She merely provided the excuse.
I totally agree. Remember the scene where he mentions the baby birds and the calendar where he kept a list of the days she spent with him and the Lintons to compare? Most people would say he became a villain but there were indications of his dark side from the beginning. If he truly loved her he would have made peace with her decision to marry Edgar because he would want her to be happy even if she loved another man.
@@lukasmiller486 , yes there were hints all through the book from the very beginning. The baby birds was particularly chilling. He also killed Ms. Linton's cat before he married her.
I think there was also the fact that he spent his early childhood without any loving parents until Mr Earnshaw found him and adopted him, and that must have impaired his development of compassion and ethics.
Buttercup, you belong in the looney bin, along with Heathcliff. Good grief! 🤦🏼♀️
@Buttercup baby ...A fictional character? ?Oh honey, I hope you are joking. Nevertheless, I hope you can get some help D:
Por favor, você poderia postar este filme completo!
Filme maravilhoso, desempenho fantástico de Ralph Fienes.
"O morro dos ventos" com Ralph Fienes e Juliette Binoche é maravilhoso, apesar de ser uma história triste.
Um filme triste e lindo no mesmo tempo.
He looks more intense as Heathcliff as when he played Amon Goeth.
I love Ralph! He's hot!
Melhor versão é essa ...
Ralph's film debut

@annetekoul - not sure if you're still there but may I ask what film is in your dp? It looks as though Jaoquin phoenix is a lead?
Right guess,it is Joaquin and Kate Winslet from the 2000 period film Quills.I consider this performance one of his greatest if not the greatest of his entire career.Have you seen it?
Not yet but I just adore him and was surprised I hadn't seen the film before, thanks for that!
+Minatos check out my tribute video "Joaquin Phoenix in Quills", it's my tribute to his performance in this film.I am a huge fan of Joaquin's too and quills is responsible for my Joaquinmania!!!!!!
annetekoul okay, will do!

HIHINTAYIN KITA SA LANGIT INSPIRED THIS😍😍😍
I am sorry, I am quite sure that particular movie was inspired by Wuthering Heights instead.
What is the music playing in the background?
From the russian tv series, "bednaya Nastia". It was a period drama series!
Heathcliff and Cathy

You want the 1992 version of Wuthering Heights with Ralph Fiennes & Juliette Binochette (not sure on spelling)
Why you betrayed your own heart my Marcy?
❤️
He's the best Heathcliff.
:DDDDD
No offense to Juliette Binoche but Winona Ryder would have been an outstanding Cathy. She plays feisty and strong willed so well in Little Women and The Crucible and I think she would have been able to balance out Cathy’s ladylike exterior with her darker more neurotic side. Binoche is okay but you can tell in this scene, her tears are artificially produced while Ralph Fiennes is really on the verge of tears from his wide eyes, trembling lips and the way he carries himself overall. I would have cast Winona as the mother and let Juliette play the daughter and then the film would have been a lot better.
Huh, no offense but no. Juliette is fine on this role, not perfect because Cathy is by the way a very hard super complex and difficult character to play, but of all the “Cathys” I watched I thought Juliette’s version was a pleasant one to watch. Winona does not have that much range as an actress to play this character, she always seemed the same in every move I watched her, Little Women, Dracula, The Age of Innocence, good Lord, no!
You’re crazy if you think Winona is a better dramatic actress than Juliette...
I think she could have been a great Catherine, however, as others have pointed out, Juliette did a wonderful job too. :)
It was her right to reject her love and move on with someone else.
But she didn't loved Edgar
@@annikalangkowski8046 Yet she never married Heathcliff nor did she leave Edgar. She made her choice and she was free to. I know what that's like.
@@EmilyGloeggler7984 because he had no money..But you are right of course! It was her right!
The best Heathcliff...

Hmm, never seen this, normally I think Ralph Fiennes is excellent, but he's just a bit too posh for this role.

Wait... she's dying, and he kissed her? Germs.....?
Please, that beautiful scene and you're talking about germs. You know you sound foolish. I'm not trying to be ugly here but you're sticking out like sore thumb here.
hahahahahaha he dug up her body from the grave some years later
LOL that's just because it was pretty recent at that time, I mean the "germs" concept was found with Pasteur around 1844 and 1847, Wuthering Heights was written around 1845 or 1846. So...
Also Pasteur was French. Emily was English. And I highly doubt that women at that time were invited to have an opinion into a controversial topic like that, which was also involved with religious beliefs. If you add that to differences between England and France. France was more catholic. England was already separated from Italy and Catholic church since 1500s... anglican, remember? Also while Britain was with Queen Victoria France was dominated by the House Bourbon 1815-1830 (after Napoleon, Hundred Days.) and later was the House of Orleans (1830-1848) after that was Napoleon 2nd Empire. This maybe explains why it took so long to the idea to get roots...
It was not really a popular idea at first. The church needed to decide if that was "God Design" or not.
Also, it's a story, there's no need to be serious or real. LMAO!
@@annabourbon Cathy was dying due to complications from childbirth - not catching!
voldemort😄😄😄
Voldercliff
Laughably overacted.
Actually, its not overacted. You want overacting? Watch the one with Laurence Olivier.
@@EmilyGloeggler7984 yeah. Only Merle was good in that film.
Everyone seems to like Ralph Fiennes, but I find him repulsive to watch. Something about his face, the way he holds his mouth, the way he speaks. He makes my skin crawl. I love Juliette Binoche as Cathy, but I wish someone else had been cast as Heathcliff.
Plenty of other versions to choose from.
😂😂😂 you hate him so much lol its funny reading your comment
