    Check out the rest of our channel for dyno videos, tech, videos and more. We are a shop that designs, machines, and builds engines. We work with all types of power adders including superchargers, nitrous oxide, specializing in turbocharged combinations. We utilize our in-house chassis dyno to get safe and reliable power over several combinations. We work on vehicles powered by multiple different ecus, and engine combinations. From turbo 4g63 setups making 80+ psi of boost, to NA 5.0l mustangs. we don't forget the Chevy guys though, also working on multiple LS engines in multiple swap vehicles using several different types of engine management.

    Thanks for acknowledging the coolness of these motors. I had an 86 Turbo Coupe that I had a blast blowing up a number of times.

    Id watched this video repeatedly - excited because I recently bought an XR4TI. Went to look into tuners in my state and was stunned to see a very familiar logo! My build up wont be quite as ambitious as I only drive on streets - but looking into upgrading ECU (Pimpx), tune, running upgraded fuel lines (-6 AN PTFE), and putting in bigger injectors (80ish maybe).

    1:47 stock xr4tis didn't get top mount intercoolers like the svo mustang and turbo coupe.

    These and the Mustang/Capri Turbos did not have intercoolers. Others already mentioned this for the XR4Ti but, I thought I would throw in the other's who shared the power plant. The higher powered SVO and Turbo Coupes needed the intercoolers to run the higher boost. Regarding the "heat sink" mounting of the SVO intercooler, bear in mind that the Porsche 934, 935, and others along with the F40 Ferrari and others likewise ran intercoolers in similar positions.

    I have an almost identical setup, but with the 2.1X Boport cam. Unfortunately no dyno shops in my area to get any performance numbers. Would appreciate knowing at what boost level the 292 HP was reached, what size fuel pump was used, and what were signs fuel pump was insufficient.

    • @ForceEngineering
      @ForceEngineering  2 роки тому +2

      This was so long ago i dont remember the boost level, or what pump was in it. Sign of the pump being insufficient would have been fuel pressure falling when fuel required (is boost/rpm) were increased.

      @@ForceEngineering Thanks for info. I run a 155 lph pump when seems everyone recommends a 255. I haven't checked wide open fuel pressure but do maintain a safe A/F ratio at redline & 20lbs boost, so far...

      @@johnmcmullen456 without a gauge, when fuel pressure is a problem, youll also notice VE climbing at the higher map/rpm areas. Youll raise ve and the resulting AFR wont change as mich as youd expect. When that happens its time to put a gauge on it.

      I would get a walbro 255 and never worry about it. Be sure to upgrade the wiring as that is a issue that is slept on. New pump requires some better wiring to keep up with the power. Realistcally a 190 pump will support most of the power a 2.3T will put out with some modifications to it.

      moderate camshaft, ported head and required fuel mods for that hp/fuel type. biggest thing to reliability is the tuning.

      Not to much, this setup is bit more invested than mine but, i have stock turbo, simple mods, ranger cam, bigger injectors, ported intakes, 5.0 throttle body, ported E6 exhaust manifold, la3 ecu with a bit harsher timing for the lima, and my 85 makes 213whp on 19lbs. If i went with a pimp ecu, and t3/t4 hybird turbo, probably would see more up towards 250whp+. Also big valve head and port job as well. Also yes they eat head gaskets but you can over torque the head to compensate.
