Hey bro, I'm planning to buy a 3070 for my z620 workstation, I'm worried weather the single 6 to 8 pin connectors are safe, have you had any problem so far? I would be delighted if you share me the buy link
I have a z440 700w and i used that connector with rx 5700 xt for 2 years and now i am using it with rx 6650 xt no probleme at all even if you stress the pc ti the limits
@DeveshAdhikar quick update i don't know my luck is just bad today the connector stopped working started to smell burnt and pc crash until i saw the yellow connectors burnt so if you are trying to get one try to get high quality one
@@EladEditz your connector wires were most probably not meant for heavy loads, there is certain limit to these adapters, remove the adapter don't go cheap on these ones, buy one from a trusted brand, stress test it for atleast 3-4 hours keeping your case open in case something goes wrong. Man you're lucky that it didn't burnt your gpu like some of my friends
I have an HP Z440, CPU 2667v4, 32GB RAM bus 2400, 700W PSU, and a 2060 Super GPU. I want to replace it with a GALAX GeForce RTX 3070 (1-Click OC). Is that reasonable, and will there be any bottleneck? I look forward to your reply, thank you!
I wanna do the same, except I have a z620, but since zotac 3070 has one six+ one 8 pin, since the z620 has two 6 pins, I'm worried about weather the single 6 to 8 pin connectors are safe
bro what processor are you running on that workstation? I am asking this question cause as you mentioned its a pretty old rig so adding a new gpu might give you a bottleneck ,otherwise congrats on the upgrade.
I would like to do the same thing with the RTX 3060. Now i have the same HP Z440 Workstation, with Intel Xeon E5-1620 v3, Nvidia Quadro K2200 and 32GB of RAM. I am trying to find if it would cause the bottleneck. He might be in same config.
I am using a 2690 v4. I wanted to have more VRAM as I run some AI models locally. I am now running 3090 with this setup to have 24G VRAM. It is helpful for me to load AI models with more parameters.

I ran heavy AI workloads which consumes 100% gpu and 8-10G VRAM and observed no issues so far.

@@jakubvodsedalek941 yes 1620 is bottleneck, buy the 2690 v4 processor and you will be fine even upto 3080 (bottleneck), 3070ti is nice spot
