Dude the start of that second verse has stuck with me for a decade. Starting at 2:08 he completely reinvents the concept of how a bar's lyric time signature is typically displayed in flow in a way I've never heard before by using his rhyme and cadence alone. A masterful display of syncopation. Absolutely genius.
I click on aes songs as soon as I see em, don't matter what I'm doin, gotta hear this shit.
As a fan for 10+ years now I've often considered righting Ace a fan letter. But I don't know where I'd write, or what I'd say.
Just speak from your heart. That’s what he’ll appreciate more than anything. The one thing that has never changed about Aes over the past 20+ years is his genuine authenticity. He’s as real as it gets!
Do it, get back to us if he replies 📝😃
Dude, same. I just want to tell him thank you. The amount of times I've listened to the song Daylight is no joke, and that's just that song. I've listened to him since 2010. He's influenced my music taste vastly, and thus, he has influenced me. He should know how he's helped people like us.
TDL, I have a solid Rhymesayers contact who’s pretty high up in the organization. Let me reach out to him and see what he advises. Might not result in much of anything, but I’ll try and at least see how he recommends you best reach out to him. We might need to email, but let me see what he says, and I’ll get back w/ you. Seems like you only have really sincere, genuine intentions, so I’m more than willing to try.
@@austinmonroe3894 Much appreciated dude. He's been my favorite artists since I was in middle school, aha. Now I'm an old fogey at 32.
This is the most meaningful song ever made to me. That horn sample goes all the way to my soul, and then of course Aesop with the lyrical brilliance. This era of Aesop Rock was something special that most dont even know about.
Just discovered Aesop like a month ago and I’m enjoying the hell out of every album he’s released including this goddamn gem
Oh man..... Im almost jealous, Appleseed, Float, and Labor Days are some of my favorite works of music and poetry ever created.
Daylight and Nightlight, play them back to back.
I can't get over how nostalgic this makes me. Skateboarding in Houston Texas 16yo jamming to Appleseed on my iPod nano. Time flies.
amazing
@@lockshabaz1876 ya man that was in 2010 I think. Time flies. Still jammed to Appleseed out in Afghanistan !
@@siprianosolis yo I’m 18 just picked up skating big aes fan out here in England
@@OracleTheRonin enjoy it man! I remember listening to "take my hand" by dark time sunshine on repeat when I did stairs and gaps
@@siprianosolis Was the track released in 2010 ? 🙏
It’s amazing how much his music and style transformed over the decades
He went from being the one of the best to the best!
HOLY SHIT - they added Appleseed to Spotify let's fucking go!
Leave it up to Aes to save a brother from the edge.
right on
This makes me feel drunk high and 25.
hey thats what i am now

One of my favorite tracks, Appleseed never gets old.
This couldn’t have come at a better moment, lost in torrential stress and times rougher than sharkskin this is the fuel and foliage that gives me encouragement to keep the spark lit within.
Aes is you see this let me dye some clothes for you, three hots & a cot and I’d gladly do that shit for free
sharkskin is tough but smooth, brother. try it on.
Did Aes write this song about how nobody understands the profundity of his songs, for people who don’t understand his songs?
GOAT
Man this track takes me soooo far back. Homie bought this album out of a trunk when it first dropped and been jamming it ever since
One of his best oldies
Such a creepy yet beautiful beat, and that Dose chorus, damn!
Its insane that only 1400 people out of the 8 billion on earth have liked this.
One of my all time favorites.
OH MAN THIS IS A CLASSIC BUMPED THIS MORE THAN INSOMNIACS COUNT SHEEP JUMPIN
Shit that takes me back. I expected a new track, wasn’t disappointed.
This a throw back. I remember listening to this everyday skateboarding across New Orleans in the early 2000s.
This was the track that dragged me into the rabbit hole of aesop, that and the fables, thank you
Labor Days feel, thank you for the trip back in time Aes
Happy Birthday to whom it may apply! Have a great day!
Happy bday to you 2 beautifull
Uhh I love this old school Aesop.
Take em back to Appleseed Ian. Some of these new cats don't know
I didn't and I'm happy to hear this now
I can meditate to this. Aes never disappoints.
Me too
One fucking day!! I feel honored. AES is the truth. One of Long Islands finest!!
I remember nabbing this off napster about 20 years ago. Such a great beat. Brings me right back. Thanks Aesop. My kids love Larry. Sorry if this makes us all feel dated and old!
This is the aes I know; back to the roots.
Been listening to aesop since 2004 ever since I had my first acid trip, and that at age 15 and after not agreeing with drug except lsd i have not found anything lyrically relatable as i always find with ace. All his songs are an experience and take you into the deep spaces of your mind.
💥 He's back! 🎼💘
this is fire af
One of my favorite tapes ever released, thankful for your craft Mr. Bavitz.
This shit changed my life the first time I heard it........ gta listen to the whole Appleseed now.....
Hearing this remastered is insane
Only started listening to Aes about 3 years ago and I've somehow never heard this or the last song they put out by him before. Figured this isn't new though, has a classic Labor Days vibe, love finding these good ones though after all these years
Bassoon in rap is the new meta
Finalllllyyyyyyy

Eminem: I'm the best white rapper.
Aesop Rock: hold the cup.
El-P, Mac Miller, Aesop Rock are all better than Shady
Eminem? Is he still talking shit about his mom??
@@pietro12x and RA the Rugged Man
Em a great technical rapper but when it comes to subject matter and content Aes is on another level lol
@@pietro12x yes i agree, lil peep Ghostemane and §uicideBoys

Such an old song but still hits hard in 2021
Loved appleseed. Way ahead of its time. Oh please tell me there's going to be a release of mysic for earthworms in my lifetime.
After hearing that "My name is driftwood" line, I'm starting to wonder if Tim Kasher from Cursive is an Aesop fan 🤔

@@tomhatherford3283 ohhhh then yes I’m very excited too sorry I’ve just seen so many comments from people thinking this is a new project
This one convinced me to buy some shrooms
Funny because the first thing that ever turned me on to Aesop Rock 2004 was antisocial and then look at this song coming out damn man I've been listening to him since I was 18 years old I'm 35 now when I was 18 I felt like I was the f****** man because I knew about Aesop Rock Mr lift cannibal ox and all them man you guys have changed my life I'm so happy to have met you and then I'll never forget that Orlando probably about 10-15 years ago me and you went got a hot dog together. Word up
Shout out Doseone on the vocals
Yes!! Dose never gets credit.. Odessa is the song that introduced me to him (almost 20 years ago now) an he and aesop been the top of the heap since
@@davego2160 yeah dose and aes are dope together . There's also that track on float with the Asian sounding sample that's dope af with both them
This goes fucking crazy
👊👊👊
Call me in 20 when those bubbles explode
Ace is the place where I spend my bandwidth,
Got other sellout scraping at the white whale for ahabs sandwich,
Everyone out here killing each other
All animals are equals,
But this Animal is more equal than others
Low fat multi grain cellophane draino
Laughing his ass off like Captian Insano
We say so.
Pushing trees, look at me
Catch a fish, cook a tree
When we die then we see
What we all had to be
Ace is the face of the sound of the underground
Hiding in the woods of Oregon when he can't be found
Some say Ace not on the radio is heinous,
But it sure beats the hell out of being famous.
Are you guys rereleasing, this? I would so buy that.
It's on vinyl
@@tacobelldriver Oh, I do, like vinyl . . . But I'm so more a CD, guy, so. Oh, well.
