Pericles is my go to civ cause of the passive culture. In the base game, the culture never grows as much as with BBG. Pericles's passive cs culture can compensate a bit in a science game. After trying a few times, I ended up getting a 104 turn science victory(deity) on a somewhat worse tech tree.
I also feel like people underappreciate the breathtaking appeal pantheon, especially in good highland spawns... I tend to have a good amount of faith for a second golden age monumentality.. that's been a strat I've been following for some time now.. 1st age pen-brush, into second age monumentality, third dark and so on...
On the topic of faith, going religion can hinder a culture victory, so I end up relying on Nazca, Laventa or the pantheon I mentioned cause it provides passive faith to fund rockbands and national parks..it can be a little less faith, like it might only get you 200 faith per turn by the end of the game, but its more than enough against the AI.
@@rahulmanoj9728 good points Rahul! 👍 Yeah BBG and base game changes definitely pump up the culture! The meritocracy card was nice here though. It’s also amazing how irrelevant faith was in this except I guess for national parks! No monumentality, rock bands etc
just watch another YT ber doing this challenge, Civ isnt his primery game.. so he was confused why didnt win when i surpassed the ai in tourist untill he realized he had to end turn for it to count..
got me thinking that the Cultural victory adds to the whole "just one more turn " thing :D
