This is the best review on this display I have seen yet! No one else out there has given this display the review and attention this set deserves. For all who don't already know, this is the display(in 42 & 48 inch size) that any true videophile would take over any other... This set is the one that most people would want but couldn't afford. I have the 48" A90K and let me tell you this... For the price of what I paid for this I could have gotten a 48" LG C2 WITH an XBOX One Series X console AND a 2 year Best Buy Geek Squad extended warranty! This goes to show you just how beautiful, perfect and a marvel of engineering this Master series is! I was willing to sacrifice so much JUST so I could get this display... Now... All I need to do is save up for the series X console to have the full package! A word of warning. This display is so ridiculously awesome that there should be a warning label on the box about the addiction this display causes! I find myself VERY disappointed with any other TV I view content or game on. I am consistently wanting to retreat to my bedroom to see this set in action again. And this is coming from someone who has an S95b in my living room! Don't get me wrong, both sets are wonderful at what they do(A90K & S95b) but I find the color depth and accuracy/realism to be richer and more "life-like" on the A90K with the XR cognitive processor than Samsungs' tech on their S95B. If you are in the market for either a 42" or a 48" size UHD HDR set and you REALLY do want the BEST, this is it... Do not think any longer and compare no more! The King has returned!

Thanks so much. Few days ago, I decided to purchase this model to replace my old led TV. When I connected my old soundbar Sony HT RT3, it’s gave me unexpect surprises. It’s stronger and 3D effect more clear. I don’t know how Sony doing it.
Good review, I appreciate that you compare this TV to its peers and give a casual overview of aspects of the TV that the typical buyer cares about. I've never had bad luck with a Sony product, so I'm headed out to buy this set before move-in. Appreciate your videos on this specific TV set. I'll use this space to give some video criticism for improving production value. ---Use a gimbal to stabilize the video when you are moving around the camera. Not only does it reduce shakiness but it reduces blur. ---Consider some studio lighting when you are showing small parts of the TV and when you're in front of the camera. Good lighting makes all the difference. ---Consider popping up text in the video to display the model numbers/listings for TVs you refer to in the video. That way people can pause and look up relevant information themselves without the need to take valuable time to explain specifications and/or be left with questions. ---Consider some motion/panning shots for B-roll. It is good that you include stills where you can focus on the picture/color quality, but for more generalized parts of the script, the still shots can get a bit boring. Even consider taking videos of relevant packaging/equipment used with TVs to use for B-roll as well. Furthermore, it makes for an excuse to split up otherwise long scenes of video roll. ---Transitions! Nothing too tacky or gaudy, just smooth transitions that make scene switches feel natural. This is coming from someone who has done/does video productions/editing themselves. Obviously much of this is easier said than done. Hope those points make sense haha✌
Thank you so much. I will consider everyone of these bullet points that you mentioned, I want to make sure I am grand for the 2023 year run on TV sets. Thank you for your time to help me.
I had my sony A90K 42 inch for a week now i have no regrets coming from the LG C2 oled 42 inch the picture quality is better for console gaming and movies
@@MaxAndersonn I know why you ended up returning the C2 cause honestly that is a better PC monitor then this A90K. I was considering the A90K but I'm really liking my C2 more then I thought I would which I had for a week now. I also have a 77" A80J and I love that too. I would consider myself a Sony fanboy but LG did step it up this year tho as their processing is a lot better. I have both consoles plus a PC and it's nice to have all hdmi ports to be 2.1. The built-in aspect ratio selector is a game changer tbh.
I found your channel about half a year ago because I was looking for reviews on the silverstone GD09B case, and yours was pretty much the only one. Typing to you now from my HTPC built in that same case, which I love. Even though I never really cared about TVs, for some reason I'm still watching your videos, I guess because you're just such a great presenter. I hope to be able to invest in a high-end home theater one day, and I'm happy to gather info on the topic from you in the mean time. Just wanted to say that I'm really enjoying the content and appreciate all of the grind you put in.
Watched this on my A95K lol, The A90K is a beautiful tv, I’m surprised Sony didn’t do bigger sizes for this tv. But i would go for this tv for the bedroom. Great review as usual, keep up the awesome work. 👏👏
I absolutely loved this review. It's a true review because you've used the TV for many hours, and you actually live with it. You're not sending it back to Sony or Best Buy etc. I'm glad you mentioned the screen finish, and HDMI 2.1 connectivity. I see so many people online confused about those features, but hopefully this review will help them out. Keep it up! I'd like to see more reviews from you in the future.
I bought one too on Cyber Monday so I have had the tv for two days. I have been watching sports and Star Trek. I love the build quality and picture and audio are amazing. Good review
Great great review TKK. The A90K look's like a beautiful well built tv which it should be being Master Series set. But again great review my brother and keep the excellent videos rolling.
Just watched before leaving for work, much appreciated in depth review! Like others have said already not much out about this model vs the c2. Going to give the 42" a shot! 48 would be too big for my pc desk. I had my eye on the c2 but I have always thought Sony improves on picture clarity vs lg. Great video and review 👏
@@AllAboutTKKHi mate, i live in italy, i bought a 48 inch of this a90k. the colors are spectacular both the depth of black and that of light. but I noticed one thing ... the game's input lag, in this case on assassin's creed valhalla ... now I'm undecided whether to switch with a LG C2 48 or 55 '' ... what would you recommend?
Great thorough review. Glad that it is calibrated out of the box, cuz I dont know much about messing around with those settings. Been thinking about whether or not to pull the trigger on this one. I been sitting on a 42in 4K from Costco that I got for under $200 on Black Friday. It's good for what it is, but I wanted to upgrade the better picture quality to go with my PS5. The video makes me confident about purchasing , and i got several gift cards to put towards this tv so i wont drop the full amount $$. Thanks for making the video!
Another great review TKK, not that I expect less from you. A lot of people are having problems with the s95b including my boy who decided to go for the s95b when I went for the a95k because he wanted the s95b which he thought was value for money. His TV doesn't turn on anymore, that is after having to exchange his panel 6 times already. I told him I would rather paid a premium and have the Sony which I knew would be worth it, because it will work as intention and Sony is reliable. I paid £3000 and he paid £2600. Both models are the 65inch versions of each TV and he though he had the better deal saving £400, now he wish he had gone for the Sony instead. You can't put price on reliability and it is better to buy the right tv even if it for a premium knowing it will be fit for purpose and you will have your peace of mind. All that hassle he went through could have been avoided, a lesson to be learnt here people cheaper isn't always better.
Louder!! Everybody needs to understand how horrible Samsung's QC is for their products, if they even have one at all! Not a TV, but my sister's Galaxy S20+, a $600 flagship phone from 2020, had horrible green line issue like many other units had. It was, in fact, a well-known widespread issue for this particular unit, and majority of the users who experienced it have gotten poor customer service from Samsung in their respective regions. I'm not surprised that this has happened to your bro's S95B TV, tho I do feel sorry about it. People only look at the surface level and say that something is much better in value proposition just because it costs less, when in reality, it could be just a mask-up to hide the horrible imperfections of the product, which would lead us to spend more money for repair than to simply get the more expensive but high-quality one. I'm definitely confident that your A95K would still be alive and kicking after a decade because of how Sony conservatively limited its peak brightness to 1000 nits while also having heatsink at the same time.
@@dannyweiss9701 On new A95Ks several retailers were running a , now finished,10% discount promotion plus there was also a £100 cashback via redemption. Currently there is just the £100 cashback.
But tbh I can understand the thought of your friend. In Germany the price difference is very big. The S95B was already on sale and lowered in price. The A95K is still very very expensive because it is just a few months out, was never on sale and of course bc its a Sony. We all want the sensation of QD Oled, so some go for the budget option, but I 1000% agree that Samsung always has many quirks.. Sony is PREMIUM and their quality control is soo much better. Never had a problem with a Sony product.
@@TheGodfather1022 I am waiting for the release of the Panasonic LZ2000. Out of the box, Vincent of HDTVTest said it was the most accurate OLED TV he had tested. He has promised a review once 200 hours have been achieved. One retailer is quoting a price of £2899 for the 65" model.
Gaming is really big for me. I think I'll stick with the LG series oled for now. Picture quality doesn't matter if when you play the game it doesn't feel right. Plus I have Xbox, PS5 and PC so I would prefer to have 4 hdmi 2.1 ports. Thank you for the review!
Thanks again TKK! Recommendation on reviews... Always do motion handling, Posterization (Color Banding) & Reflection handling including ambient lighting & flashlight test. The BigBoyZ seem to gloss over these highly important specs imho. Thanks for your passion and interactivity with your community! U Roc!
Very good and informative review-much appreciated. Is there a way to output sound from the S center jack?I have an old Nakamichi amplifier and would like to be able to use it with the TV.I am aware i can get the sound both ways from the hdmi arc port, just wondering.Be well and thanx in advance
A90K "S-Center" (different than on A95K), from Sony rep: "The BRAVIA Acoustic Center Sync or S-Center speaker input on the TV allows you to connect with our compatible Sony soundbar/audio system such as HT-A9($2k), HT-A7000($1,300), and HT-A5000($900) to the TV for enhanced audio playback using the TV as a center channel speaker in a multi-channel setup." So, it's not the same as the A95K "center channel speaker" feature: A set of spring terminals to accept center channel audio from an A/V receiver through normal speaker cables.
There it is! And thank you, none of this is included though probably spoken to in its manual, thank you for this comment, certainly this will help some person who will see it eventually.
looking at this and the a9s, my use case will be pc/mac (for work and music) as well as movie watching, and some ps5 gaming. really tempted to grab this a90k up, but the a9s at $800 looks quite enticing.
The yellow port can be used in conjunction with a Sony soundbar a3000,a5000 or a7000 and the tv can be used as a center along with the sound bar center. I have a a5000 the cable comes in the box with the SB and you must enable that feature in the SB settings for it to work. It's an Awesome feature. I own the a80J from last year and it's compatible with that feature.
Understood, learned this from my A95K. Am using the a5000 on it, in my bedroom setup (videos up) More to come on that as I have a new mounting solution that should enable me to have the bar in front of the tv.
I suppose one way to get around the lack of 4K 120hz HDMI support on Sony TVs is to connect all the 4K 120hz devices to an AV receiver that can support them.
Dope review, I recently picked up a 65” a80k but now stuck between keeping it or returning it for a LG C1. Thoughts? I mostly use my tv for movies and casual gaming
Bro great video ❤️, I was considering g2 but now I’m thinking of A95K will the hdr and Dolby vision be better on a95k and I own a ps5 so how will be the gaming performance as compared to lg g2. Thankyou ❤️
Hello, I have a question about whether to connect my devices directly to this TV and then sending the audio to my receiver via eARC or connect everything to the receiver and only one cable to the TV from the receiver. The latter is my current connection and I’ve noticed a slight degradation in the video quality, specially when watching 4k BluRays. I’m not worried about seeing the cables as everything is in a cabinet. My TV: XR48A90K, Receiver: Denon AVR-S760H and has both 4K & 8K capabilities and sounds great. My HDMI cables are all 2.1. Thanks for the video and look forward to your answer.
@@AllAboutTKK damn I know you must be lovin the hell out of the SONY A95K. Ha ha ha TV of the year. I still think the Samsung QD OLED and the LG G2 are worthy TV's as well. I can't see how anyone would be unhappy with any one of these 3 TV's.
Hi i noticed that if I go look at just a dark picture video on my set on built in youtube…its gray nothing chnages except turning off peak brightness.my lg c1 showed black when i had it
Unfortunately I can not confirm or deny. Personally I don’t like using default app support on any tv, I would much rather view from a set top box device such as fire stick or Apple TV, etc.
I bought one today and watched this Video twice, I went to Bestbuy and both C2 and A90King was on display the Sony had a clear advantage on picture quality, it looked so precise the C2 looked good as well but it didnt blow me away like the Sony....talking to the Employee in the TV department he did say between the 2 the LG has a more return rate then the Sony but i was still very indecisive cause doing a little research the Sony does not support 1440P resolution in VRR mode or period the C2 does now I will be Hooking up a Xbox One X to the TV till the PS5 Pro comes and it supports VRR but only in 1440P so thats something that PC and Gamers need to be aware of so i was very torn on which one to buy but i went ahead and went with the Sony Bestbuy put it on sale 2 days ago....just not $800 or $900 dollars but $200 saving is good.
I returned the Sony and went with the LG C2 48 inches and I must say so far its a good TV , it was a very tough decision cause the Sony looked a little better....but given I'm a gamer there is no denying the features the C2 has over the A90k so my advice would be if your going to mainly going to watch movies go with the A90k if you will be gaming at least 40% or more and you have a game console at all get the LG, also if you go with the LG get it at Costco it comes with a total of 5 year warranty for free.
Not any in-depth reviews about this one so thanks. I have a question. When people say C2 is the better gaming tv, do you say that because LG tailored it towards gamers with the game optimizer and all that, or is it more to it? A90K has the better picture and im assuming just as good motion as the C2, so does it come down to C2 having better input lag? That's the only thing you didn't mention in the video. C2 had great input lag, so how does it compare?
Thank you. Lower input latency. Native Ultrawide support. Game optimizer. Top gaming monitors in the world don’t hold a candle to any of these TV sets, what makes them better is how they perform for Gaming as a collective plus, their feature set. Those are the reasons C2 is superior for gaming. Photo quality they are all within margin to be good enough for any gamer.
hi man see that you have alot of experience with these oled tvs etc! I myself have only owned 2 samsung 65" qleds never had an oled! I am in the market of upgrading my pc monitor and was leaning towards either the lg 48GQ900 monitor or the highly rated c2 48" tv also seeing this sony as well which you are reviewing on this video! I do not game much I am more simple user and like to view content look at youtube videos and well basically like colors popping etc! Can you recommend one of those for my pc scenario? Thank you!
Thanks for checking in. Either of the 3 would be nice but as a PC monitor officially, the Q900 is the best for that. Picture quality would come down to the A90K, I’ll be bringing it back to my channel at some point but it is an amazing tv from quality perspective. It’s not a secrets if you continue to watch my channel, the C2 is my personal favorite tv set of 2022.
@@AllAboutTKK hi I understand that due to being used for a pc monitor for normal daily browsing, media consumption and youtube etc that the lg monitor would have been your 1st recommendation, but apart from this take on it, wont the matte screen which I am assuming should be similar to that of that same sony cause loss of the popping colors of an oled?
@AllAboutTKK , I was on a chat on FOMO's channel and asked about the 48 Sony A90k vs the 48 LG C2. A youtuber said to get the C2 as it is 950 vs 1200 for the A90k and much brighter. What are thoughts on both of these tvs in Jan of 23? Also interested to know how low you think the prices could go for these once Sony and Lgs new models come out?
C2 is the better value for sure absolutely. But any person that wants the better looking tv, the a90k is it. It’s for most people going to be a price for value. I feel like the only UA-camr that does tv stuff that will not tell you to buy a tv because it’s cheaper alone, when a person comes asking for what looks better, the a90k is to be compared to c2 in 55”, the two 48” models I had in front of me did not impress me.
@@AllAboutTKK So are you saying when it comes to the 48 inch model C2 you like the Sony better? I am definitely leaning that way but I am wondering if the sony will drop in price once the new models come out this year. I would prefer to get it for under 1k
@@benchcity7371 even if your just using it with playstation 5? They claim to have unique features that enhance gaming with playstation 5. Is that bs also?
17:38 For me this is a perfect, is weird but I don't like big tvs, depends of the room but I like the idea of feels that I'm watching or playing on a TV! not a huge cinema screen, for that sizes I prefer go to a real theater, so 48 it feels perfect for get that feeling. Also I don't like this as a monitor, is too big for productivity, for gaming the size is good, so! I want this for 90% movies, 10% gaming. I already have a 27 monitor for the mac computer, so this 48 is the perfect size for my needs.
@@AllAboutTKK Now I have an LG 27" IPS 4K UHD 60hz Monitor. For me probably the ppi wouldnt be enough sharp for 4k on 42" TV as a Monitor usage (and to be safe for not to have burn in in the future I dont want to use it as a Monitor) but an 32" Philips 4K UHD 144hz isnt as good as a 42" Oled for movies usage. So I think about to use an 16" Macbook Pro M1 + 12,9" iPad Pro 2018 with sidecar (now) for Office work etc. and the Oled TV on a desk with 200cmx96cm. The distance of the 42" Display to me would be 1m at least and I think enough. I tried last year once few weeks the LG C1 with 48" the sharpness was bad for me (not enough) and too big for my desk. So I thought about the LG C2, but have seen they indluce an old OLED Display with it. How is it with the Sony A90K? Has it the new OLED Displays? What are the functions to avoid "burn in"? Better than from LG C2? I like the design of the Sony Oled more than from LG C2.
I just got the 42 in version and the picture isn't bright at all. I've adjusted ambient light sensor its up to max brightness...what else could be the issue?
I am torn between this TV and c2. as amazon is cutting down price on a90k and I! only gaming with ps5. will this better than c2. great work for putting up this video review.
Thank you. This tv will only be better if you are looking for the best representation of photo quality. C2 is the better well-rounded tv. And only if it’s in 55” or higher do you get next level brightness compared to A90K
@@AllAboutTKK thanks for your reply. That means its better to get a 55 lg' c2 for ps5.? As c2 is $1296 at Amazon and a90k is $1198. Which one you think is better for my case.
@@tonyfang3700 c2 for sure. It’ll be brighter and larger and offer you more going forward. If your space could only afford the smaller size then c2 in 48” isn’t a match for a90k, 55” changes that.
Nice review man! Any plans on a review on Panasonic new line up of Oled tv's like the Panasonic LZ1500 master pro oled (48") in comparison with the Sony A90K? Personally im fed up with Sony scam prices between USA and EU 1400/1500 bucks for the 48" while in EU its 2000 euro! Do the math and no one is talking about this discrimination. Hopefully Panasonic gives fair pricing worldwide. I like either Sony or Panasonic tv's never a fan of Samsung or LG.
I always wondered, what are those plastic pieces that are squared design in the back? Just covers for looks?. If its just for looks wouldnt it trap heat more?
Linda, You are welcome. If you know that you’ll be close enough to take advantage of what this level of quality has to offer, consider it, if not, then Linda I would not. But I am here for any questions.
Compared to the Ps5 wich is best paired with the A90k but what disadvantages does a xbox series x user have when using this tv for gaming? I'm stuck between this and c2 but now the c3 has been announced too so im abit stuck but I do know, sony has the best picture quality, so my only concern would be is the A90k good for xbox users non competitive gaming more story based games.
It is more than “good enough”, in fact this is the second best 42/48” screen of all time that is a TV, only better is the C2 and that’s by way of input latency, even the competition gamer can get busy on this bad boy. I swear by this tv man this thing is crucial!
@@AllAboutTKK thanks, you have helped me big time in making my decision, my final question is do you think there is going to be any major changes to the C3 for me to consider to wait on buying a 42 Oled?

I had my sony A90K 42 inch for a week now i have no regrets coming from the LG C2 oled 42 inch the picture quality is better for console gaming and movies
The Abl it's still a problem? My only fear , I hate the auto dimming, very distracting

Thank you and enjoy.
Brother, thank you for even taking the time to point that out.

The A90K is a beautiful tv, I’m surprised Sony didn’t do bigger sizes for this tv.
But i would go for this tv for the bedroom.
Great review as usual, keep up the awesome work. 👏👏
Thank you and congrats on getting the King!
Good review

@@terrym540 that is what I took advantage off when I bought mine, that is why I got it for £3000
But tbh I can understand the thought of your friend.

Very good and informative review-much appreciated. Is there a way to output sound from the S center jack?I have an old Nakamichi amplifier and would like to be able to use it with the TV.I am aware i can get the sound both ways from the hdmi arc port, just wondering.Be well and thanx in advance
Thank you. I do not believe there to be away around that Jack.
A90K "S-Center" (different than on A95K), from Sony rep: "The BRAVIA Acoustic Center Sync or S-Center speaker input on the TV allows you to connect with our compatible Sony soundbar/audio system such as HT-A9($2k), HT-A7000($1,300), and HT-A5000($900) to the TV for enhanced audio playback using the TV as a center channel speaker in a multi-channel setup."
So, it's not the same as the A95K "center channel speaker" feature: A set of spring terminals to accept center channel audio from an A/V receiver through normal speaker cables.
There it is! And thank you, none of this is included though probably spoken to in its manual, thank you for this comment, certainly this will help some person who will see it eventually.
What about 720p and 1080p movies? Any problems?
Gonna be a great bedroom tv and ps5 gaming on my desk
looking at this and the a9s, my use case will be pc/mac (for work and music) as well as movie watching, and some ps5 gaming. really tempted to grab this a90k up, but the a9s at $800 looks quite enticing.
Personally I feel the A90K is worth the difference in cost over the A9S.
Am using the a5000 on it, in my bedroom setup (videos up)
More to come on that as I have a new mounting solution that should enable me to have the bar in front of the tv.
I suppose one way to get around the lack of 4K 120hz HDMI support on Sony TVs is to connect all the 4K 120hz devices to an AV receiver that can support them.

Many thanks. Can you get youtube automatically or do you have to register for Google tv? Cheers.
Have to register.
Thank you for the depth. And for supporting my video with watch time.
Hey I know it's only been a week but how's the TV so far because I'm stuck in between those 2 also just like you was
I returned the Sony and went with the LG C2 48 inches and I must say so far its a good TV , it was a very tough decision cause the Sony looked a little better....but given I'm a gamer there is no denying the features the C2 has over the A90k so my advice would be if your going to mainly going to watch movies go with the A90k if you will be gaming at least 40% or more and you have a game console at all get the LG, also if you go with the LG get it at Costco it comes with a total of 5 year warranty for free.
@@Lavoss05 great thank you brother

Yes.
What I’m saying is shit happens, but if that’s your reasoning for never buying a brand then join the club brother, every brand has had a tv sold that went out before it should.
