I have one myself and I really love what you did to yours. I at one point never had one. Always wanted one when I was a kid. However these toys r expensive my goodness.
That’s one cool custom of a classic GI Joe vehicle! The Joes’ Hovercraft was always one of my favorites! I still remember coming home from Toys R Us with it and how happy I was to have it. Nice work and very creative!
That is great work. I am planning on making a lot of GI Joe vehicles into radio controlled vehicles. I am right now looking for a local radio control shop, that I don't have to go to eBay for that for ducted fan motors that doesn't come from China, and take 2 to 3 weeks for delivery. I have the 50th Anniversary of Silent Strike F14 Tomcat, the Cobra Scythe F14, Cobra Hiss, Vamp, RAM Motorcycle, Dreadnok Thunder Machine, Battle Bear, Cobra FANG, Skyhawk, Swampmasher, and looking at getting the Cobra Mamba, and others. I plan on making 2 USS Flagg float , and also be remote control to launch not only aircraft from the flight deck, but to also launch water craft from the hangar.
not bad a bad custom build I like a lot of your improvements. I would have kept the duel guns on the turrets, and the missile launchers though. I like firepower.
hello I ´am Victor from mexico city. my cuestion is how to make, start buton machine and put electric motor in to Hover craft /Killer. and how to paint to killer. I use tamiya paints is a good a idea. what you paints do use ??
It's a little too complicated to explain. I might make a video and post it, keep an eye on my page. The paint I use is Krylon Fusion, made for use on plastics without the need of a primer.
I don't, sorry. I only do customs for myself from time to time and I'm actually very lazy and sometimes just abandon many projects. I'm lucky to have finished this.
Quest Adam I was wondering the same thing. I know the original toy floated great, so this modified one should too unless he drilled holes, or the batteries are too heavy?
Thanks Quest Adam. It will still float. However the propellers are not designed in a way to move the volume of air needed to create thrust, so it wont move it. The force from the propellers feels like a standard PC cooling fan.
Bastian, there are no alterations to the exterior of the Whale Hull. All modifications are internal. It uses 2 D batteries, adding some weight, but not enough to sink it.
Cool! So now you just need to install some real fan blades, and make the directional blade/wing things on the back remote functional! Haha.... get on it man!

Now that is a true fan. I mean you, for putting so much attention into this custom. Great job and the extra stuff is perfect.
Thanks!

That is SO cool. Good job on that masterpiece!
That’s amazing! Great work.
Looks awesome man! If I were you I would have installed a variable potentiometer for the motor, so you can adjust the speed of the propellers.
this needs a how to video
If you sold that, I hope you got $1k for it, because that's a helluva job you did on this fine vehicle.
Truly something to see!

@@GIJoeRega Will do. I will post it on my channel as I make it, when I can do it.
Sooo badass!
Looks cool I would not touch it,but it looks awesome, great job
Cool 😎
my fiend congratulations , you are a profesional
Love the changes, but I noticed you didn't show the interior. Did you think about painting the inside and the details within?
I thought about it... But decided not to. I did paint the interior on the other one. However, I didn't do any specific detailing, just one color.
Navy blue would have been great.
AMAZING! I'M JEALOUS! But then I customized my Killer W.H.A.L.E. as well (though not to the degree of yours)
That really looks good I love the colors it makes it look like a brand new toy
If ya like this one check the other one out on my page.
will do
Yeah, but can it still operate on water, with the custom electronics?
Yes, but "OG" Fan Blades don't create enough Thrust no matter how fast they spin, so it won't propel the W.H.A.L.E..
grats bro!
Does it float ?
Yes!
GREAT, just GREAT!
This is amazing
cool
wonderful
This is really nice!

You did not open or show the sled.
I did away with the Sled, was never a fan of it.

Nice! Yo Joe!
precioso custom
very nice!!
So when you put this WHALE on water and turn on the fans, does she move under her own propulsion?
Do you do commission work? I’m am artistically inclined and could never attempt a project like that.
I don't, sorry. I only do customs for myself from time to time and I'm actually very lazy and sometimes just abandon many projects. I'm lucky to have finished this.
The Cannons look pretty messed-up.
I like the look.
You are unbelievably talented. But I'm curious, does it actually float and if it does will it move with the propellers on ?
