First off I'M VERY SORRY for the buzzing feedback throughout the video. I did my best to try and get rid of it in post, but I could only do so much. I was having issues with my mic/camera and almost didn't upload the video because of it. I figured the show must go on. If you can't watch because of it I understand. Anyways enjoy the ispods (rollies pollies, pill bugs, potatoe bugs, woodlice) or whatever you like to call them. Personally I like “pill bugs” as that's what we said as kids, but I'm curious what you call them. Let me know! Also check out the video description for links/information.

Super excited to see what you have in mind for the new setup in your animal room, your rebranding, and more pond videos. You have such a smart and creative mind and are always producing something new and exciting for your channel. I struggle with severe anxiety and I am pregnant right now, so it has been even worse. To combat all of the sickness I feel, I watch your videos almost everyday as they relax me and keep my mind off of how I am feeling. Thank you for all that you do and I hope you continue to love creating these wonderful videos!

I've always had a little bit of a fascination with isopods, or, as we call them here in West Virginia, potato bug, and would regularly catch them, and observer them for a little while. But, after learning more and more about them, the fascination had increased tremendously. I never knew there were so many types out there, and they look very different from one another. Anyway, very cool video on the isopods, and I can't wait to see what more you do with your animal room.

@Timothy Newitt I'm no expert, but as far as I can gather, the name is due to their appearance near or on wooden benches, and the fact that they digest and break down wood - often the bench itself. We have several frequently used bench/seating designs that use untreated wooden logs.

My grandson kept bringing them into the house last summer and putting them into all the houseplants!! After watching your videos we are going to do a terrarium project so they will not be escaping!!

I always enjoy your videos. Did you make videos of how you built the racking system? I dont know if I missed it. If you didnt, i would enjoy seeing a detailed video about it!

Here in the UK we call them woodlouse (plural woodlice).
Pill bugs is a fun name... wish I thought of that when I was a kid lol.

Hi Serpa! Because of all of your amazing videos, I set up a bioactive paludarium for my Cuban Knight Anole, Calypso. Everything is going swimmingly except the fact that she ate the Betta fish that was sharing space with her and is now devouring my isopods instead of the food I am trying to feed her lol. I love your fancy isos but I am so afraid that Calypso would just eat them that I have resorted to just catching them and earthworms in my garden instead of buying them.

Can the isopods and springtails climb glass? I ask because I have a nice big glass bowl that I want to use for a terrarium though it doesn't have a lid. The plan is to add them, but if they're just going to climb out, it won't be worth the effort.
