I was expecting at least one from a new era of corruption specifically the lead on reprogrammed to hate when Phil was doing the highest vocals of any album to date but would’ve loved seeing him show off the main riff from messiahbolical from this is exile. Still one of my favorite songs they’ve made
I have been in a pretty bad valley of crippling depression the past three months. And it only existed due to not having enough 4 levels of death metal to watch. Now I'm sh***ing rainbows.
Ben specifically said that it would be of their recent riffs. I'm sure that if he really wanted to, he could pick up some much harder riffs from their discography.
Would love to see Bill from Mastodon! He’s been on Ben Eller’s channel before so I bet he’d be game. Lots of weird ass Mastodon riffs. Also the boys from TAS!
At 11:35, Ben says that’s its an owl. It’s actually a bird called a Mourning Dove. Their call sounds exactly like that. Just a small bit of information. Love the videos guys!!
I don't know if you have contacts with one of those bands but an episode with one of the following bands would be crazy. They all have sick riffs and there's possibility to have easy and very hard riffs : -the black dahlia murder -mors est principium -ouroboros Thanks for the episode Dean and Claire !
Excellent video as always! Also, it's cool hearing about Dean's speech therapy (and success in therapy) since I'm currently in school studying communication science and speech disorders. My uncle had a stutter and speech therapy helped him greatly. Communication theory and speech science is tyte AF. Glad it was useful in your life!
I'm not a huge fan of Whitechapel, but I randomly got to meet them backstage at some music festival and I have to say they were the some of nicest dudes ever. Also a they had a great sense of humor. Definitely more of a fan after meeting them.
@𝕻𝖊𝖘𝖙⸸𝖑𝖊𝖓𝖙 actually IA tunes to Drop A with the 8th string on E and Black Tongue tunes to Double Drop C on Nadir and Double Drop D on their other albums and EPs
I love that this series can go on basically indefinitely. SO much talent out there. :) Also...First fragment...beyond creation...obscura...equipoise...allegaeon...ne ob... kthxbyeeeee
It’s Friday night here in New Zealand and I haven’t laughed so hard in ages, those legs man and the owl singing, so pure. Wish you all were here hahaha
This was awesome! I wish that Ben would have included some songs from their first two albums: The Somatic Defilement and This Is Exile. They're my favorite.
@@OlExtraRegularBass I respectfully disagree about this is exile being garbage. I feel like Whitechapel has gotten softer and less brutal over the years. I feel like the anger and suffering behind the first couple of albums are no longer there, or have lessened. I wouldn't be surprised if they played the new stuff on the radio. This saddens me.
@@DamonOfHouseFL I responded to you and said the same thing you're responding to because I didn't read it. They have only gotten steadily worse for me after getting signed. The demos were the peak of the band, and as a band founded on the Jack the Ripper legend I think songs about scene unity are FAR too out there to forgive. You have your opinion, I'll have mine.
@UCeNPJ1lSxjtTDFf8Sig1E0w It's all good, everyone is entitled to their opinion. If you didn't like their first two albums, that's perfectly Ok. I've met other people that don't care for them either.
Omg it’s so cool that the lost boy riff is based on an owl. That’s just beautiful. One of my fave Whitechapel songs. I saw them in Des Moines just last month.
I'm from Maryville Tennessee where the band originated from. Gabe the bassist(if he still is),.....his mom and mom were friends. My mom was a 6-8th special ed teacher and Gabe went to High School next door where she taught at William Blount. Unless I was ill informed. Legit the very first metal band to make it outta Maryville TN.
Excited to watch this! I've been listening to WC since they released This is Exile back in 2008. Will say, haven't listened very heavily on the new stuff, not too big on clean singing.
YO, do one with Despised Icon next. Some of their riffs are pretty tricky but they have quite some manageable riffs too, so you can still fill up two thirds of the video with crow bullshit. Loved the video, keep it up.
Right after the sad burp at 14:51 or so i got an ad that started, "DO YOU HAVE A PACK OF HOTDOGS IN YOUR KITCHEN? THROW IT IN THE TRASH!" And i lost my shit lmao
This is phenomenal. Started listening to Whitechapel in high school with the album "This is Exile". I'd recommend checking out some songs off that for some wild contrast to their new stuff (in a good way). Keep up the good work!
I'm new here, and I'm seriously questioning, wtf have I been at. I was laughing the same time and at awe from the guitar playing! Thank you guys and Ben, as well, I really look forward to more content!! 🙏👊🤘
Ben is so relatable here, any time I'm around a camera my brain becomes a smooth cube
A smooth cube...
...I like that so much.
I've never heard anyone say that before haha.

david mace, brother of dean mace
It's been a year and those dogs legs still fuckin get me every time.
I think he nailed the progression of difficulty. Was expecting to see some stuff from This is Exile though.
I understand why he wanted to pick songs for the new album, but was equally gutted.
Ditto
yeah, the technical riffs are definitely easier to find on their first 2 albums

Yeah man, I remember seeing Alex’s playthrough of Vicer here on YT and was certain they’d pick a riff from there
This is absolute fucking chaos I love it haha
Claire losing her shit had me in tears. 🤣
I have been in a pretty bad valley of crippling depression the past three months. And it only existed due to not having enough 4 levels of death metal to watch. Now I'm sh***ing rainbows.
Wish there were more riffs from their older stuff like Possession or This is Exile
Yeah I was kinda disappointed they have a lot harder riffs then these
@@FSUaustin92 oh for sure. I remember trying to play the verse riff in Possession and it kicked my ass for awhile lol

Or Vicer Exciser that song has riffs
Don't foget the somatic defilement
This is the funniest shit I’ve seen In a hot minute
I cried laughing alongside Claire XD
You gotta try to get Brian Eschbach from Black Dahlia to do this. His riffage is just nasty.
Yes please
Yes times infinity
Dude yes..
Fuck yes!!
So underrated since his lead guys are who they are
Man the Camera quality, Lighting and Color Grading has really Improved and is really nice and Crisp.
Also great video as usual. Thanks you guys.

Bill would be a great guest on this show. Mastodon has so many bizarre yet really sick riffs.
Yes please!
This!
That's a great idea, i can easily see the Bedazzled fingernails riff as a level 3 or even 4 riff
Yea please! They also have a new album coming out this month.
This is the best series ever. Never stop doing these. (Dogs legs passes frame)

Honestly metal needs more owl riffs. Metal is sorely missing our owly brethren.
Rivers of Nihil understood the lack of owls in metal
Agreed!
Right?! Too many ravens and not enough owls!
Not an owl sound. Mourning dove. He wrote a song about a mourning dove.
Thanks for letting us share in your fun and laughter. Appreciate the music and the smiles
7:20... had to pause and go find the Revocation 4LoDM... how'd I miss this?? Love that riff :D
Clearly there needs to be an episode of learning Rock n' Roll solos.

Same
So glad this series is back! You guys keep getting better. That text message clip was goddamn hilarious.
Eddie Pickard from Infant annihilator & black tongue would be cool to see, He's sooooo fucking good.
Would be cool but I don't think that they would tune their guitars to drop triple Q or whatever tuning black tongue uses

Guys, get Jake from Disentomb. His riffs on Misery and The Decaying Light are next level. It took me days to learn one song. Insanity.
