- Seiko Prospex “King Turtle” Ceramic Bezel Watch Review | aBlogtoWatch
Ariel Adams of aBlogtoWatch reviews the Seiko Prospex “King Turtle” watch lineup (Refs. SRPE03/SRPE05/SRPE07). Standout features include ceramic rotating bezel inserts - a first for the Prospex Turtle collection (previous bezels were made of aluminum) - as well as more intricate dial designs and a rectangular day/date magnifier on the sapphire crystal. The 45mm stainless steel case houses Seiko’s in-house 4R36 automatic movement which offers 41 hours of power reserve and operates at 3Hz. Pricing is $595 USD on the rubber strap, and $625 USD on the bracelet.

I received the blue dial model(Save the Ocean edition) as a Valentines' Day present and I'm very happy with it.
It's a beautiful watch. Enjoy!
The shark fin detail on the blue dial is a sweet little addition. Turtles are fantastic watches. They wear so well that it is hard to believe they are priced so low. Sometimes companies just get it right and keep it right over time. They honor the legacy.

I love the ceramic bezel! And the candy bar magnifier don’t bother me none, I actually like it, especially on the latest gen monster.
The green one is the best and coolest one in my opinion!
Decent introduction to the watch. The bracelet and how well the watch keeps time would be interesting points to add in future reviews. Keep up the good work :)
Mine runs 8 seconds slow a day.
Bellissima recensione bravo...👍
love it! its beautiful
Would have loved to see some strap options
I guess these versions are nicer but I’m ok with my old SRP 777 if it had the next step up movement maybe so.
Nice
Is the strap on the SRPE03 any good ?
i like turtles
i like u😁
I bought the black dial this week from a local jeweller with the steel bracelet, but I really wanted the rubber strap which it didn't come with.maybe if I sell it in the future it will be more desirable but I doubt it as the bracelet does nothing to enhance the shape and colour of the watch.ps I put it on a rubber waffle strap now your talking.😁
Why doesn’t anyone mention the bezel grip? It’s appears to be different than the standard turtle. Is it better?
I bought one a few months ago and really enjoy the cushion case and the bezel grip is great, better than my Samurai.
Its better
All black pls.
Hello. What do you think of this watch on a 6.5 inch wrist? Will it be too big? Or will the small lugs make it conform well? I’m in the process of either getting a Mini or a King Turtle very soon!
6.5 wrist is border line to too big on wrist go for the mini.
Just noticed your post was 11 months ago did you buy one?
@@leath25 I did. I went for the mini. I’m glad I did!
How many clicks is the bezel? Some say 60 click and some say 120 clicks.
Why is the 6r15 a better movement than this 4r36?
Accuracy, components and power reserve are better.
They had all the the right ingredients from *the great white edition*(SBDY031).The foundation was there.
They should have just removed the circular pattern from the bezel ,add the color scheme of the srp777 and remove the "save the ocean"motif. Put an ar coated treated sapphire crystal, fit a proper 22mm diver bracelet worthy of a toolwatch and sort the alignment issues.Done.500-600 USmax.Done.
These prices are just obscene and seiko is taking advantage of their customers and fanbase.
Hello.what do you think of this watch on are 8.5 inch wrist?will it be too big?
Lugs are 22mm??
Ye
Yes
no mention of the 07's shark fin or the second hand counter balance at all...what kinda review is this?
i want the green dial but i want a black strap and the chain. I like the black dial too. Im stuck.
Nice watch. I would never buy another 4R movement. Just not worth it, it is a real pain if you have many watches.
Whats wrong with 4r movement?
No hacking. Setting the Date and Day is a pain. I do love the brand, just stick to a 6R or higher.
@@stevenschiff808 4r35 and 4r36 already have hacking function CMIIW
@@afiffayadhvictory Well what do you know. Thanks.
@@stevenschiff808 it has hacking and handwinding, and setting the day and date isn't really difficult.
That movement is a HUGE dealbreaker. They should have updated the movement.
No sapphire?
There is a sapphire crystal
It is Sapphire
im done with seiko, just wont pay that much for an NH36 movement , misaligned chapter ring, horrible bracelet - the cheap asian brands offer more quality for the $
you can buy them now for 420$ on ebay with warranty etc.... not so bad of a deal IMO
@@claudeschmid1631 $363 now, shipped with warranty. Highly considering it now haha
