Sorry, I was not able to see this on Monday, but just finished watching it. A great presentation, thank you for organising it.

Thank you Jack for the presentation.
You have really made this consumable by the lay man (me).
    I have a few questions:
Would it be useful to have a beacon located in orbit around one of the outer planets, that could be used to calibrate the array?
This beacon could have transponder capabilities and 3 or 4 transmiters in S, L, X and Ka/Ku band.
I imagine the ability to lock phase (not of the carrier) across multiple bands could be really useful.
It would not be a point source, which could be an advantage.
How long is each of your 'exposures'? For example, how much data measured in both seconds and Terabytes did you collect for the 'image' of M87?
Is one of the stations a master time source that all the other stations are slaved to?
If so, how do you align the time sources at each station?
Please, correct me if I'm wrong but my guess is that the accuracy of the time source and the fact that the time sources are very accurately synchronised across all the receiving stations is key to all this working. The key.
My mind boggles when I do that back of hand maths with respect to the time source, that is required to do this kind of interferometry at the higher frequencies.
    Thank you again. Amazing!!!

At 35Ghz the period is around 29 pico seconds. Quarter phase resolution would require a timing source of better than 7 pico seconds. My mind is really blown, if this is true.
How are you magicians doing this????
