This just shows how good rock and roll was back then - I was 17 in 1966.
This is my favorite McCoys song! How I love 1964-67!
Superb version.Deserves wider presentation.Classic.
The 60s Gave Me Fever.
The first live concert I ever attended started off with The McCoys. Their opening number was Fever! I became an instant fan of The McCoys and live concerts! This Shindig version was quite subdued over the live version I remember but was great to see again!
1966💋❤
Sounds like Hang on Sloopy with Fever lyrics.
Wonderful
Great song,
On this day in 1966 {February 10th} the McCoys performed their covered version of "Fever" on the NBC-TV weekly variety program, 'Hullabaloo!'...
Seven weeks earlier it had peaked at #7 {for 2 weeks} on Billboard's Top 100 chart, and it spent a total of eleven weeks on the Top 100...
"Fever" was originally recorded by Little Willie John in 1956, his version reached #24 on the Top 100 and on July 21st, 1956 it peaked at #1 {for 5 weeks} on Billboard's R&B Singles chart...
Three other covered versions have charted, Peggy Lee {#8 in 1958}, Rita Coolidge {#76 in 1976}, and in the United Kingdom, by Helen Shapiro {#36 in 1964}...
Between 1965 and 1968 the McCoys had nine records on the Top 100 chart, two made the Top 10 with one reaching #1, "Hang On Sloopy", for one week in September of 1965...
Group co-founder Rick Derringer, born Ricky Dean Zehringer, celebrated his 72nd birthday six months ago on August 5th, 2019...

Instrumentals basically same as Hang on Sloopy… love both anyway, obviously
there’s literally nothing original about them. Beatles rip off band.
What a range !
The girls look so much better without the jeans .
Que buena versión, está adaptada a sonar parecido a hang un sloopy
Fever is better than Hang on Sloopy. Can't dance to Sloopy!
You need to see The McCoys early 70s live Sloopy video here on UA-cam. Liz Brewer shows how to dance to Sloopy.
They sound identical. Same drum intro. Same single note guitar .
Rhythm and sound didn't vary much from the successful formula of Sloopy. Easy, lazy way to sell more records.
