The second Kenshi first appeared in an MK1 trailer, I was like "That's Noah." Later I read he also did a lot of the mocap and reference material. I should have known that they gave him creative control when I saw Smoke with a karambit.
Smoke with the Panther's Claw/Tiger's Claw Knife. And the reason why the karambit is called the Panther's Claw Knife or sometimes the Tiger's Claw Knife is because the blade is shaped like a Panther's Claw/Tiger's Claw.

That creative freedom he had with Smoke really payed off. He's my main (because I missed him since he was last playable in mk9) and it feels like there are almost no useless moves in his set.
Smoke is super cool and he's kinda playable in MKX but as a robot and it's not quite the same. I like this version of Smoke very much!
Sure! But the usefulness has nothing to do with the look of the moves. Noah was in charge of mo cap not the data of the move set

For me I first noticed as obviously Kenshi is based on Noah's look but it was actually Smoke axe kick ender they showed here is when I noticed he was doing Mocap, the way Noah moves his upper body is fairly unique to how it's usually thrown

I love the way Fire God Liu Kang looked in MK11, but Fire God Liu Kang in Mortal Kombat 1 (2023) looks FANTASTIC. Also, I love the addition of blue fire, even the way he shoots out his Dragons🐉🔥

Its really fitting with how Noah used alot of checks with Smokes karambit. The fluidity of his motions resembled actual smoke, being shapeless. That's pretty badass

Yes and No he's always been pretty popular in the stunt man martial arts action community. Gameology kinda more so boosted his career.
Best technique he pulled off was that he worked so close to MK1 for more than 3 years ago and he didn't tell anybody.
He did the Mocap for all the ninjas, he might wanna start the playlist in this channel on breaking down how he did all the new experiments with his take on all the characters.
This was awesome. And Noah knocked it out of the park with the MoCap.

@@Synclon Japanese fighting game mostly prefer doing it with their own local martial artist. reason is probably the costs of hiring anyone outside japan.
Tekken def makes the most sense due to the fluidity of the fighting styles and mechanics. MK of course and if they ever do Virtua Fighter again @@NoahFleder
its impressive alone that he dos a lot of the motion capture but the fact that they used his likeness for kenshi as well is just the icing on top.

I've never actually seen motion capture before so I had NO idea some studf was stitched together and wasn't just as is! Crazy to learn how stuff works behind the scenes! I thought these games were all made with computers only!

I really appreciate the detail they go into describing the specialised techniques and martial prowess applied to a disciplined practicioner like Liu Kang, meanwhile some characters like Shao are all 'Haha hold this axe' and then there's Havik ripping himself apart to hit you.

The Dancing Dragon actually looks pretty close to Kung Lao's Whirlwind Kicks special from Deadly Alliance (also an evolution of the bicycle kick because Liu Kang was dead at the time.)
Yeah dude, the Dancing Dragon is my absolute favourite move in the entire game.
As soon i saw the Kenshi trailer I thought to myself "he looks like Noah". Was so happy to know that it was actually Noah. Not only gave him cool moves, but a handsome face too

The first move he recreated was just slightly inaccurate since it was a corkscrew cross to a lead kick. He did like a corkscrew lead hook into his lead kick

He confirmed he did mocap capture for 8 MK characters - Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Reptile, Raiden, Smoke, Liu Kang, Kenshi and Kung Lao.
I've done Kung fu for over 30 years and there is absolutely nothing wrong with style mixing and making you're own moves thats called evaluation 🙂

I’ll be honest and say I wasn’t a fan of Lou kang’s style change from mk 11 to 1, I really appreciated his more Bruce Lee aesthetic moves before.
